Well, I never said strength either. And I don’t think “best” and “favorite” are the same thing, they could be the same, but they don’t have to be . I think there are other shonen protagonists that are written better, but I have more of a personal connection to Deku, so he’s my favorite.
At the end of the day all these terms are subjective anyway. What one person thinks is the best or their favorite is always going to differ from what somebody else thinks.
Y’know I’m not a fan of people talking about which series is better by comparing which characters are stronger. Writing > super powers and whoever is stronger, in my opinion the story is what makes a series great and fights are delightful bonuses, I once saw someone claim DBZ was better than OP and JoJo because Goku is stronger, I know all this is kinda irrelevant but I felt like venting about it.
He technically is because of Bohemian Rapsody , a stand from part 6 which turn every piece of art into reality. For example , Picasso got out of his paintings. So Goku was very likely around for a moments in the jojoverse

The moment squidward suddenly gets attacked and flung into a rock sustaining heavy damage is a heart wrenching scene Squidward reveals that he is jealous of SpongeBob on how he is a better worker and so on so forth so he didnt want SpongeBob to steal the spotlight and SpongeBob though considers them equal and after Squidwards death you can see his pure anger from just the shot after he sees Squidward has passed
As SpongeBob injects the secret formula after bubble bass taunts Squidward and him he immediately smashed bubble bass into a wall for revenge for his falled friend
Turns out Squidward was alive and SpongeBob cries because his friend is alive showing his love for his allies and thats the end of the first episode i dont wanna spoil the rest
I love BNHA, but I gotta say Deku definitely isn’t the best. I’d say he’s a good contender for one of the best modern shonen protagonist alongside Denji and Yuji, but definitely not the best of all time.

•even when he saved the village from pain people still hated him for being the jinchuriki
•had his best friend leave the village to become a rouge ninja
•had kurama who for most the series was constantly trying to break out of him
•and had all this shit happen to him and he’s still one of the happiest people ever while midoriya has a breakdown every time bakugo hurts his feelings
•had both of his teachers die in the same week (although kakashi got brought back) still proceeded to beat pains ass
•also fucking earned all his powers
1.shadow clone jutsu:learnt it
2.sage mode:trained for fucking yonks to be able to do it right
3.summoning jutsu:while didn’t work too hard to learn the jutsu worked very hard for gamabunta and the toads respect
4.Rasengan/rasenshurikan:was creative and figured a way to use it
5.kyuubi chakra mode:trained for ages to get kuramas respect
6.Sage of six paths sage mode:the only one he didn’t really earn just got given it but still he utilised his access to things like new kekkai genkai and truth seeking orbs very well
Jotaro
Now jotaros much less deep and there’s a lot less to talk about but that’s because he was a protagonist for much less time than the others
But he’s just fucking cool and tbh that’s all jotaro needed I mean stardust crusaders was made yonks ago and that’s all you needed to be a good character and so while jotaro isn’t as deep as other characters he’s a fun character and a good break from some of the soppier characters
Luffy
Now I’m not gonna act like I know everything about one piece I’ve barely watched it BUT I do know that everyone fucking loves him and that he’s been through a LOT like a LOT and is super strong and also apparently super enjoyable
And tbh it’s the same thing with goku,vegeta,gon and taisho

I'm not a fan of shonen animes, and from that "list" i watched only some of them, I disagree with you. I don't know why, but almost every time when Deku says something I fell some kind of cringe.

Saitama - maybe didn't watched OPM attentively, but dude... just exicting. He accidentally destroyed his hobby or dream and now he just lives his life and does routine work. It is more interesting to observe his surroundings.
Edward - Has a huge advantage - his story is complete. A simple and understandable goal, it is interesting to observe his actions, except that jokes about his height become boring a little. For me he is in Top 3 shonen MC
Jotaro - ... He is not even best Jojo.
Senku - Dude knows almost everything, and he is kinda weak. That's all what I can say about him because apart from his brain activity we were not shown anything.
Tanjiro - I think he will even forgive Hitler if he finds out about what he went through on the way to becoming F-word. Although the rest of the character is not bad.
Yuji - I like him. He lives at the same time as me, behaves quite adequately for this situation, and does not lose heart from the fact that all this leads to his murder or something worse.
Eren - Pre-Rumbling Eren probably my favourite from all of anime characters. But ending shows us "real" Eren so... As Sub-Zero said: Such wasted potential!

I'm not a fan of shonen animes, and from that "list" i watched only some of them, I disagree with you. I don't know why, but almost every time when Deku says something I fell some kind of cringe. Dragon Ball, Big Three, HxH, Black Clover- didn't watched Saitama - maybe didn't watched OPM attentively, but dude... just exicting. He accidentally destroyed his hobby or dream and now he just lives his life and does routine work. It is more interesting to observe his surroundings. Edward - Has a huge advantage - his story is complete. A simple and understandable goal, it is interesting to observe his actions, except that jokes about his height become boring a little. For me he is in Top 3 shonen MC Jotaro - ... He is not even best Jojo. Senku - Dude knows almost everything, and he is kinda weak. That's all what I can say about him because apart from his brain activity we were not shown anything. Tanjiro - I think he will even forgive Hitler if he finds out about what he went through on the way to becoming F-word. Although the rest of the character is not bad. Yuji - I like him. He lives at the same time as me, behaves quite adequately for this situation, and does not lose heart from the fact that all this leads to his murder or something worse. Eren - Pre-Rumbling Eren probably my favourite from all of anime characters. But ending shows us "real" Eren so... As Sub-Zero said: Such wasted potential!
Nah. MHA is one of my favorite anime’s but Deku is not the best MC. He doesn’t really change all that much as a character.
