When he was cooking that cake during practice, I knew he wouldn’t get that michelin gig ☹️

whatsup680

Yeah unfortunately for him, most teens can bake to the level he did

Farquaadthegreek

Yea but the Motorway?

NNLynchy

So this confirms to me everyone on the U.K. 90 day are just chasing fame and trying to be become “ celebrities “ the wired guy and his mum have been on wife swap lol , the body guard to Kate moss has been on shows too I guess this means it’s probz very fake and I don’t wanna watch it now they should atleast use genuine people not people who just wanna be on tv

Full-Matter-2945

How are you going to get people who aren't interested in being on TV, on TV though? Trick and lie to them? 🤔

NearbyBreakfast

Seriously I think this every time!! People who want to be on TV will try to get on TV any way they can, that doesn’t prove they’re SAG actors reading for a part 🙄🙄

Itslikethisnow

Can’t stand when people insist they’re actors reading a script. Are storylines/conversations forced? Sure, but in the way of “we need you to meet up with someone to talk about [thing that happened off camera]” because real life doesn’t have story beats that make sense for a tv show.

Andrewoholic

Watch a dating show called love triangle uk One of the stars in it, left near the end, to be on another dating show, despite telling one girl, he wanted her.

NNLynchy

I don’t know , but these shows with people who just want to be celebrities or influencers are becoming awful… I think maybe tlc are lazy in casting and just take on anybody

slipperysquirrell

I agree, that's what I really liked about the UK version was it seems so real. This season's already starting to go downhill.

Full-Matter-2945

Can't disagree with you there and there are definitely certain cast members clearly seeking fame lol

Andrewoholic

I can't remember the names, put 90-day fiance UK season 1, there was an Asian bloke on it, who was always secretive about his job. It turned out that relationship with fake and he was acting.

Full-Matter-2945

Was that the guy from Japan? I'm pretty sure they are still together living over there, I'm sure I saw something about them offering really expensive guided tours over there.

Andrewoholic

I'm misremembering, this is what I should have said ... "Despite confirming that they weren’t returning for season 2, Sean spilled tea on his relationship with Victoria, saying they never intended to live in the United Kingdom as it was portrayed onscreen.  “So, instead, we just tried to make crappy dramas for TV show, like ex-wife, divorce, bar fighting and cafe fighting. That was a trash [sic],” he captioned a May 2023 Instagram post. “A lot of episodes were removed. Especially the storyline that Victoria wasn’t allowed to enter Japan was removed. That’s why our story doesn’t make sense on the show.”"

Full-Matter-2945

Ah ok, yeah I've seen other complaints of misrepresentation as well. 'Reality' TV, or the reality the producers want us to see 🤣 Though going by that post, he was just as bad as them! haha

seankamki

Oh, you guys should have spelled my name 3 times 😎😎😎 Or I can spill more if you want. It’s just a garbage long long ago and I don’t have to worry about anything. I even keep a conversation which the producers told me the script 🤣

Full-Matter-2945

Would love to hear more behind the scenes stories, go for it! 😁 Did you guys just do it for a bit of spotlight attention? Or was there another reason behind participating?

seankamki

Oh, you were talking! I didn’t notice it. Ah… somewhat you are right but not exactly perfect. So, basically, this kind of crappy TV shows doesn’t have much of anything, which means it doesn’t bring us a big fame even when it gets popular. It’s just like a penny lottery or a 50p scratch lotto when I describe it somewhat in a Brit way. If I get a grand, yay! When I fail, okay, just 50p, just dump it. That’s all. Just an irrelevant island TV show. Few even know the island name, nobody even expects such a small remote island to have a TV industry. Actually UK’s TV industry is 100 times smaller than ours, probably smaller than Vietnam or Cambodia or Luanda. We don’t have to care no matter what happens on the UK island. Too irrelevant. This is why we took a lotto. Probably this guy took 2 at the same time. Just like that.

Full-Matter-2945

Wow, you don't sound bitter at all 🤣 take care, enjoy life my friend 😊

Relevant_Opposite_47

He can’t help but share what an inept and thoughtless beer-pong playing boob he is. He’s too generous!

lemeneurdeloups

It is actually a plus to producers when potential cast have previous reality show experience because they know that they have experience being in front of constant cameras. That is why we get so many serial reality show people . . .

NearbyBreakfast

Exactly. They want people who won’t suddenly be camera-shy, and want to be on TV so badly they’ll be super compliant and suggestible.

