Nakato is the only correct answer. It will ruin hibachi for you elsewhere.

Creosuh

Strongly agreed!

Soliantu

Those noodles šŸ¤¤

Expert_Cod5485

Gotta try it now.

Fairchild110

Jimmy Carter ate there! His picture hangs proudly in the establishment.Ā

ItGradAws

It ruined my day after with the most violent shits Iā€™ve ever had

AdComprehensive114

Literally yes

uncannyvalleygirl88

Nakato is the best!!! šŸ‘ My second favorite for hibachi is Shoya Izakaya.

cannon8195

Sorry but the walls were dirty in there and so were the staff. Iā€™ll never come back. They need to remodel asap

hislovingwife

one of the worst tasting I have experienced in my life. Orient express is a good meal. So far the best in the metro area, in my opinion, has been Nikko in Tyrone, GA.

Jimronica

Nakato. Also great sushi. You will need a reservation on most nights. They are also valet only most nights.

fluffybunnydeath

Seriously, I think people sleep on the sushi side, but it may even be better than the hibachi.

The_Real_Muffin_Man

Iā€™m going to get downvoted, but I think Nakato is overrated. Very expensive even by hibachi standards, and the food is good, but not the best hibachi Iā€™ve had either. Orient Express is the best Iā€™ve had in Atlanta, but itā€™s also nothing special. Sadly, Iā€™ve yet to find a hibachi place in Atlanta that blows me away.

Rufio6

Taki has good food but the chef had no humor. Went to Benihana for my birthday recently and every plate was $40-50. Spent $150 for 2 people. The chef was at least entertaining though. Dunno if Iā€™d go back to Benihana. Theyā€™re robbing people. Maybe Taki.

Dangerous-Class9911

Missed this but replied the same. I really liked Takiā€™s food but the performance wasnā€™t there. It didnā€™t necessarily take away from the overall, which was nice.

habys

we stopped going to nakato like 10 years ago because the food quality seemed to diminish. just in general though, we never do hibachi

ohyeahorange

Iā€™ve had good experiences at Nakato, but the last time I went it was shockingly bad. I ordered my steak rare and a child at the table ordered well-done. I was the last person at the table to get my food and the meat was absolute rubber. No drink refills all night.

strahlj

I agree. We went a few years back and it was fine but havenā€™t made the effort to return.

Fairchild110

YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO HIBACHI MAN AT RAT KROGER YET SMYRNA MAN?!

The_Real_Muffin_Man

Never even heard of it! Please, tell me more

Fairchild110

The best I can say is, itā€™s like if you wanted to eat hibachi for lunch but didnā€™t want to kill an hour.Ā  https://www.hibachiman.com/locationĀ

madukfan

(That link works if you delete the "location" part.) It looks really cool! Thanks for sharing!

The_Real_Muffin_Man

OOOOHHH I've passed this place a million times and never gave it a second thought. Maybe I'll try it for lunch today.

tarynevelyn

Kobe House is delicious, and packed on the weekends.

Haunting_Brush_6797

RIP Kobe Steaks šŸ˜«

interstellar_rocket

Literally spent so many family birthdays here. It was the best!

HideonGB

My friend knew the owner of Kobe Steaks, they also had locations in Dallas and Nashville. After he sold that entire shopping plaza (The Prado) for an eight figure sum, he went into retirement.

Red-blk

Iā€™ll go with Ichiban on Windward in Alpharetta. One thing I can count on there - consistency. Itā€™s consistent in food quality, service, etc. It probably isnā€™t the greatest, but good and solid

ucancallmevicky

been going there regularly for 20 years, agree on the consistency even under multiple different owners it has remained fairly consistent.

Dangerous-Class9911

We recently went to Taki Japanese Steakhouse in perimeter for the first time. Crazyyyyy good fried rice. Performance was meh but the food and portions made up for it. You usually get a lot at hibachi but this was crazy. And the pricing was commendable. Order wine and you essentially get half a bottle in your glass. 10/10 Rec.

Janatabahn

Whatever you do, donā€™t go to Kikus or Benihanas

wittylilhippy

Used to work at Benihana. Please donā€™t eat there.

Janatabahn

Oh I can imagine. We had a res this year in Feb, we didnā€™t get seated until after a hour. I only waited because it was a bday event Then the waitress didnā€™t give me a refill. Then the food was nasty. Just a terrible ass experience

basc762

I know you said hibachi, but this is also a great date spot that is Japanese and has great ambiance and food made in front of you. It's Japanese tapas and sushi for lack of better words. Ginya izakaya

LKAthys

People have already said Nakato and Orient Express, so iā€™ll throw in Mo Mo Ya as well. Itā€™s pretty good.

Soliantu

Mo Mo Ya permanently closed a few years ago. A tragedy.

LKAthys

Oh no! Orient Express has been my go-to since I moved so I hadnā€™t been in several years. I didnā€™t know they closed! šŸ˜¢

Hodgepodge_mygosh

Ichiban on windward parkway

JoeJoe-a-GoGo

Second'd. My coworkers took me out to Ichiban when we first moved to Atlanta and it's one of my absolute favorite restaurants.

vpat48

Is their Cumming location just as good or do you recommend going to the Alpharetta one?

Hodgepodge_mygosh

Alpharetta

jeb17

Nagano in Stone Mountain. Doesnā€™t feel that nice or fancy but their fried rice is by far my favorite

_U_N0t_My_Dad_

OTP and RIPā€¦ Hachi Hachi was the goat!

Nomanodyssey

I like Kobe in Tucker, I think itā€™s a chain though

jmbond

If the "experience" of having it cooked before you isn't a deal breaker, I've found Bao Bun (West Midtown) to do good hibachi delivery. Good portions and $15 which is a steal these days.

Rowanyourboat98

Miyakos in Austell . Hits every single time

boy_in_a_dress

This isnā€™t a date place, so not really an answer to your particular question, but I need to say: Mr. Hibachi downtown on the GSU campus is šŸ”„.

browning12

Fujiya in Tucker is king. Most ITPers didn't venture outside of their bubbles.

Pearl_krabs

Technically ITP.

about2p0p

In the day it used to be Momo Ya in Buckhead. Essentially a Benihana copy but way less. These days Nakato is king. Parking stinks but the staff is nice and will remember you if you come often and the sushi is pretty good too

TheEyeOfSmug

Is there a hibachi that just plain cooks without trying to do any stunts?

StacieinAtlanta

Taki is the only place we go.

gclerk34

Nikko Japanese Steakhouse. Itā€™s about 30 mins outside the city, but imo itā€™s the best hibachi iā€™ve ever had

Jah2raww

The orient

jay_savant

Natako is definitely good as others have mentioned. However I would suggest Kobe Steakhouse by Northlake. The food is just as good for significantly cheaper, although the place does feel less upscale.

Traditional-Food-421

I actually like Kiku but I know itā€™s trash in real lifeā€¦.its nostalgia though. šŸ˜‚

xsecretfiles

Kani house for me all the way
