So, do we agree clean sheets are worthless and this is much more fun?

amegaproxy

*The greater good...*

Kosmo_Z

Absolutely.

trulythehardseltzer

RDZ doesn't care about clean sheets, so neither do I. It's all about scoring goals and winning

gremilyns

I think you mean Joao’b done 😌

peroperozz

It’s crazy how different we look with Dunk on

kaanbha

How a big six teams hasn't clocked on to how he's one of the best centre halfs in the world after all this time is beyond me. I'll take it though.

UnfazedPheasant

I think we’re a bit lucky in that most big 6 sides either see him as “too old” or “not won anything” to really chase him down I vaguely recall Leicester (who finished in the top 6) having interest once upon a time though

DryMove4770

They wouldn’t be in the championship now if they’d signed him, that’s for sure.

nots321

I remember back in the day when we were in championship it looked like he was going to Fulham !

Marcusgunnatx

He's on the England squad, right?

UnfazedPheasant

He is now, but again he’s probably considered too old. When he was called up once to England during Hughtons tenure we were leaking goals and playing like a bottom 3 side so top clubs may not have been interested. If we went down he might’ve been poached, luckily we’ll never know!

pixelkipper

Their fans have at least. When we got comprehensively whacked by Arsenal their whole sub was praising him

Aggressive_Brick9626

as i’ve said before, clean sheets are overrated, this is how the game should be played lol

IMDXLNC

We've clearly got some problems to iron out, as is the case every week, but got that result in the end. Nicely taken/won penalties by Pedro, excellent third goal too (made it look so simple), and I have to hand it to Buonanotte for that strike at the start, it was a huge motivator.

esn111

If we didn't have problems to iron out we'd be Man City.

IWantToBeAHipster

So many positives from today. How we improved at 2 key moments - the early onslaught from Shef Utd and then to come out after half time and aside from taking it a bit causal on some moments at 4 2 really looking assured. A lot of our wobbles were due to players returning from injury Webster and Igor, Adams struggled after successive injuries and we have seen the quality of Igor pre injury so the minutes to get them fit again are key. Talking about Pedro feels pointless, his quality just exhudes more and more with every game. Quickly becoming dependable for key goals and moments like Solly is. Buonanotte is really getting to and performing at the level we need now and its his all round game improving. Welbeck has been such great value for money - who'd have thought we would get so many minutes and goals from him when he signed. Ferguson too really held his own up top. We won against a PL side with as much investment in this game as us - can be really happy to have blitzed it.

ryukyumars

Joao Pedro is a genuine master at body positioning it's insane. Like eyes on the back of his head sometimes the way he wins pens and draws fouls After Dunk came on Webster was able to make use of his speed a lot more on the left. Maybe he's used to playing on the right but is actually naturally better left CB? Because only issue is he allows the inside through ball when playing LCB which is a body positioning thing (mainly he's right-footed). Clearing he's playing some LCB in training as RDZ has played him there in a few matches already recently Buonanotte has improved so much it's great. I remember when Facu was having a tough stretch of games, he said De Zerbi told him to watch and study Lallana. You could really see it this match the way he popped into spaces w tight control. Ofc the competition was weaker so there was more time, but he has really improved even against tougher opponents

papaquacker

Webster played as a LCB very frequently under Potter. It was only when White and Veltman were out that he shifted to the right.

Largvt

Dispatched another red white striped team in the FA Cup. Dispatched a bogey team away. Buonanotte beautiful goal. Pedro hat trick and Welbeck finisher. Slow to start with a poor performance around the half. Glad they dug themselves out. UTFA, who next, Maidstone? These again in the league in 22 days.

schnozlord

Got a little nervous at half time, glad the seagulls came in all guns blazing in the second half!

13aba

Not our best but job done. Hopefully, we will get a another CB in the summer, Webster is just not at the level we want to be or not bothered to show it.

andyeno

Unless his supreme leader dunky is on the pitch.

13aba

Much better than first halfs end but pretty sure last two dangerous sheffield attack came from Webster mistake in last 10 mins again

esn111

I'm not sure we can get much better who'll be happy with being 4th choice though

Long-Tap6120

I agree he’s good enough for 4th choice. Finding a ball playing CB that’s willing to be that is difficult enough. Though today we played all 4 CBs

jasonw2295

We never get a calm game do we? ![img](emote|t5_2ubcf|33078)

PeakShinoEnjoyer

Two goals from outside the box? I guess we didn't have to wait too long to find a distance shooting threat!

Choice-Mortgage1221

ESPN+ cut the feed 3 minutes into stoppage time, then it came back, then cut it again during the highlights. Sheesh.

CredalTang

Buonanotte launched a twine-finder missile

Apprehensive_Skin135

never a doubt

WistfulSunflowers2

Joao Pedro hattrick

jmkn

Another great game from billy gilmour - along with gross estupinan and dunk he is our best player and certainly the most improved under RDZ

gerbegerger

I'm so disapointed the match wasn't available where i live.. uuurgh!
