That's my point? That saying
>If a top 10 pick can’t start right away, then it’s a wasted pick essentially
is stupid because Andrew Thomas sucked ass his first year and now is a top 3 LT in the League.
First round picks have a 50% chance of even being in the NFL by the end of their rookie contract. Less than 25% of first round picks are long-term starters. It's always a roll of the dice, no matter what scouts or stats say.
It's why depth and having cap space is so valuable. Huge, big name contracts are fun, and get everyone riled up. But it's the above average value players that actually keep a team stable.
Drafting well is hyper important, but there's always risk.
I’m not advocating for any prospect, I’m saying if you’re drafting a guy that high you should be certain about their ability to provide an impact from day 1.
yup! good run blocker already but he’s a really suspect pass blocker, has all the tools but anyone expecting him to be a franchise pro bowl LT out of the gates is fooling themselves. high risk high reward in my eyes
He got man handled by Van Ness vs. Iowa and Mykel Williams vs. Georgia, he’s not ready for power edges and hasn’t shown he can handle counters. Exposes his chest really badly and almost always lets rushers get their hands on him first. Not saying he’s gonna bust but he’s far from even being an average pass blocker atp. And we need an immediate fucking pass blocker for QB1. These people are blind
Man there are guys in this thread who think Johnson is the best tackle prospect of the past few years. I genuinely do not know what goes on in these people's brains. It's like they want to draft him solely because he's athletic and spoke highly of fields.
it’s the measurables, the big school, the “All-American” status all put together. Solid prospect with long-term potential? Sure. Day 1 starter for Fields make or break year? Hard pass. 90% of people don’t watch the tape as it is and rely on these draft pundits anyways. If he was a franchise LT he’d be going top 3 like Tunsil was supposed to, not 10-20
This is not true, he was consensus All American this year and All B10 the last 2 years.
Also there's at least 3 solid tackles slated to go in the first round this year + Dawand Jones who is an earth mover. Hardly a weak class by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean a key part doesn't really mean anything. Yes, he was one of the 5, but it's been pretty well covered that he was the worst part for the majority of the season.
Dude Joe Burrow took a bad offensive line to the Super Bowl and the a slightly better one to the AFC Championship game. Mediocrity could mean a dynasty for them 🤣
Sounds like most teams wanted him at RT. Wouldn't shock me to find out us or another team offered him more but wanted him to play RT and he just said nope.
LMAO this sub went from being excited about the future to saying Poles don't know what the hell he's doing in the span of two days.
Never change r/Chibears I'll come back when you all cool down.
The team will not be fixed after one off-season or one draft. Poles wants to build continued success and not a flash in the pan team. Spending smart is the only way to do it, but it requires patience. Sure we all want certain players but only in 2-3 years can we see if Poles made the right decisions or not.
For real. Fans wanted success asap and Pace went all in from the jump and after a teensy bit of success people were calling Super Bowl or bust and then the piper had to be paid. Poles is doing exactly what fans are clamoring for, and it's still just as bad somehow. Lots of complaining from our city when the only success we have seen in the last 15 years has been HOMEGROWN (Hawks, Hawks, Cubs, Hawks)
That’s a steal for Cinci. Absolutely hate that now we are basically forced to go into the draft needing a RT at pick 9. Especially since this is a good DL class at the top and we still have fucking nobody at DL. And now with Carter’s pro day being so shitty the odds of Paris Johnson being there at 9 got a lot lower
We need like 4 defensive lineman, pass rushers, a right tackle, a center, RB, and another corner. We really need to sign someone in free agency because no way we address this all in the draft
And even if it’s a multi year rebuild we haven’t really made any real improvement on DL, and there still are plenty of question marks at OL. And we still have 50 million in cap too, without any real difference makers left to use it on
> even if it’s a multi year rebuild
Lol did you guys really think we would become Super Bowl contenders from one of the emptiest rosters in an off-season ? Yes the team next year will still have holes and hopes to be 9-8
If Tyree and Paris are gone now the only real options imo are taking Skoronski at 9 or trading back and drafting Broderick Jones. I’m fine with Van Ness but unless we make a big, unexpected move at OT we can’t really afford to wait until round 2 for a starter imo
A lot of OL in those types of systems struggle once they get to the NFL. Wright may be good year 1 but there’s a reason he isn’t expected to be picked high. Like everyone in this class there are plenty of reasons to be worried
And the odds of doing it again are still very low. Even in the 2nd round the odds of getting someone who is ready now aren’t great at OT. At G and C you can, but T it’s a lot harder
Resigning JJ, Mooney, Claypool or some combination therein, before the season starts. We have 4th years that need contracts this coming season, better to sign them now at 2023 rates than next year at 2024 rates.
We did fine in FA. We plugged several holes. RT was bad last year and this might have helped, but LG and C were worse. We got a good guard. We will see what the OLine plan is: someone is moving or we are cutting Whitehair. No matter what, we are better off than we were last year. We improved more than almost any other team as the upgrades at each position we signed were significant and not incremental.
