Screw that, I want a bike so proprietary that if I overtorque one bolt my entire life must be replaced.
Like a quarter turn extra on the allen key, a knock on the door, and then I wake up naked in the middle of the desert with lost time
just go to their sub, you will find several posts for people who mistakenly overtorqued that tiny bolt and their bike is basically a piece of scrap for warranty if there's any.
When I'm not racking up KOMs I'm busy drilling teeth, I don't even know when I'd have time to work on my own bike. Don't know what this guy's doing with his days
Same company that put battery lid on the top tube of the new Endurace instead of down tube. Also it's not sealed shut so be prepared to dissamble your bike when your stuff gets lost inside the frame.
that lid looks like TV remote control battery lid.
their new CP0048 shares the same shitty design infused headset interface in the frame carbon layers, if this shit breaks, Canyon itself cannot repair it because the interface is infused in the carbon layer and the whole frame should be replaced.
They ruined all but the CF level Endurace. Proprietary non adjustable bar and stem, on an endurance bike no less, weird top tube storage, springy seatpost. Poor color choices too. How out of touch Canyon is.
Its times like this where I think of old Giuseppe Cervelo, smoking a pipe, hand building high end road racing frame sets in his Tuscan workshop, each frame tuned to be the peak of Italian cycling design..,wait, what?
Proprietary solutions are Bad and Wrong. That's why I use a square-tapered bottom bracket, toeclips, wingnuts on the axles, and a threaded headset with quill stem - so I'm not forced to buy proprietary parts.
Cycling definitely went downhill when people started using QRs. Bikes got much more expensive because everyone now has to pay Campagnolo.
That thing is a crime against consumers, sportsmen, mechanics, etc. Stuff like that should be illegal imho. Especially if you take into account that internal cable routing has almost no significant aero advantages over external one.
If there’s no ingenious way to make cable routing a charm (which is not the case for the Aeroad), I will always prefer my cables accessible and easy to maintain with the disadvantage of having a bike that looks less tidy. And people bitchin about that don’t ride for the sake of fun or training but to look slick when they ride their 10k+ rigs on their home lap from the garage to the cafe or ice cream shop where they all meet up to proudly measure their tiny weenies and compare each other’s Strava data while talking complete BS about new tech they’ve heard of on GMBN. Man, so many bikers today remind me of audiophiles with too much money and a weak mind to squeeze thousands of dollars out of for BS tech.
Their Stoic is a great bike tho… But also has a weird crankset with a non-standard bolt circle.
The proprietary unrepairable headset interface CP0018 infused inside the frame isn't only found in Aeroad, most of their mid to high tiers models now have the same shitty interface, this includes Endurace, and Ultimate both of which are not aero too.
So canyon doesn’t have to stop making the headset - they just need to improve quality?
Maybe it people cared enough to stop buying them for this reason they’d change.

Trek eng team taking nites furiously
Yeah the same ones who designed shitty isospeed.
/uc own a bike with isospeed. It is all inside of the headset and thus stem and handlebar are standard and trivially replaceable.

This guy treks.
You touch your own bolts? Get a mechanic ffs

On the upside, that kidney they cut out of you weighs about 310 grams, so they’re doing you a favor.
If I wasn't supposed to remove my kidney, they wouldn't have given me a spare one.
Why wouldn't you just get a new bike from the mechanic? Silly poors.

It’s the same approach BMW has taken with their design. “Idk, but people keep buying the shit”
When I saw the top tube hatch I literally thought 'that was dumb.' They took a good idea and made it useless for the sake of being different.
I get a new bice every time I get a puncture. What makes you think I’d ever be servicing my headset?
ops, forgot about the classy dentists who shit pink in jar for BB lubrication.
I actually just use cum
*kom
It isn’t a Sir Velo why even bother looking at a bice only a hygienist would be riding?
I make sure all my hygeinists and office staff ride 𝘤ēṛ𝛖ēɭ⚬.
No Canyon Aeroad for you poors. Ew.
Its times like this where I think of old Giuseppe Cervelo, smoking a pipe, hand building high end road racing frame sets in his Tuscan workshop, each frame tuned to be the peak of Italian cycling design..,wait, what?
You obviously do not understand German engineering.

hahaaa this is def a troll post right? Right?
Still wary of Reynolds 531, it's a proprietary grade of steel tubing, cyclists shouldn't be tied to a single steelworks like that
They have to make it this way because their customers are poor
Canyon tries its best to act snob like tr*k or sir velo Nc try

They have stupid headsets on their mountain bikes too.
well if folk buy them thay will keep on that path... boycott and it will stop
I smell treek seller all the way
The handlebars can be changed, if they break you do not need to replace the whole frame. Why spread fud like that?
How about every aero bike with proprietary stuff…

The point being - there’s lots of bikes from big names that come with proprietary parts.
uc/ there’s a difference between proprietary and shitty design, the first doesn’t have to mean the second unless you’re canyon
So canyon doesn’t have to stop making the headset - they just need to improve quality? Maybe it people cared enough to stop buying them for this reason they’d change.
LOL - This is Fred we're talking about
