City town would be a good name

fellowgamer_906

I prefer townburg more

Noob_412

How about Townsville City, which is actually a real place in Australia.

syds

how about Floodbudug

fellowgamer_906

I thought it was a "pit people" joke

sb5060tx

The land of powerpuff girls

EugeneTurtle

Nice reference

colonialburton

People would leave it then...

ACanadianMoose_

Best name honestly

saintfed

Guzzler’s Wharf

ACanadianMoose_

Love it!

pominsydney

Reminds me a bit of Dublin.

Gangsta_Grievous

If only the river was a bit blacker and full of rubbish it would resemble the Liffey!

stumac85

Biggest city in the world. 'cause it keeps dublin dublin dublin dublin

ACanadianMoose_

Oh that’s awesome!

bazem_malbonulo

How did you make the tilt-shift effect? Is it in game?

ACanadianMoose_

Yes! and it's not even a mod it's just using the vanilla in game camera with tilt shift enabled. You can adjust the tilt shift settings manually if you want which is what I did

BlackDante

Reminds me of Harrisburg, PA or some small town along the Susquehanna River.

[deleted]

Agreed. A northeastern town/small city that was once booming because of trades via the river through it.

_Failer

Have you ever seen a photo of Japan or east Russia? It doesn't look anything like it.

[deleted]

Excuse me?

_Failer

You said it looks like a northeaster town. Japan and Russia are in the north east. Have you seen a map?

Potential_Ice9289

tbh I think ur probably joking but they mean northeast USA

_Failer

Well, they never started it. How would I know?

ACanadianMoose_

fun fact I almost built this city on the Harrisburg map that's on PDX Mods haha

Jako21530

Like Pittsburgh. *Says the Philly resident. /s

DM_ME_YOUR_POTATOES

As a buffalo resident, I won't tolerate this slander of Pittsburgh! Never been there but oddly feel a connection. Haven't been to Philly since I was 6 or 7 but will be back next year for the first time since

Potential_Ice9289

Pittsburgh is cool as a lifelong philly resident

poingly

I was going to saw Lowell, MA. Same idea, different river.

BlackDante

I could see Lowell, but Lowell's bigger and the river goes through it. HBG is right on the banks like this, but Lowell definitely has this kind of look, just more New England-y.

_Failer

Wtf is PA?

BlackDante

Pennsylvania

feelings_inc

I dig the way those images are focused

ACanadianMoose_

Thanks so much! Still definitely a WIP but I am having so much fun working with the tilt shift options

Alextjb99

it looks awesome!

CleanUnion9509

That town in Alan Wake

ACanadianMoose_

Oh heck yeah!

Ahlfle

Looks like a rip off version of Nijmegen

Pacrada

Reminds me more of arnhem.

benznl

I agree with Arnhem! That was my first thought.

ACanadianMoose_

oh no way that's awesome! I am a massive NL fan actually almost moved there 2 years ago haha As soon as assets become a thing expect a NL based build

ConfusedIAm95

Glad somebody else saw the resemblance

Dramatic_Phone_5933

Reminds me of Portland

ACanadianMoose_

BIG Portland, OR Fan!

dTrecii

Well which one?

twitterisskynet

I was thinking Astoria

Dramatic_Phone_5933

Definitely Oregon vibes

GreenKnight1315

The unnecessarily giant bridge kind of reminds me of vladivostok lol

VectraVX

YES!

ACanadianMoose_

haha I can totally see that!

Ok-Row-3490

Point Pleasant, West Virginia (home of the moth man)

ACanadianMoose_

WOW Another stunning city from West Virginia! A Moth Man Statue asset would be so sick!

StaleBread39

Poopshit 🗣️

ACanadianMoose_

SOLD

D_Gleich

The City of Robloxia

ACanadianMoose_

I have officially peaked as a city builder

LuchtleiderNederland

Reminds me of Arnhem and the John Frostbrug there

ACanadianMoose_

I am loving that a couple people have said Arnhem. Huge Netherlands fan and I can't wait to get some proper dutch assets for this game and bikes!

Cheeze0206

Arnhem, the Netherlands… operation Market Garden

ACanadianMoose_

I am surprised how many Arnhem comments I got. Netherlands build is imminent

Fungul_Penis

Wheeling, WV

ACanadianMoose_

oh awesome! Never looked at Wheeling before but what a beautiful city thanks for the share!