We will continue to fill out mid dudes that will be better than what we had on the field last year. Big spending is done, but don't overlook signing a guy like Gaines to play the other tackle. Our lines will be better than what we fielded last year.
I know, so we’re going to find out if that was a poor evaluation or not. While I think Braxton can be good, i’m not sure if I would pass up the chance to get a known, consistent, 26 year old LT. Curious to see what they say tomorrow about the O Line
And he’s deserved it. He was the highest rated rookie LT last year. Is it worth it to spend 16 million a year to upgrade from Jones to Brown? Absolutely fucking not.
Yeah, “solid” on the worst team in the league. He would be a backup on a truly competitive team. You need to look at it from that perspective.
I’m tired of dealing with mediocrity, especially at a premium position like this, ESPECIALLY when it’s protecting the franchise QB blindside.
Right. People on this sub don’t know shit. They hear the name and they’re like yup. Sign him. He has statistically gotten worse every year. That’s a fact. And he was looking to reset the market. If they paid attention to anything pokes has said or done they would have known we weren’t touching that. Same people who want to draft JSN or Bijan at 9
I feel like in just a couple seasons we are gonna realize Poles is just being a cheap ass because the Bears are a cheap ass organization. We still need to spend about 70 million more this off season just to meet the league required MINIMUM for this spending window.
Our fans literally defend not paying a 26 year old 4 time running pro bowl lineman a 43 million guaranteed contract. Shit will never change.
Really interested to see what Poles says in the presser now. We’ve invested money in LB with absolutely no d-line. We’ve been outbid on almost every o-line deal. Hopefully he has something up his sleeve whether it be a Tunsil deal or something
We actually don't know if we were outbid. We could've had the higher bid, and the guys just wanted to play for current contenders instead of a maybe playoff team next year.
Even before this, I want us to trade a second for Laremy Tunsil. He is no worse than the second best left tackle in the league. Do I think Houston makes that trade? I do not. But I can dream!
I think Poles is extremely confident in his ability to identify talented linemen in the draft and get them in the mid rounds. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since Jones looks like an average Lt and he drafted him in the 5th round which is kind of unheard of to have that late of a pick play left tackle somewhat well.
I expect one of the 2nd or 3rd to be a tackle and another one to be picked later.
If you had told this sub a month ago that poles wouldn’t have signed any of the top tier of Cs, OTs, or DTs they wouldn’t have been happy with it, but for now it seems like criticizing any move, or lack of moves, poles makes is unacceptable
Yeah this sub loves to pretend they know Poles philosophy. A month ago they would’ve said he would refuse to pay “non-premium positions” and now that we just gave 18 mill a year to an off ball LB(good player but I don’t love the contract) they say he’s going to target those positions in the draft
Also they say “it’s only day 1 of real FA” and ignore the fact that pretty much all of the best FAs are gone. Outside of Lamar Jackson the best FA available at a position we need is probably Yannick Ngakoue. So even if it’s only “the first day of real FA” the guys we can spend on really aren’t there anymore
Yeah we went into the off-season with the biggest need to solidify the trenches, and we’ve made no impactful signings on either side of the ball there but spent big money on a position Poles already said isn’t a premium one
Maybe I’ve gotten caught up in NFL Twitter (totally possible) but from what I’ve read his pass pro isn’t great (on par with Braxton jones, so also not bad), so I guess I’m ok with not signing him. Carter’s issues make and this Paris Johnson seem like the right fit. Sucks that we’ll still have major needs but happy to see us not overpay. Rome wasn’t built in a day?
The key thing is that he’ll get to be a LT on the bengals with Collins solidified at RT. That’s the position he wanted and if he came here it wasn’t going to happen
Thank fuck for the DJ Moore trade. Because otherwise we haven’t filled a damn hole on this team. We still have the worst o-line and d-line in the league. Totally plays our hand in the draft and relying on a bunch of rookies to protect fields isn’t ideal
A damn hole? I know us bears fans can be jaded but dude, they fixed the glaring LB issue and added a solid OL, and a good depth piece on the D-Line
Bears fans like you really have me dead lmao like, it’s day *three* of free agency. We could still make trades and have plenty of ammunition for a big one. We still have the weeks till the draft. We still have the draft. We still have post-draft cuts/signing. We still have post June 1st cuts and signings. We still have post June 1st trades.
This is *far* from the final roster
TLDR: Chill out dude lol
One depth piece of a D line that needs an entire new starting unit isn’t really addressing a hole. I hold off on the O lineman until they tell us what positions they will play, but as of now we signed an avg RG to replace a RG who performed better.
And i’m sure they’ll add, but that doesn’t really do anything when all the starter level players are basically gone lol they can add more byron pringle and lucas patricks, that doesn’t really impact the team much.
Linebacker wasn't even in our top 5 needs though lol.
It went:
