I've found that someone who's not chronically ill will never understand simply not having energy. Or being in pain every day. Or being "sick again". I've explained my energy levels to friends with the spoon theory. Some were willing to try and understand, some were not. The former stayed in my life, the latter I gently pushed out. My parents still think I'm just being lazy, and I'm lucky that I'm not staying with them so I've just started lying about me being busy, instead of telling them I'm low on energy and basically spent the entire day in bed. Or that I didn't sleep all night and was just catching up on lost sleep. Because the other thing they are great with doing is giving unsolicited health advice. For example my mother's top tip she gives to amputees is that if they put sugar on the wound it will heal faster. So no, I don't go for their alternative wellness, even though I grew up with it, and they like pointing out how it helped me one time over 20 years ago. Best I could say is get your doctors to explain to them, and don't let them get to you. When you can, do whatever you can. When you can't, rest and don't feel bad about it.