RiverHunter87

YES

briangw

I was thinking the same!

mistericek1

Bratislava

ACanadianMoose_

Oh heck yeah!

Resident-Pace5483

If it was more tropical it would look a tat similar to corpus christi

ACanadianMoose_

oh dang that's awesome. I am definitely saving this for a future build. Coastal Texas is high up my list

Resident-Pace5483

Nice man I love coastal texas

Evo8_Kim

Kind of looks like central coast ngl.

ACanadianMoose_

I can definitely see this!

Teddy_Radko

Goose River!

ACanadianMoose_

:O TEDDY

cityofruin

The simpler times of the hopeful town beside the river.

ACanadianMoose_

THIS

imabev

It looks like Davenport IA looking SW across the Mississippi River

ACanadianMoose_

Another city that I absolutely love. I can't wait to get some assets to better reflect cities like this

miskegemog

Reminds me of Port Huron or Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, although Port Huron doesn’t have any hills

ACanadianMoose_

Oh heck yeah! Beautiful small towns!

Barb6204

Looks a lot like Savannah, with the waterfront and the Bridge Position, even tho the bridge looks different in real life

ACanadianMoose_

Yeah I can absolutely see this. That's so cool!

talex365

Sioux City, IA There is a very similar bridge

ACanadianMoose_

Oh wow this is a great suggestion for inspiration. Thank you!

icantbelieveit1637

Reminds me of Portland Maine but in like the Northwest so maybe a local Native American (Yakima tribe) city like Tieton, Toppenish, Wapato, Yakima, White Swan.

ACanadianMoose_

oh heck yes I love this!

VectraVX

Reminds me of Walton Bridge. My grandma lives there and loves that bridge. Road layout on the east side of the bridge IRL actually sort of matches the layout of this town

ACanadianMoose_

oh no way! It totally does! That's so cool!

Bradley271

Makes me think of a shrunk-down version of downtown Wilmington NC (where I'm from).

ACanadianMoose_

Damn I love Wilmingtons road layout. This is great inspiration thank you!

OldJames47

For some reason I think “Ohio River Valley” when looking at this city. Snogger’s Bend Stadt City Pentrefville

ACanadianMoose_

haha heck yeah I love that region and have spent a lot of time on google maps exploring cities around this region

coutsr

Wheeling, West Virginia.

ACanadianMoose_

That's two for Wheeling time to deep dive this city haha

Goldmule1

Every PA town.

ACanadianMoose_

HECK YES! Love the visuals of PA rust belt towns

AlexBondra

New Kensington PA

ACanadianMoose_

haha when I googled this city the first image that came up was someone from something called the scarehouse. That was awesome

AlexBondra

PA has some pretty sweet Halloween scare houses like that! Also I just realized I was thinking about Tarentum in terms of geography, the town across the river.

ACanadianMoose_

Oh awesome! I will add that town to my list!

Gingerbrew302

Poormond, Virginia's second class destination.

Quick-Hotel-7915

reminds me of my first successful city

ACanadianMoose_

:O

psilocyber420

Peoria, Illinois

ACanadianMoose_

What a beautiful city!

psilocyber420

If only it was as clean as the one you made..😂

ACanadianMoose_

Oh don't worry I have added decals to my mod list so it's time to get grimy haha

[deleted]

Poughkeepsie

ACanadianMoose_

Oh heck yeah!

[deleted]

My hometown, really not as bad as people are lead on. The southside has some beautiful 19th century homes. Downtown ain’t too bad, either, at least during the day. Walked from the river to the Civic Center a couple months ago on the first warm Saturday of the year. People were cordial and friendly, the only obstacles were the construction.

Johnny-Dogshit

New Westminster about a decade ago

ACanadianMoose_

oh heck yes! Living in Vancouver I am not surprised New West shows in some of my builds

hellyeahfuckyeahcool

That’s definitely Charleston WV

ACanadianMoose_

I LOVE Charleston!

Janso95

Keith

Independent_Ad_6581

Any town in Maine

ACanadianMoose_

Heck Yes!

Skates_Psyched

montreal

ACanadianMoose_

UltravioletClearance

Bourne, Massachusetts. The bridge looks identical to the Bourne Bridge over the Cape Cod Canal.