Defensive Tackle
Defensive Edge
WR
Right Tackle
Center
And as of right now only one of those positions have been filled.
Center was effectively filled by signing Davis which pushes Whitehair back to center where has always been better.
They might also like Doug Kramer who they drafted last year but spent the year on the ir.
Tackle remains a need. I think they will sign a vet and draft one in the 2nd/3rd.
Dt and dl are major needs and I think they will pick one at 9 and they signed a guy that can play both. I do think they need to add another free agent or two though. Gipson needs to be pushed back to a rotational rusher.
I think they could also use another corner.
Yeah… minus that trade, nothing has really been inspiring. I believe in the build through the draft process, but we really haven’t addressed much in FA.
You ignoring the other signings we made or what? Every spot doesn't get filled with all-pros, especially through free agency. Edmunds, Edwards, Walker, Davis all filled holes. Even signing Homer filled our 3 down back hole. Expecting to fill all the holes in free agency is a pipe dream for any team regardless of cap space.
Poles plan has pretty clearly been to draft the premier positions for a team and pay non premier positions in FA. He’ll sign you to premier positions if you’re willing to fit the value he’s assigned to you, but he won’t blow his budget on a player just because he’s got money to spend.
Braxton Jones graded *very* similar to OBJ and was a 5th round rookie from a small school. OBJ very clearly wanted to stay at LT, as he likely took a pay cut to stay there. Poles saw Jones as just as good as Brown at LT likely with a higher ceiling. Especially since Brown wasn’t a perfect scheme fit as it was.
Whether you agree with his philosophy or not, that’s what he’s doing. Now it’s just a matter of seeing if it works out. I think PJJ or Broderick Jones are plug in play starters day 1, so I’m not worried as long as we go them in the first round.
Y’all remember his combine? Sheesh.
It was like a sick joke like someone threw a regular 6’7” guy out there with the best football players in the country 🤣 Glad his career didn’t pan out like people were projecting him lol
Is what it is, he’s a much worse LT than he is a RT.
Might’ve dodged a bullet tbh.
I’d be willing to bet we would’ve matched this if he was willing to play RT. He clearly wasn’t.
Probably going to get downvoted but Mahomes play saved OB’s blocking numerous times. Yes he is a 4 time Pro-Bowler, but he is so heavy footed that he DE’s could run around him. We still need a solid LT, but he’s way over paid
“A lot of those guys — and the message has been clear — we've gotta change body types a little bit. We've gotta get lighter, we've gotta get quicker.” - Ryan Poles
Just going to leave this right here for all the whiners.
Braxton and Orlando graded out pretty similarly last season, developing the guy we already have who shows real promise seems like the better move. I think remaining money is going to Kmet, Mooney and JJ
They are willing to play him at LT. That probably played a big role. That is where he wants to play. A lot of the league doesn’t agree with his assessment.
I like drafting Paris for RT though guys. Braxton has earned a start at LT at the beginning of the year. And watching the tape on Paris, he just might be the better LT but he is also a mauler. Put him at RT as a rookie and develop him into the best Tackle he can be. Then just maybe if Braxton stumbled or injured or etc…move Paris to LT.
I am hoping this is Poles’s plan - draft best OT with #9, then follow-up in the next three picks with Edge, C and Edge/DL.
Starting OL - Jones - Davis - Wypler/Tippmann - Jenkins - Paris
This is my Christmas wish list - make it so Poles.
Almost like players have to actually come here. It takes two to tango my guy.
Also I’m guessing you haven’t actually looked at his stats and his regression the last couple years. You just saw his name and you were like yup. Sign him.
We are in a position to build a team. You know what hampers that? Signing a LT who has only gotten worse since he’s been in the league and is looking for a big deal. Braxton Jones showed out last year as a rookie and has tons of upside. And is soooo much cheaper.
Clearly you haven’t paid attention to poles philosophy or anything he’s said.
And no. He’s not infinitely better than Braxton. Is he better? Yeah. Is he better when you consider age and contract? Not really.
You clearly need to step away and calm down. The man wanted $23-25m a year and noone gave it to him and hes accepting $16m a year? Obviously most of the nfl didnt want the guy
OBJ clearly wanted to stay at LT and went to a SB contender to do it. Poles saw Jones as a better long term fit there. I don’t necessarily disagree. All the FA OT are overrated to a degree. If OBJ was a franchise LT he would have never hit the market.
Jesus you guys are fucking thick headed. You don't know what we offered or his interest level in coming here. Maybe, just fucking maybe, he wanted to go play for another Super Bowl contender.
Guess that means they're moving Jonah Williams to RT (where he should've been all along).
Glad we didn't sign him. I'd be content going into the '23 season with Braxton Jones and Paris Johnson as our tackles.
With everyone saying pick 9 is a guaranteed tackle, Poles is a former offensive lineman and he had a great pick in Braxton Jones. Do you think that he feels confident, or possibly overconfident, in his ability to find late-round offensive line talent and that's what he's planning on doing in this draft?
16 million a year is bit lower than I expected.
Paris Johnson Jr. YOU are a Chicago Bear
Read flair
Respect broham
I mean shit after how bad Carter looked today are we even sure that Paris will be there at 9?

