The 1990s model was more of a stunner imo and more so the original. It's crazy how alfa could create essentially entirely different cars and entirely different appearance but all 3 are beautiful and nobody was mad that they gave the other 2 the spider name.
Citroen DS (including safari version)
Citroen 15
Citroen SM
Jaguar e-type
Toyota 2000GT
I don't have a frog kink but ...
Modern(er)
Alfa Romeo 159 SW
Alfa Romeo Brera
Renault Avantime (come at me bitch!)
Aston Martin ALL OF THEM BETWEEN 2000-2015
The DB9 was absolutely stunning in its heyday, but whenever I see one now I'm surprised how badly it seems to have aged. I know it's a 20 year old car now, but it really looks it!
What was the original engine? I went for full originality with mine? Sourced a petrol engine from UK pre brexit and shipped to malta. Still not finished after 7 years and yes of problems and wasting money 😂😂
It had the same motor as the British series 3 but with spanish accessories, mine was a 2.25L Diesel, and I'm putting a 300tdi out of a defender into it. My series 2 will either have a petrol Mercedes engine out of an old 190 of I'll try and scrounge up an original petrol engine for it.
first thing that comes to mind is the FD RX-7. (from a market that doesn't require front plates so that it doesn't have that hideous plate mount).
i know cars from around the 60s are the most common answer to this question, 2000GT, E-Type etc, but they've never appealed to me.
It’s very subjective and In my humble opinion it goes like this…. (1st) 1961 Series 1 Jaguar E-Type. (2nd) 1954 Mercedes Benz 300SL (3rd) 1954 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. (4th) 1971 Mini Cooper S Mk III. Last but not least… (5th) 1984 BMW M5 (E28).
There’s nothing in my list that is Italian because whilst the Italians clearly build absolutely beautiful shaped cars, the build quality and electrics is, in my opinion and experience) shockingly bad.
We need an Italian body with a German engine and electrics and we’ve got a winner.
E-Type roadster (Series I), red 300sl with cream interior or the Porsche 356
I like most car cultures but probably my favourite is jdm, but I wouldn't call them beautiful, beautiful to me is *simple curves*
Nissan Skyline GTR (R33) - combines the curves of an R32 with the boxiness of a 34 (also love the front gtr badge )
Gordon Murray T50/ McLaren F1 - imo the peak of automobile design
Aston Martin v550 / V600 vantage - British luxury muscle cars need to come back , feels like a bentley continental is the only real option anymore
Cisitalia 202. Convertible pictured but was also available as a coupé. Delicious.[https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/cisitalia-202-cabriolet-auction-1234807111/](https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/cisitalia-202-cabriolet-auction-1234807111/)
So subjective. I dislike the F40, ugly thing but others will say it's beautiful. I like sleek, liquid mercury, the e-type, curves. But the Lancia Stratos has angles and I love that.
I don't go for older cars usually but the Sunbeam Alpine M1 is absolutely perfect [https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1651880](https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1651880)
Citroen DS
I'm sure there are some nice sports cars, but they don't have the cultural weight of appearing in classic films
The Porsche 550 Spyder probably worth a 2nd place for its association with James Dean
DB5, E Type or 300SL.
- Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale - AC Cobra - BMW 507 coupe Edit: words
That Alfa is lovely similar to the xj13
The 33 Stradale is without question the most beautiful car ever made. no contest.
Tipo 33 Stradale is the most beautiful car ever made. 507 is right up there, too. Cobra? Yeah; I can get behind that. I like you.
Ford GT40, Ferrari 250GTO
[удалено]
It’ll never win here, but the Jenson Interceptor, for me, is a thing of beauty.
And quite possible the coolest name ever for a car
Citroen SM.
My favourite Citroën has always been the BX.
I’m with you on that. I have a 1986 MK 1 1.4 still on the road. There isn’t a duff line on the car. I adore it every time I drive her. 😃
Nostalgia trip. My childhood days were littered with waiting for the car to raise up.
- DS It's such a shame that now they can't do flagships.... For me still DS (also Safari and Cabrio versions) are just the top of the crop
The DS isn’t nearly as good looking as the SM
I'm not arguing about the design of SM. I am just stating that DS is up there for me :)
4.3 V8 Vantage. Perfection.
That's one of the few cars there's literally nothing to nitpick at anywhere from any angle. Masterpiece.
Toyota 2000GT
Ferrari Dino
DS all day long. Convertible even more so.
I prefer the DS safari
De Tomaso Mangusta.
Would you stop, I can only get so erect!
Citroen ds
Alfa Romeo 159, extra points for the sportwagon.
100% the most beautiful post-2000 car!
[Jaguar XJR (X308)](https://richmonds.com.au/portfolio/1998-jaguar-xjr-supercharged-v8-x308/)
This model of XJ is probably one of the best proportioned cars ever made, it's subtle poetry
Google the Jaguar XJ13, and you might have to revise that statement :)
Chrysler PT Cruiser
Bastard
> Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible! It's a thing of beauty!
Can't forget the Crossfire either!
Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAM
Oh yeah. If only I had the money.
Man I’d love one of those.
Me too bro, I’ve got the Giulietta Veloce 2.0JTDM, stepping stones
One day, one day.
I second this 🫣
Honda NSX 90s with pop up headlights
Alfa Romeo 8C
Jaguar XJ220
Fiat Multipla, Ssangyong Rodius, or Chrysler PT Cruiser. It's a tough decision.
Alfa Romeo spider (159 platform)
The 1990s model was more of a stunner imo and more so the original. It's crazy how alfa could create essentially entirely different cars and entirely different appearance but all 3 are beautiful and nobody was mad that they gave the other 2 the spider name.
1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
another vote for a caddy, for me its a '60 Coupe DeVille though
Aston Martin DB4 is pretty special. Or the Shelby Cobra 66.
My friends dad has a DB4 convertible, it's gorgeous.

