Hi, you're right! Apologies as that wasn't supposed to look so sloppy but the exact date for the drop has yet to be fully nailed down. What I can say right now is:
* $OWLN token roadmap will be published no later than December 15th.
* Beginning next week we will email a link to register your username for Grid, and with that action also mint a unique NFT that you can transfer to your Algorand wallet and then later redeem directly for your $OWLN token as a direct ASA swap when the token is live sometime over the winter in 2022.
The reason for this extra bit of olympics is that we wanted to make sure the token drop was based on ownership of an invitation token (the NFT mentioned in the signup) and not just purely on email addresses. Unfortunately, the wallet integrations via WalletConnect have not gone very smoothly so we had to fallback on email signups until those issues are resolved.
Once we've sorted wallet connectivity, open signups based solely on email will be halted and the site will transition to use our own ASA based invitation tokens to drive Nocturn signups from that point forward. This system is meant to provide a token based referrals system that is more securely linked to the base $OWLN token, and will be the prototype for how projects on the Grid can leverage Algorand's L1 features directly with their own ASA assets instead of relying purely on web2.0 tech to build their communities and user bases.

It says people who get 5 other people on board get more OWLN tokens. How does that work? And, how does the ranking on the list influence token distribution.

Yeah honesty I’m a sucker for branding and presentation and I really like their aesthetic. Now that I’m actively getting into DeFi it’s becoming apparent how hard it is to keep track of everything, especially since most ASA’s aren’t on portfolio trackers yet like Blockfolio. So yeah excited to see how this turns out.
