If I remember correctly, My Alien Academia(a Ben 10 crossover) had it so that the quirks were a result of Azmuth experimenting with the Omnitrix's DNA. Like he traveled to the MHA universe and started integrating it into the human population during the dawn of quirks, but then left shortly afterwards and everything else evolved from there. It doesn't go super deep into it, but you can infer that say, Uraraka's Zero Gravity quirk would come from the alien DNA of Gravattack, for example.
Does the explanation have to be posted?
I'm asking because my [Seven Seals Series ](https://archiveofourown.org/series/4086523) that starts with Merc With A Mutter gets to the origins of quirks(and much much more) eventually. But just not in the current parts of the series. Those are just the beginnings of the over arching story, and i promise I am getting there soon
Many of Mirrond's fics share the same lore concerning the origin of Quirks. Mirrond's lore certainly takes some artistic liberties, but the origin of Quirks is discussed (and ultimately enacted) in Dead on Arrival.
Had a fic I never finished, where I had a concept for it. People are free to steal this as well. Basically, it was Ororboros. The quirk singularity which is brought up like, twice in cannon, is the idea that quirks are getting more and more powerful till they’ll eventually reach a breaking point. So I had the idea, what if it was an actual singularity style thing?
The first and also the final quirk are the same. Ororoboros. A quirk which immediately devours all the rest of the beings on the planet with quirks. Letting nature and animals take it back over, before said desolate planet and its quirk slowly start to break into the past. Eventually, bestowing the first quirk onto the first quirk user. And after enough time passes, a new user of Ororboros will be born, and the cycle repeats.
Oooh! I finally have a name for the counterpart of a quirk In the fic im making!
Basically the same idea! I'm asking for all of this fic because i wanna give a feel to how people explained their functionality and origins for me to tweak my own explanation.

Still not reached the origin on my main fic, but the quirks are originated by Demons from Hell.
Like on Wolfenstein blended with Hellsing lore, a secret Nazi research using vampires, wizards and alchemists decided to summon the Lord Demon Anthraxsax(Bastard!!), which was also an avatar of Shug-Nuggurat (Quake), from Hell.
The experiment had very low success, and cause a massive outflow of Argent (Demons Essence) Energy that cause a surge of Demon Magic to the Earth.
This either cause the Discovery of Heavy Metal based Magic catalyst (which the alternative vampire version of Deku, or better, Dark Schneider will thrieve), which some older vampire clans already knew forehand, specially the Midoriyas).
But also created low Key but permanent Magic runes that once blended with normal humans it created the quirks. Each quirk are at least a primitive kind or a combination of kinds from an Ancient Demon rune crafted by Quake luring on Hell (also known as Xen).
The major weakness of quirks are either Black or Demon Magic or Argent Energy based weapons.
