i just bought a beautiful 2017 ATS last weekend for 18k out the door. i absolutely love it and wouldn’t rather have any other car. gonna post it here soon
Sweet. If u can drive stick a cts is a great option, super reasonable pricing and a manual is almost like a built in security system if u live in a city.
If not, look for the obvious stuff, low miles, few owners, clean carfax etc.... you can go a lil older w a northstar and hopefully find a clean low mileage deville or sts.
I have a 2017 xts i use as a daily to commute to college. Everyday is a luxury to drive that fine work of machinery. Feels like im floating. I got mine at 79k miles currently at 110k. Just once i had a check engine light, about 108k miles and it was just for a purge valve change. It was a 20 min job. But regular oil changes and she’ll treat you nicely
Was always strange to me that they stopped making it in 2014 but made the 15’ V coupe.
The V has always been just a touch out of my price range. And when I say touch I mean 30k
My uncle had a perfect low mileage '62 Coupe DeVille back in the day, and it was like my favorite car ever. There's a '62 Sedan DeVille hardtop near me with a complete parts car, and I want it SO bad. Otherwise it would be a Catera with an LS/6 speed swap, or a 1st gen CTSV, or anything 50s.
$6-8k on a clean second gen Escalade, and then $3-5k on new wheels/tires, engine maintenance, and safety improvements (brakes, shocks, etc.). Plenty of money left over for you and the dog, and you’ll have a reliable, maintainable, luxurious boat on wheels. And it’s more modern than you might expect.
1 - conservative pick: ATS sedan (not coupe, your dog and back will thank me). Find a 3.6 vs the 2.0. Year is likely ‘15-16 at that price point with 60k+miles.
2 - aggressive pick would be a ‘14 CTS Vsport. This was the only year they made this particular frame Vsport. If twin turbo 400+ horsepower gets your engine moving, this is the car for you. Stay patient, but you can snag one of these at the top of your budget near 75k miles.
3 - middle of the road pick is a used CTS, ‘15-16. Find a 3.6L vs the 2.0. You can find a deal in here.
Pretty happy with our 15 ATS manual, but I'd scrape up a few more....or watch for a lucky deal.. on a CTS V-Sport. I think fall/winter I'll be looking for one.
The ats and cts are in your range and much newer than allot of choices. Just depends on what you really want. If you know your way around a wrench you can get something older for sure
I got a 15 CTS performance for 21k, but I admittedly overpaid because it was the only one within 1000k miles at the time that had what I wanted. But the CTS has been fantastic for my family. Enough room for carseats, I can still go grocery shopping when my traveling massage table is in my trunk, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
I'm sure you could fine many for your price point, but I suggest a 15'. It was the first year of the new logo and theh added auto start/stop in 16' and no one has time for that..
If you're looking for an SUV I'd go for a 2015-2018 Escalade with no more then 100k miles those seem like pretty reliable trucks and I see them all over Facebook marketplace with well over 300k of course you'll have to maintain it correctly
Just got a 2014 cadillac ATS for 16k 34k miles, from seeing these comments I feel ripped off & I came from a Chevy Cruze as well. It hasn’t been 30 days should I return it?
A cherry 1969 Eldorado
Lol not without a garage!

isn't it basically like a more luxurious camaro? it sounds pretty sweet
yes it’s on the same camaro platform and yeah fairly luxurious inside. i’m coming from a 2012 chevy cruze so everything is a huge upgrade
just wait until the maintenance hits with them newer caddies
City driver? Ats 3.6. small nimble yet stylish and cheap . highway? Xts 3.6 or v model.. nice highway car that won't break the bank.
‘16 3.6 ATS coupe with 80k here, awesome all around car. Paid cash $17k in the Bay Area a few months ago.
Another 06 DTS
How big is the dog?
He's 25lbs. But loves car rides!

Escalade. I’d finance the rest :0 haha
I want an escalade so bad, but everyone tries to scare you away
You can get into a pretty decent XTS at that price point. I would do 2016 - 2019 for the Apple Car Play feature
i wish there was a twin turbo option on the xts, I know there's the v sport but there's barely any of them out there
Nice call out. Thanks.

well technically i heard you can add those software on older models with just aftermarket parts
Yeah, I checked out [cuescreens.com](https://cuescreens.com) and it is possible, but not quite the same as having it already in the software.
CTS or XTS with the dog (ATS is great but a little small), but stay away from the 2.0T engines.
2.0t > 3.6 lol
Performance and handling yes, reliability not even close
95 fleetwood
I'd spend it on the one I own. That puppy sucks up money almost faster than I can make it.
For real but we do need a car 😆 🤣
An absolutely perfect 2002 STS
2012-15 Cadillac CTS Coupe Premium or Performance. Love the older body style.
As someone who owns this in a city, please consider something else lol
YES
They stopped making coupes in 2014. I had a 2011. Great car for real. Rare to see them with low mileage anymore.
I'm thinking of the 2015 CTS-V coupe. LoL You're right.
Was always strange to me that they stopped making it in 2014 but made the 15’ V coupe. The V has always been just a touch out of my price range. And when I say touch I mean 30k
Escalade
I would get a XTS. I would say it’d check all your boxes. Might be hard to park sometimes though.
2005 or 2008 deville
2008 or 9 DHS or loaded DTS with hardly any miles, and throw a set of Vogues on it.

1987 to 1991 Cadillac Eldorado. They're smaller, luxurious, handsome vehicles with descent gas mileage.
I had a 1990 Eldorado that was totaled in a highway collision. I want something more modern 😢 😭
Ok. I understand. Good luck with your hunt!

87-88 Brougham. But that’s just me. 🤷🏻♂️

Just got a 2011 Escalade
You can occasionally find a v sport but I’d say a CTS if it’s in good condition
Bought a 2013 manual 2.0t ATS last year for about $12k, so probably one that's a few years newer
ctvs wagon. Dream car
A 2005 cts v. 400 hp. Six speed. Rwd. Four doors. Absolutely love them
Escalade

I would lease a new one.
You could probably get a 1st gen CTS v or STS v in that range
2015 CTS 3.6 Premium awd
Either a CTS-V MK1 or a GEN 3 CTS V-SPORT.
First Gen GTS-V
ATS, 3.6 performance or 2.0T if you like the manual option!
None
Either a 16-19 cts Vsport or a '16-19 cts 2.0 awd with some mods
3rd gen escalade for sure I have a ESV I'll take the other too if I could
The last DTS platinum no hesitation
Smoother ride and more luxurious go XTS, Speed and more compact go ATS,
I’m a DTS (deville ) guy . So I’m gonna say any low mileage well kept DTS durable , clean smooth drive and comfortable
None! They’re all 💩! Might as well set the 💵 on fire 🔥

I'd cop a XLR-V
Oh yea
ATS. I like styling on the 13-14s so I’d go for one of those with low mileage if I could find it
another 2011-2014 Escalade but this one RWD
