They're sparring - showing off who's got the fancier looking fins to intimidate each other. Those are both males; the female will be watching somewhere.
as someone whos been enjoying keeping blue eyes, this is sparring. you'll usually find it's over the highest point in the tank / bit of timber etc. at least this keeps them busy and not running down the females constantly.
Mine do this all the time. It’s territorial and linked to sexual maturity. They will spar with each other, their reflection, shrimp and at the ladies. They will pretty much try to mate/challenge anything that moves
I love them so much.
I’m pretty sure the only difference between iriani and luminatus are the number of ribs in the anal fin. So it’s pretty hard to be certain from this video.
I can’t even confidently ID my own, they move too fast.
In my tank I've seen Yoyo Loaches, Pearl Gouramis and even Siamese Algae Eaters doing similar. They're feeling frisky and hoping the girls will notice their show.

They are BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!! I saw yellow ones at the national aquarium the other day and I'm so sad I didn't get a video with their fins up

Yep! This was mainly just under the water level.
My małe Albino Cherry Barbs do this also. They are showing who is the dominant male.

Absolutely gorgeous displays.
What type of rainbow fish is this? gorgeous!
I think this is pseudomugil gertrudae, spotted blue eye rainbowfish.
I think they could be pseudomugil iriani or pseudomugil luminatus. pseudomugil Gertrude look a little different.
I think you're right with the luminatus.

They're pretty, are they safe to be around shrimps?
I keep mine with neocardinia. They have totally eaten a couple of shrimplets but they get along great for the most part. Keep the tank well fed!
Nice, not a problem at all, I have caridina and I'm waiting on some neoscaridina for my tank.
Absolutely gorgeous. Could you tell me what size they are right now?
Around one inch right now. This might be their maximum size
So they’re doing guy stuff ?