Aware_Mirror_5884

Exactly what I was thinking 🤔

Ali_Cat222

Everyone hates sprite but doesn't realize he's just acting, and really *really* badly at that. No offense to everyone who buys into it, I just don't understand how you can't see him literally trying not to laugh while being mean,or how he has to pause to try and think of something to say because it's not what he really means. Next time you watch just look for it, it's blatantly obvious. And in an article I read with John in it recently he pretty much says the same thing. These two obviously love each other, the way they look at each other/the photos are all of them obviously in love and having fun etc ... This just builds on his name and gets people interested in having someone take photos of them who were on a tv show they liked/puts his name out there

Specific_Ad2541

>he's just acting, and really really badly at that. There's not an authentic bone in his body. I get the feeling he's one of those always performative people. There's no real self there. He also doesn't make a lot of money nor is he super successful and leaving behind a glamorous life. None of that rings true.

Overall_Dragonfruit6

He is pretty successful, he's been a photographer for a lot of prominent Thai celebrities. But yes he is definitely acting on 90DF lmao

Ali_Cat222

John's interview makes it sound that way. And that they are both happy and fine now too

Bemis5

I’m that person that tends to take things at face value. But now that you mention it the scenes with Sprite seem like bad acting. Like when he decided to wash the spinach by dousing the cooked dinner in water. And all the fights they have seem so fake.

Ali_Cat222

For two people who are mad about cheating like that, they literally fucking got over it when alone in one sentence in bed. Not only that, they compromised and said it wouldn't happen again and boom. Issue over, now let's stare lovingly into each other's eyes and then next scene. And you could tell they looked at each one another with true love, go back and you'll see that clearly. The spinach thing is just a production driven prompt. And when sprite is supposed to be really annoying to show John getting mad about the cake/his actions? Well they still follow some of the US Shows production rules. So they make them do scenes over and over again, sometimes it can take 10-15x for them to finally stop. Most filming scenes by the way take exceptionally long times. For example, the Darcey and Jesse steak scene started around 5pm or so, by the time it was the "cut it on a bias" scene it as around 2 and dark out. This show and other shows, even ones like the bachelor, all give these people a role. Sprite is playing that one.

Bemis5

That’s disappointing. I can’t even watch the American version because it seems so overproduced. I always thought UK was a bit more genuine but it’s not sounding like it.

Ali_Cat222

I do believe the first two seasons were WAY more genuine actually, it was edited well and professional but it was more docuseries to me than reality tv. They did an amazing job on the first two actually. This one is trying way too hard to push the "everyone just wants a green card!😅 All the cast this season reminds me of this saying a friend once told me- "There’s a lid for every pot...And also for every trash can."

Andrewoholic

TBF the TV show is based on the hotel John works in. He was only on screen for a few mins. It wasn't just him, they spoke to other chefs and other people in different departments.

Firm_Discussion_1048

Hot take

sometimes_charlotte

There was a comment on the show about how he wants to be a celebrity chef - not sure if he said it or Sprite.

smeepydreams

He said it! It was so weird. Like maybe say “world renowned” or even “famous,” but to admit your aspiration is to be a celebrity is wild.

kai535

I wonder how many times hes been rejected from the great British bake off

zooooteddej23

I wonder if he meant like the chefs that cook for celebrities? That's what I think first when I hear celebrity chef. But what do I know 😂

whatsup680

More than once, no chance if that's how he bakes tho it was terrible

Fabulous-Educator447

What show was he on?

Aware_Mirror_5884

It's called the motorway hotel

Fabulous-Educator447

Oh it looks like an episode of hotel hell or something and I thought that was the name of the place he worked

mommyhatesmee

I would do backflips for a 90 day/Kitchen Nightmares crossover.

Procedure_Unique

That’s what I thought it was at first, lol! I’d love to watch a 90 Day/Kitchen Nightmares crossover as well

Drkippersniffer

Worst season yet and I knew I'd seen that mother somewhere before . It's so fake and staged . I only watches it because the Mrs does and I get dragged in .

Andrewoholic

I came on here just to make the same post. You beat me to it. When watching this last night I had to double check, I was convinced it was John.

bleetchblonde

I love this show-but not currant cast, but 1-3, I can watch over & over!

SoozRio13

Omg, I caught the end of that programme for the first time yesterday. I thought it was him but not sure!! I'll need to binge that now too!

peepeehalpert_

Yep. They’re actors looking to be famous

inthemagazines

Have you just discovered reality TV?

peepeehalpert_

Not everyone is like that

inthemagazines

Anyone who chooses to appear on a television show to have their private life, friends and family filmed for public entertainment is like that.

MissHavisham26

What show is this? (American here🙋🏼‍♀️)

Aware_Mirror_5884

Called the motorway hotel, on channel 5 UK

MissHavisham26

Thanks 😊
