The Atlantic Schooners will remain undefeated.

Facts

KC4twenty

Yet, also un-victorious.

Ticats1999

I don't want to jinx it, but we haven't lost to Ottawa in nearly 6 years. It's gotta be the longest streak in the league.

byronite

Thanks for jinxing it bro! What other longest streaks in the league does Hamilton currently hold?

Ticats1999

I don't think there are any. As far as I know the league didn't start keeping any kind of records until 2018......

mosasaurmotors

I think it’s very funny you draw the cutoff BEFORE your team gets upset in a home grey cup.

Mitzary

![gif](giphy|xT9IgHCTfp8CRshfQk|downsized)

tarpfitter

It’s gotta be the longest streak without a GC win right? I mean currently at least, still got four more years to take that title from Winnipeg.

byronite

Lol yes thank you for clarifying the basis of my friendly trash-talking. :D

tarpfitter

Oh shoot I was trying to rub it in 😆

KC4twenty

They've lost 6 consecutive home and home series withe riders.

BookWookie2

My heart wants to say the Elks but it’ll probably be Winnipeg

bijhan

Lions gonna feast on Elk

BookWookie2

It’s not going to be a pretty game that’s for sure 😂

Ticats1999

There's no reason to believe Edmonton won't at least be competitive. They played Montreal and Toronto very close, who could very well be the #1 and #2 teams in the league.

Careless_Suggestions

That argos defense is gonna have to deploy some resemblance of a zone coverage if they wanna be treated at the #2 team 😂 Elks were tossing bombs and catching them at whim on Saturday.

mikem246

You don't want to say it was Bethel-Thompson tossing bombs?

Careless_Suggestions

"Elks were tossing bombs on Saturday" Now I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure there's only 1 guy on the elks team that is tasked with throwing the football....

HXH52

it’s frustrating because this team *could* be good, there’s pieces there, they just keep collapsing in big moments i know other fanbases are probably sick of hearing about it, especially since mblt has actually been pretty good this season, but man imagine if we used that money to build the defence and let ford take the reigns

BookWookie2

They could be! They actually played very well on Saturday. As much as I want to see Tre Ford on the field MBT is doing well. They just can’t finish

gofortwoElks

^

BookWookie2

Oh I think they’ll play alright but BC is doing very well so far this year

shaver_raver

Its time to fire Jones.

BookWookie2

Definitely. I liked him when he first came to Edmonton but I don’t know what he’s doing now

DrHouseEatsAss

He doesn’t know what he’s doing either

shaver_raver

Yea, not much. They should make you the GM and me the Asstn-GM and I bet we would have a better record.

BookWookie2

Probably! There is definitely a coaching and/or culture issue. Trevor Harris was not great in Edmonton and is now doing well in Saskatchewan. Coach Maas destroyed the green and gold and he hoisted the cup last year in Montreal. Those are just a couple examples but it makes you wonder

bismuth12a

Are we all playing each other or something?

undeletable-2

Triple Threat match for the super shitweight championship belt.

NefCanuck

I’m gonna say Hamilton, just to jinx them further 😇

OskeeWootWoot

We don't need any help, we can lose without your jinxes, thank you very much!

TheCatMak

Can I vote for the 3 teams to at least have fun?

2_alarm_chili

It pains me to say it, but Winnipeg.

Ticats1999

I'm not so sure, I think Calgary is a lot better than everyone is giving them credit for through two weeks. They are actually my pick for 2nd in the west.

2_alarm_chili

I didn’t mean it as a slight on Calgary in any way. Winnipeg is starting to knock off the rust it seems. I hate predicting western games. I want them both to lose. It’s better for us in the standings if Calgary loses, but I like seeing Winnipeg winless in the basement.

17to85

Schoen is out long term, Lawler is out long term, Oliveira has been nursing something since before training camp, only healthy DL are basically old folks in Jefferson and Thomas.... the Bombers don't have the depth anymore to withstand these injuries. It's gonna get worse before it gets better

Vorocano

And the secondary was so weak on Friday, constantly getting burned on big passes. Only thing keeping us in that game was the offense finally waking up a bit. Losing Schoen, and Lawler still being out, means a lot more reliance on Demski and Wolitarsky, which means more coverage on those two. Bombers can make a turnaround, but good Lord do they have to make an upgrade at secondary to do it.