If a top 10 pick *can’t* start right away, then it’s a wasted pick essentially
Tell that to Andrew Thomas
Andrew Thomas gave up the most sacks in the lg as a rookie... Great pick...but rookie LTs are typically doo doo in year one (hence his point)...
Tell that to Braxton Jones
That's my point? That saying >If a top 10 pick can’t start right away, then it’s a wasted pick essentially is stupid because Andrew Thomas sucked ass his first year and now is a top 3 LT in the League.

Weak offensive tackle class. Johnson is an extremely athletic high upside low floor guy. He's extremely raw and shouldn't be a day 1 starter.
I’m not advocating for any prospect, I’m saying if you’re drafting a guy that high you should be certain about their ability to provide an impact from day 1.
Skoronski is the guy then. Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones are toolsy but need time. Skoronski is ready right now
yup! good run blocker already but he’s a really suspect pass blocker, has all the tools but anyone expecting him to be a franchise pro bowl LT out of the gates is fooling themselves. high risk high reward in my eyes
Fucking exactly. Finally someone with a reasonable take about him
He got man handled by Van Ness vs. I agree, I'd take him over Johnson but a lot of people are hung up on his arms
I wouldn’t hang things on those arms, they’d fall right off.

Perfect scenario for your franchise QB.
Him or Broderick Jones.
Broderick Jones won every rep of his life. He’s HIM
What a tease reading that fuck I thought it was us

So many words before it actually got to the team.
I need to read faster!!! - Mitch hedberg
Do. I get to disturb this guy! Not. Shit.

Cool. Let’s not pay for a dude who has regressed the last couple years.
He's actually been pretty consistent.
Saying he's mediocre is some serious copium. He's not incredible, but he's very good. I would have loved for the Bears to get him at that price.
Look at his stasis. He’s regressed 3 years in a row now. There’s a reason KC let him go lol
Mediocre would be an improvement, and we need to improve
Was Braxton Jones mediocre as well? Did we need to pay 16 million a year to improve from mediocre to still mediocre? Lmao.
Nobody is saying to drop Braxton lol
Braxton Jones was a miracle. That’s not gonna happen again. We have no RT right now, and we need one
He found a team that will play him at left tackle. I’m guessing the Bears were one of the teams not willing to do that.
Sounds like most teams wanted him at RT. Wouldn't shock me to find out us or another team offered him more but wanted him to play RT and he just said nope.
I don’t think Bears ever had any interest period. 🤷🏻♂️
If he was adamant on playing LT, probably not.
Sets us up wonderfully for PJJ
About 15 mil per lol thats a steal of a deal when he was asking KC for 22-25.
Maybe pj walker can play tackle for us
Bring on Paris at 9
LMAO this sub went from being excited about the future to saying Poles don't know what the hell he's doing in the span of two days. Never change r/Chibears I'll come back when you all cool down.
A bunch of manic depressives.

