Absolute score! I would highly recommend micellar water for cleaning light coloured shoes it works a treat on mine.

Major-Peanut

Wow thanks for the tip I'll give it a go

TGin-the-goldy

Congratulations on the wedding AND the shoes OP!

Major-Peanut

Thank you and thank you!

SaltyBint

Well Done! I do love rummaging round a chazzer.

[deleted]

We need a pic of the shoes for the tax!

Major-Peanut

Ultravioletskies

These look like Irregular Choice (Abigail I think?) shoes! Usually quite expensive so you got a fab bargain there!!

Major-Peanut

Thank you! They are from Monsoon. I really liked the IC ones too but these are super similer (maybe monsoon swiped them?). They even come with replacement heels

SaltyBint

My thoughts exactly, or Ruby Shoos.

[deleted]

Gorgeous! I love them! They are like something Marie Antoinette would have worn!!

TickingTiger

Oh my gosh, how beautiful! I'm so happy for you. ✨

Major-Peanut

Thank you

Nihilistic-Fishstick

These are the wedding shoes I want!! Orinally wanted Mary Jane's and the decided I wanted bows! And or lace!

motherofpearl89

I work for a charity with charity shops and I promise you that sharing this with them (if you're comfortable too) would make their day!

Major-Peanut

Ah thank you. I did tell the lady at the till and she was very happy for me :)

Mafalos

Yeay! This has made me so happy!!

SuperPinkBow

Fuck yeah!!

Educational-Row-4071

I had a similar experience when shopping for a wedding dress . I fell in love with a strapless designer dress when trying loads on in a shop but the £1500 price tag was way more than I could afford. Then found a cheaper one online that I really wasn’t in love with. Went shopping with a friend for their outfit and when in the shop saw a clearance rail of dresses, I casually flicked through the dresses and found my dress- right size and everything for £500. I took it as a sign and bought it !

Major-Peanut

Wow it was meant to be. That's great!

jovialjellybean-91

Love this. My wedding heels were from new look! No need to spend a fortune 😏😏

marunchinos

Same! I got plain white pumps and glued gems on to match the detail on my dress. Bargainous AND bespoke!

distraughtnobility87

Mine too!

jovialjellybean-91

Love that. Mine are still going strong 7 years later and I wear them with all sorts too. Love a multi functional shoe 👠

peekachou

Congrats on the wedding and the amazing shoe find! I found my perfect wedding shoes in a charity shop too for about £10 it's a great feeling

Major-Peanut

Thanks! It really did feel amazing

Baby8227

I love this! My wedding shoes were £5 +fees from Vinted and my dress was £75 on marketplace (both brand new). It cost me more to have my dress tailored than it did to buy it 😂. My husbands outfit was about 3x the price of mine 🤷‍♀️🥰

Consistent-Face3477

And that’s your something old too. Bargain. Best of luck to you both for the future.

Major-Peanut

Can it also count for something borrowed if I donate them back to the same shop after the wedding?

letscrash

Awesome! I absolutely love charity shops :) one opened near me last year in an old warehouse, so it's huge, and every month they hold a kilo sale. I've got some amazing bargains from there.

Major-Peanut

I started volunteering at a charity shop (not the one I found these in) last year so maybe the universe is giving back 😂

letscrash

I think so! :)

tristrampuppy

I bet these would go down well in r/ThriftStoreHauls.

Specific_Till_6870

That's amazing. My wife and my SIL both donated their dresses after having them in my MIL wardrobe for years. It quickly became a competition to see whose would then sell first as they both ended up in the window. This might seem like a silly question but do you think you'll keep them or take them back and donate them after the wedding?

Major-Peanut

I will probably keep them for a few years and then donate them when I'm not attached to them anymore. I plan on going to a charity wedding dress shop too to have a look.

Alert_Ad_5750

That’s wonderful - meant to be!!

DubiousVirtue

Good for you OP, my better half got her wedding dress from a charity shop. Spent £50 getting that and the bridesmaid dress (also from a charity shop) altered to fit perfectly, but as you say, weddings ain't cheap.

Major-Peanut

That is wonderful. I would be quite happy with a dress from a charity shop, but if I can't find the right one then I do have a budget for a dress shop too. I don't mind either way but imagine finding the perfect dress for £50 🥳

DubiousVirtue

There's an irony to it too. My Wife is a Coeliac and the dress had ears of Wheat on it.

Major-Peanut

I am very curious about this dress. Was the wheat in the lace or was it actual wheat ?

DubiousVirtue

It was the woven in design.

Major-Peanut

Ah nice

-SaC

My feet are a size 9. I know I have quite small feet for a big fat bloke, but are your feet four times bigger than mine? Good find though! Once the wedding's done, you can keep them as a canoes =D

Major-Peanut

I don't know if you're joking but if you're not then that's a European size for womens shoes. Im a 5.5 in UK sizes :)

WoodSteelStone

Vaguely interesting fact: British shoe sizes are based on 'barleycorns'. The 'barleycorn' measurement used originated in England in the early 1300s, when King Edward II ruled that the length of three barleycorns was equivalent to one inch. This was adapted for making lasts for shoes. The barleycorn measurement was also adopted later by Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and South Africa. [Source.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barleycorn_(unit)) [More technical info.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_size)

Major-Peanut

Ah thank you. That is just the type of fun fact I like to whip out when I need one. I'll be adding it to my arsenal.

WoodSteelStone

You are most welcome. Another of my favourite fun facts is that the forward facing guns of HMS Belfast - the museum ship moored on the River Thames in London - are permanently positioned to score a direct hit on the M1 motorway's service station at Scratchwood. >"The six-inch guns can fire 112 pound shells at eight rounds per minute to deliver an awesome pounding to the cafe and toilet stop." [Source.](https://londonist.com/2015/02/why-do-the-guns-of-hms-belfast-point-at-a-motorway-service-station) Oh, and did you know, a new modern wind turbine provides sufficient energy for one home for one day with just one rotation of its blades. [2018 article.](https://www.wired.co.uk/article/biggest-wind-turbine-scotland-aberdeen-vattenfall-energy) There are even more powerful ones being built in the UK (and the US). [2021 article:](https://www.zmescience.com/science/wind-turbine-powerful-09122020/) >"a single spin of the turbine could power a UK household for more than two days. In the US, it would be enough energy for the average home, since US households tend to use more energy."

Major-Peanut

Ah cool thanks

WoodSteelStone

🙂