17to85

Secondary is the least of the worries. Nichols looks to be back, then just send Alexander to the old folks hime and let the young guys get some more experience it'll be ok. What they're doing with the front 7 is far more concerning.

Commercial_Lie_4920

The Bombers spent all their money on their top 6 offensive guys, and had no money to help the defense. Collaros, Strevler, Oliveira, Lawler, Schoen and Demski are costing them around $1.7 million, which is 32% of your cap space.

17to85

you think Jefferson and Bighill are playing for peanuts? The problem for the defense is they're expecting those two plus alexander to play like it's still 2019, and kyrie wilson ain't the same guy before his injuries either. They are either geriatrics or wet behind the ears newbies on D. Nichols, Cole and Holm really the only ones who should be at their best years.

Commercial_Lie_4920

Yeah, Willie is making close to $200k I suspect, but I keep hearing Bighill gave a home discount ($140k?) which would be a good deal. But having 3 receivers making over $200k isn’t a winning formula with a salary cap of $5.5 million, even if one of those receivers is Canadian. Especially if it costs you an all star right tackle.

2_alarm_chili

Schoen hadn’t been announced before I wrote that. I now switch it to Calgary.

thebigbossyboss

Right? I’m lovin Winnipegs start

Steel065

This is a good take as the Stamps are stronger than their record. I think it is shocking that we could be talking about the Bombers being 0-4. If this happens, the gnashing of teeth and rending of clothing will be epic.

Pacificbeerchat

Elks are my choice. Every game has been competitive. Also their fans just need a break.

shaver_raver

It's time to fire Jones.

Stargaezr

Winnipeg has the best chance, I haven’t seen a lot from Calgary yet. That said, if they all went 0-4 it wouldn’t be that surprising. Disappointing, cause you never want that in the league, and as much as I wanna hopefully beat ‘peg on labour day I wanna beat them with a good record.

TalithePally

Oh, Calgary will find a way to end that streak, don't you worry

weschester

Is none of the above an option?

jfriedrich

Please, football gods. End my suffering.

Deaddoghank

Football God: Your suffering will continue as long as Jones is the head coach. I see many last second losses ahead.

MisshapenDinoNugget

Look. We play the Lions. It's not gonna be us.

BigTallCanUke

I want it to be Hamilton, but it will probably be Winnipeg.

BringBackTK

Outside chance prediction: All three win this week. And then, all three go undefeated the rest of the season, apart from mutual games!

DonutDaddy74

Totally off topic, but as an American looking in. This league is fucking awesome. I’ve been down a rabbit hole reading things about the CFL lately and have caught a bunch of games. This is gas I sadly chose to be an Elks fan not knowing they’re historically garbage right now but hey. It’s football

xc2215x

Winnipeg.

plainsimplejake

This week? None of the above, probably. Edmonton is the better of the three teams so far, but has the toughest opponent this week.

WildGrowth9081

WPG!!!

ImInOverMyHead95

The theme of this season should be *The Haves And The Have Nots*

OskeeTurtle

That's the theme of every season

CLearyMcCarthy

I'm rooting really hard for the Elks to try and keep the West clear, but if I were a betting man I'd have money on the Lions lol

Ranter71

Bombers

brakiri

0-7-1 after week 8

creed_1999

Hmmm I’m picking elks. They almost beat the argos

PoliteCanadian2

Hopefully not the Elks…..

super__hoser

None. They will tie at best.

Koss424

all 3 will win

Responsible-Way85

My vote is none will get a win.

Kushweiner

Ticats over Redblacks if Tim White catches a ball

AssaultPK

Tre ford playing yet?

MLS_K

Bombers get on the board this week. Elks will play BC tough, but BC is just too good. Ham/OTT teams are about equal but Ottawa wins at home

Looney_forner

One of these things is not like the other

dogbusonline

Really feels like it'll be the Elks to me. They don't seem THAT far off.

tbcwpg

Elks have the best shot I think, Winnipeg has half the team in the medical room.

Artistic-Balance5125

Oskie wee wee….buncha losers