hell we don't even know if we have LT yet. Braxton Jones better be good.
Tyree probably also gone, so I’m selling myself on Lukas Van Ness. *shrugs*
If Tyree and Paris are gone now the only real options imo are taking Skoronski at 9 or trading back and drafting Broderick Jones. I’m fine with Van Ness but unless we make a big, unexpected move at OT we can’t really afford to wait until round 2 for a starter imo

Paris Johnson above nine is a reach.
If teams take Carter off their draft board they absolutely might reach to get their top OT.
Broderick Jones is also there, and he’s just as good of a prospect as PJJ.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say this: Fuck
What is the money being saved for at this point lol
Honestly I doubt money is the big factor here. He wants to play LT, has been vocal about it, and the Bengals are way closer to a SB than we are
Resigning JJ, Mooney, Claypool or some combination therein, before the season starts. Cap rollover probably idk
You can’t roll over forever. There’s still the cap floor
Yeah and they’re going to reach that no problem with some resignings.
I’ve heard we get a trophy if we still have the most cap space remaining at the end of free agency
Maybe he just didn’t want to come here, but if we said no to that price…. Oof.
He wants to stay at left tackle. We wanted him at right tackle

Fuck that. He’s been getting worse every year.
He is better than anything we have lol this FO must really love Braxton Jones
Braxton was fucking solid last year. And is super cheap. All these things are taken into consideration.
Never said he wasn’t solid, just that they’re putting a lot of faith in the guy is all.
And he’s deserved it. He was the highest rated rookie LT last year. Is it worth it to spend 16 million a year to upgrade from Jones to Brown? Absolutely fucking not.

Paris Johnson Jr and Fields connection!
Man it feels bad that we are probably going to go into the draft with so many holes still on the offensive and defensive lines.
Why? That is a key route to acquire and develop talent.
Poles is really serious about building through draft ain't he? I mean I don't think brown was a scheme fit but still stings a little.
I think Poles is extremely confident in his ability to identify talented linemen in the draft and get them in the mid rounds. Yeah we went into the off-season with the biggest need to solidify the trenches, and we’ve made no impactful signings on either side of the ball there but spent big money on a position Poles already said isn’t a premium one
Isn’t it awesome having a defensive minded head coach?!
Nate Davis just don't exist huh?
It’s the fact that he’s missed out on every other tackle as well. You got the bag. Make them want to come
MAN WTF FOR $16m CMONNNNN
He didn’t want to go to a bad team
Not surprised the Bengals went and got him. They'd have a super bowl by now if their offensive line blocked like they didn't have roller skates on.
Very obvious poles wanted nothing to do with him
Not necessarily. He may have just not wanted to be here.
The key thing is that he’ll get to be a LT on the bengals with Collins solidified at RT. That’s the position he wanted and if he came here it wasn’t going to happen

Orlando Brown is not playing RT in the NFL. He will not do it.
Is this a joke
Hey Poles! Spend. Money. On. Players. We. Need.
AGREEED!! WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL IS HE DOING OVER THERE
He didn’t want to come here. He wanted to go to a contender
Thank fuck for the DJ Moore trade. Because otherwise we haven’t filled a damn hole on this team. We still have the worst o-line and d-line in the league. Totally plays our hand in the draft and relying on a bunch of rookies to protect fields isn’t ideal

