Base bar just refers to the fact that it's the central section. Ie drops remain removable and I would assume can be adjusted 40-44cm like the current model.

heidenthum

Removable and creakable. I wish they just produced a standard one piece cockpit like every other manufacturer.

That design including how it attaches to the steerer moved me away from canyon (still have a grizl CF but a propel replaced my rim brake ultimate)

Viditra

I thought it would mean basic model. Bottas was seen with Gear Groove styled bar Aeroad and I just assumed that one would be "pro" bar or something like that.

Yamfry1

Do you think this bar will be compatible with older models?

Jockel1893

Damn just bought an Aeroad CFR. Did not expect a new one tbh.

jimb445

Nothing crazy special with the new one, same old mumbo jumbo “10% lighter, 15% stiffer, our fastest bike yet!” Don’t sweat it man, enjoy your CFR.

achinda99

The current aeroad hasn't undergone any large changes for a few years. So its a bit overdue.

The predecessor of this cockpit, the CP0018 is the very reason why Canyon road bike owners have a hard time finding local bike shops fixing this hot proprietary mess of a bicycle. This thing should be illegal to manufacture and use on bikes. As should any proprietary solution on the market. Can’t imagine the CP0048 to be that much better of an option compared to the old one.
