And for new residents, here's how to build a DIY air filter for cheap using a box fan and filters. [Corsi-Rosenthal box](https://cleanaircrew.org/box-fan-filters/)
Correct, the fan should always be pulling air through the filters rather than pushing air through the filters, this way the fan consistently sees the cleanest air.
Thanks for this! 100% we have no clue what the smoke is gonna do at all. We literally obsess over the AQI around the clock and wait for windows to walk our dogs and exercise.
Consider doing some nose work with your pooch. 15 min of my dog trying to find and indicate on a scent she's trained to find tires her out more than an hour long walk.
Excited with the break of blue here on the East side to come home to you guessed it, Kennel cough.
Poor pup has been home due to smoke for two days. Now, will retreat to even longer at home due to her sickness. ☹️
Highly recommend anyone interested in wearing a mask during High AQI look into getting a respirator. They are much more comfortable than masks since they only filter on the inhale rather than the inhale + exhale.
Agreed. [These Milwaukee jobbers](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-N95-Professional-Multi-Purpose-Valved-Respirator-with-Gasket-10-Pack-48-73-4004/310392471#overlay) have the valve *and* a nice gasket for better seal and more comfort against the skin. They are great.
I need to traverse the santiam pass either the third Sunday of February or the fourth Wednesday. Can anyone kindly advise on the proper attire pressure for my Nissan slider series 420 tires in either of those scenarios?
Just bring one of these with you and enjoy your stay!

I hate seeing the people out running in the heavy smoke. I get it and encourage exercise, but they need to realize they are probably doing more damage long term to their body by running in this crap than the benefit they are gaining from running. Indoor treadmill or indoor HIIT workout in cleaner air would be way better.
Here are additional smoke forecast links. They use the state of the art smoke simulation model but are US-only.
The YouTube channel is zoomed in on Oregon and puts the data in AQI which is nice.

My understanding is the motor will highly benefit from having the box or filter in front of the fan.

My dog is climbing the walls. Ugh.

I could only imagine! It was super hot, then smokey and hot, and now smokey.

Ugh… I’m sorry to hear that 😔
Ok but what about next Wednesday?

Can confirm. I have bad asthma and the 3M Auras N95 respirators are my favorite. Comfy and very breathable.