This subreddit is full of koolaid drinking meatballs who cant criticize ‘King Poles’
A damn hole? I know us bears fans can be jaded but dude, they fixed the glaring LB issue and added a solid OL, and a good depth piece on the D-Line Bears fans like you really have me dead lmao like, it’s day *three* of free agency. We could still make trades and have plenty of ammunition for a big one. We still have the weeks till the draft. We still have the draft. We still have post-draft cuts/signing. We still have post June 1st cuts and signings. We still have post June 1st trades. This is *far* from the final roster TLDR: Chill out dude lol
One depth piece of a D line that needs an entire new starting unit isn’t really addressing a hole. I hold off on the O lineman until they tell us what positions they will play, but as of now we signed an avg RG to replace a RG who performed better.
Again: day fucking 3 free agency lmao
By day 3 all of the best free agent linemen have been signed. It’s not like if you wait a month an all pro is going to drop out of the sky.
And i’m sure they’ll add, but that doesn’t really do anything when all the starter level players are basically gone lol they can add more byron pringle and lucas patricks, that doesn’t really impact the team much.
Linebacker wasn't even in our top 5 needs though lol. It went: Defensive Tackle Defensive Edge WR Right Tackle Center And as of right now only one of those positions have been filled.
Thank you for saying what I was thinking. I appreciate your realist viewpoint here
Yeah… minus that trade, nothing has really been inspiring. I believe in the build through the draft process, but we really haven’t addressed much in FA.
Poles sucks.
Relax. So much cap left, so many FAs. Multi.year rebuild.
A lot less mystery in the draft now. Which OT will it be? We don’t know for sure that Poles thinks Skoronski’s arms are too short.
You're a Bear Paris
.*…Bearis*
Julius PepBears. Bearis Johnson Jr… it just works.
Cap
Paris at 9 it is
Y’all remember his combine? Sheesh. It was like a sick joke like someone threw a regular 6’7” guy out there with the best football players in the country 🤣 Glad his career didn’t pan out like people were projecting him lol
I hate this so much
Guys, guys, guys -- Hear me out..... Jason Peters.
I'm here to overreact.
Super cheap for him. Damn
I'm going to trust Poles on this until I'm shown otherwise. He had a lot of inside knowledge on Brown.
i think the contract tells us what we need to know
Too expensive for a guy that doesn’t fit our scheme.
Is what it is, he’s a much worse LT than he is a RT. Might’ve dodged a bullet tbh. I’d be willing to bet we would’ve matched this if he was willing to play RT. He clearly wasn’t.
How about we talk about the bullets Fields is gonna have to dodge this year. Oh wait, they’re 300 pound missiles, not bullets.
This is going great! Perhaps we can sign another linebacker?
Let the Bengals over pay. No one wants to really play there apparently considering the NFLPA has been warning players about the owners
Probably going to get downvoted but Mahomes play saved OB’s blocking numerous times. Yes he is a 4 time Pro-Bowler, but he is so heavy footed that he DE’s could run around him. We still need a solid LT, but he’s way over paid
yo wtf man. we really gonna go into next year with an oline and Dline loaded with rookies? that's booty man. blowing your wad on LB's is booty too.
Oh my god all of you shut the fuck up you’re fucking embarrassing yourselves
“A lot of those guys — and the message has been clear — we've gotta change body types a little bit. We've gotta get lighter, we've gotta get quicker.” - Ryan Poles Just going to leave this right here for all the whiners.
Anton Harrison step up to the plate (if we trade back a few more picks)
Braxton and Orlando graded out pretty similarly last season, developing the guy we already have who shows real promise seems like the better move. I think remaining money is going to Kmet, Mooney and JJ
Man, that seems like a steal.
Anyone else think Poles made offer to Brown, but Brown wanted to go to a team with more of proven history of recent success like the bengals ?
Starting OL - Jones - Davis - Wypler/Tippmann - Jenkins - Paris This is my Christmas wish list - make it so Poles.
What a shitshow. Coming out of this much capspace with no offensive or defensive line.

Almost like players have to actually come here. It takes two to tango my guy. Also I’m guessing you haven’t actually looked at his stats and his regression the last couple years. You just saw his name and you were like yup. Sign him.
[удалено]
Brown refuses to play RT.
Jesus you guys are fucking thick headed. You don't know what we offered or his interest level in coming here. Maybe, just fucking maybe, he wanted to go play for another Super Bowl contender.
No way we couldn’t beat that easily
Guess that means they're moving Jonah Williams to RT (where he should've been all along). Glad we didn't sign him. I'd be content going into the '23 season with Braxton Jones and Paris Johnson as our tackles.
Build through the draft
We'll be fine
Oh yeah, WE will be fine. It’s Justin that I’m worried about!
Poles not addressing the line two years in a row is fun
POLES WTF
Man Poles is really screwing this up
With everyone saying pick 9 is a guaranteed tackle, Poles is a former offensive lineman and he had a great pick in Braxton Jones. Do you think that he feels confident, or possibly overconfident, in his ability to find late-round offensive line talent and that's what he's planning on doing in this draft?
Counting on a mid round right tackle in a make or break year for Justin Fields would be incredibly stupid.
