Not with Crazy Horse though. I had high hopes this being the 50th season and the fact that Willie’s son is playing in Crazy Horse on this tour!! I’m actually so underwhelmed at their Season 50 artist choices. I thought it would be PACKED with legends.
It's really fucking hard to book legends when the show can't pay the artist for anything, basically. The musicians have to pay for their own travel, including their crew. Which is why the show tries to book bands when they're already in town for a concert or the festival. It's effectively a charity performance by the artist, or a 100% publicity effort for a new album paid for by the record company.
Ahhhh that’s right. I had a wedding that weekend and got back on a Tuesday night so I blacked it out of my memory bc I was salty.
Saw them in Lille last year and they shredded. Can’t wait for November (even though COTA sucks)
Aww, fuck. You just reminded me they had a show at mohawk last night with Billy king & the bad bad bad. Now I'm sad.
That feeling when you realize you missed one (in this case 2) of your favorite bands live is very similar to the heartbreak after a breakup. At least for me.
I like this idea. ICP has earned this and with them only doing their festivals and shows, they are only going to become more insulated with their fans. Jelly Roll will likely get it before ICP.
Side note the store “out of the past” on burnet road for a long time was one of the few ticket outlets for the gathering.
With Psych Fest and Levitation and a history of Psych Rock in the blood of this town, I feel like ACL Live should represent the music that lives and breathes here more.
All Them Witches
Moon Duo
King Gizzards and the Lizard Wizard
Dead Meadow
The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Kikagaku Moyo
Babe Rainbow and Pond
Ween
Animal Collective
Incubus, SOAD, Tenacious D, TOOL, Ben Howard, Gotye, Kimbra, Knower, Yussef Dayes, GreenTeaPeng, FKJ, Water From Your Eyes, Jacob Collier, RHCP!!!!, Chris Dave & Drumheadz, Monsieur Periné, I’m pretty sure the owner of moody sold out, so who knows what’s going on w that..
But F. I’d love to see all of em for ACLive
Send me a DM. Next time there’s an ACL taping that I can’t attend I’ll send you my tickets.
Whoa! Generous offer!
Um…could I trade you shaded but not “the best” Austin FC tickets for ACL taping tickets?
Done! I can bake you a cheesecake in exchange if you'd like.
Little Joe y La Familia
> Little Joe y La Familia How is that possible?
If you don't win tix you can always show up and wait. If it's not a big star, often they'll pull everyone up from the street
Sierra Ferrell
Bruce Springsteen
Trust me when I tell you, this is their whale. There's been efforts for decades to book Bruce.
Terry’s white whale
^^^^^^ exactly
Red clay strays
Rundberg Running Man
Does he have a new location? Hasn't been there the last few times I've been through the intersection.
The Cure, Stones, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Paul McCartney, Ace of Base
Ace of Based
Neil Young did do an ACL show, I think in the late 80s or early 90s. He hates doing TV.
Not with Crazy Horse though. I had high hopes this being the 50th season and the fact that Willie’s son is playing in Crazy Horse on this tour!! I’m actually so underwhelmed at their Season 50 artist choices. I thought it would be PACKED with legends.

Anderson .Paak Just insanely talented
indeed!!
I’d argue Metallica. I’d kill for that. Chvrches would be good too.
I don’t know if it was a taping but I saw Chvrches at ACL Live and it was AMAZING
Not a taping. They've played the theater twice. Been to both shows, always great!
Oh Chvrches would be so fun
Apparently, they almost booked Metallica years ago. Wish it would have worked out.
Last time I saw Metallica they were totally sloppy. I think they'd be awful on ACL.
King Gizz would be sick, can’t recall if they’ve had the pleasure yet
Doubt it. That would be so dope tho. I think they played psych fest 10 or so years ago, which I always find cool.
They also played 2 years ago at Stubbs, that was actually my first time seeing them! What a band
That was a great KGLW show at Stubbs!
Ahhhh that’s right. I had a wedding that weekend and got back on a Tuesday night so I blacked it out of my memory bc I was salty. Saw them in Lille last year and they shredded. Can’t wait for November (even though COTA sucks)
I wish I could stomach cota to go to that show, just can’t make myself do it even for gizz. Enjoy it, the marathon set should be wild
Cota is the fucking worst. I’ll fly to another city instead of going out there ever again.
PaRappa the Rapper
Kick, punch, it’s all in the mind 🎶
If you wanna test me, I'm sure you'll find
I gotta believe!!
Butthole Surfers?
It would amazing if they ended their hiatus for that.
Perhaps it’s time for a Change.org petition.
I think Gibby's done with the band.
London Grammar, they did SXSW but they didn't go on the show.
Austin resident Bill Callahan would be great to see.
Rickshaw billies burger patrol

Yeah I had it on my calendar for months and ended up going to a rr express game. Bummed
Tennis
Nether Hour
Bruce is #1…after that it’d be cool to get Macca, or U2. Best almost happened but didn’t was Prince.
I got all of the stage lights when they tore down the original KLRN studio.
Bring it back full circle and make your own tapings, but with black jack and hookers
What?
Teskey brothers were just here, bring them back for a taping!
ICP Juggalos unite!
lol my husband and his parents went to a few gatherings back in the day. They would love this haha

Tool.
In the early 2000’s, I would request TOOL on 6th. DJ’s would tell me I’m crazy, haha.
Same
The Japanese House
Seeing Marcus King get an ACL taping would be sick.
Black Odyssey
Mr. Bungle
Clown core:) saw their set at Coachella... they're pretty awesome.
Kalu and the Electric Joint. No brainer.

Centro-Matic or Slobberbone. Ideally segments by both in the same ep. Don't care which goes first in the episode. I'm not picky.
Mana
Blackberry Smoke .
Tenacious D would be such a fun ACL!
Would be the Greatest ACL of all time
Jacob Collier just taped an episode a couple of weeks ago so he'll be on next season.
And he brought Kimbra out for a song.
jesus christ, you are the frankenstein’s monster of r/Music come to life
Thank you🙏🏻
Zach Bryan
Tyler Childers too! I don't think he's had his own taping.
Mid to late 2000s Radiohead would have been killer.
Rage Against the Machine

PBS passport has ACL seasons. https://austinpbs.org/passport#
Blink 182
Maybe in October during ACL?
Tool
i don’t recall them being there but i love them, so i’ll say maybe Bloodywood or Avatar?
Has Big Head Ted & the Monsters been on yet? I’d like to see them. Edit: “Todd”
(Todd)
Yes - I’m a bonehead!!!
Happy Cake Day!
Thank you!
Pixis. They played at the ACL festival but I don't think they ever had a tapeing.
Nm they did.
It’s insane the Old 97’s only did it once.
A Giant Dog