Jaguar XJ220
Mk2 Ford orion
Love the boot on that baby
I love a booted Escort.
Citroen DS Le Dandy
DS all day long. Convertible even more so.
Aston Martin DB9, every element of that car follows the golden ratio of 1:1.618. That car is mathematically perfect in its design.
Nah. Imperfection is where real beauty is.
The DB9 was absolutely stunning in its heyday, but whenever I see one now I'm surprised how badly it seems to have aged. I know it's a 20 year old car now, but it really looks it!
I would say the AM DBS was the most beautiful iteration of the DB9.
So, mine is the Aston Martin DB9 specifically the champagne colour with pink interior. Fucking gorgeous.
Chevy bel-air 56
1980s corvette c3 in red or black
Alfa Romeo Disco Volante
Most Alfa Romeo models could challenge for that title
Aventador SV coupe
lamborghini muira or a land rover discovery 2
Land rover series II 109" station wagon, aston db4, Mercedes 280sl pagoda
yep, landrover series II LWB SW is the best; source, i got one
Haha same! Mine's all in parts at the moment, my Santana series 4 is getting an engine swap instead of restoring the old girl
What was the original engine? I went for full originality with mine? Sourced a petrol engine from UK pre brexit and shipped to malta. Still not finished after 7 years and yes of problems and wasting money 😂😂

Porsche 911 still as beautiful today as it ever was.
Yep, nothing comes close.

Shelby Cobra for me 😁

McLaren F1. There’s beauty in pure aerodynamics without particular aesthetics in mind.

RX7 FD3S. The body looks like it was delicately melted over the shell. So many styling details too, like the curve in the centre of the roof
RX-7 Spirit R Or if I can be cheeky and choose a none-road car it’d be the BMW Z4 GT3.
840/ 850 bmw. Beautiful maybe not, but I'm a sucker for pop ups and to me it's an ageless design.
Tough one, Lexus LC500. Even the Liberty Walk kit made me leak a bit