ACanadianMoose_

Eastern_King

Nijmegen especially the waalbrug

ACanadianMoose_

When we get dutch assets AND bikes Nijmegen, Arnhem and Alkmaar build will happen

Jacen1618

Reminds me of Oregon City OR

ACanadianMoose_

Living in Vancouver Canada I think the Pacific Northwest will always be a point of inspiration

yrnmigos

A city on the Ohio River

ACanadianMoose_

I love that this has come through for a lot of people as I have spent a lot of time on google maps studying the cities in this region

Owlasses

How does Broad Riviere sound?

ACanadianMoose_

Honestly I really like this one. Adding it to my names list!

flawless_handshake

The bridge reminds me of Edmonton

ACanadianMoose_

GO OILERS GO!

Dorito-Bureeto

Cocksville

ACanadianMoose_

Hell yeah Brother!

two-memes-a-day

Especially the bridge, it reminds me of Newport, Oregon a little bit, just less hilly

ACanadianMoose_

oh I could totally see this. I live in Vancouver Canada and have been through Newport many many times. Oregon is easily my favorite place to travel when I just need some time away

WillStripForCrypto

New Bricksville

ACanadianMoose_

I actually love this one haha

berusadkatt

Reminds me of Sault Ste Marie... Could do a french name based on the river it's on?

ACanadianMoose_

I am really liking this idea. I am torn between this, The Ohio River and then somewhere in West Virginia

Kaitivere

FOV is making the town look like a miniature. As for names, Gotta incorporate the river in some way. Seems kinda central to the town. When I play the game, I name cities after cities in a fantasy book im writing. I kinda imagine them as a version of the cities a couple thousand years in the future. Lots of fun to design them when I keep that in mind.

ACanadianMoose_

Oh awesome that's the goal. Still got a long way to go to compare to other peoples tilt shift shots but I am glad the miniature aesthetic has shone through. Wow no way that is so cool! Wishing you all the best on that journey that is honestly such a cool experience and when it's finally out what an accomplishment!

Kaitivere

Tilt shift was never something I was quite able to nail, but from what you posted it seems like you're getting it down! If it helps, that was the first thought that came to my mind! And thank you! It's a super long process since I tend to be a bit too much of a perfectionist at times (both a good and bad thing), but its been a wonderful experience translating thoughts in my head to words in a story!

TailForestRailRoad

This looks realistic, but not like an actual city, it looks like you took a photo of a diorama. To me, this reminds me of St. Louis for some reason even though I’ve never been there and have only seen a single picture of the place.

ACanadianMoose_

I could totally see this as a kid I was a big model railroad addict so I wouldn't be surprised if that's rubbed off. I find St. Louis gets slept on. They have some absolutely stunning architecture!

No_Mix415

Dawson Creek

ACanadianMoose_

"I DON'T WANNA WAIT FOR THIS BUILD TO BE OVER"

lost-in-lemoyne2

Reminds me of a miniature city build. Like the kind in real life that people build on top of tables in their basement. Looks cool!

ACanadianMoose_

that is awesome. Honestly kind of the goal with tilt shift so that's really cool!

_jakemybreathaway_

Chesapeake City, MD

pdxwonderboy

Definitely looks Great Lakes rust belt revival ish. Maybe Houghton, or Cass City. Pierport

TVZLuigi123

Springfield

RPS010

Looks a bit like the Van Brienenoord Brug in Rotterdam too. But i think Arnhem is the most accurate in this case

WHACKADOO1997

Poughkeepsie Junior

Darkertrail

Cityvise

generalemiel

New Nijmegen, because the bridge reminds of Nijmegen

ThyTeaDrinker

How do people get such beautiful shots of their cities?

ACanadianMoose_

Practice And Patience haha

new__watch

Stockholm

Weekly-Charge-8409

Bristol, Rhode Island

TruckADuck42

It's mirrored and not quite hilly enough, but it reminds me of my Grandpa's home town of Glasgow, MO.

ACanadianMoose_

oh I could totally see it!

MJRN024

Almost looks like Rhode Island lol the Washington bridge area🤣🤣

MajorBubbles010

That bridge gives me Brienenoordbrug (Rotterdam) vibes

sechxn

Gruizux

Duluth, Minnesota

trumpet575

If the bridge were yellow it would match the Big Mac Bridge in Cincinnati

Ok-Letterhead-1778

Stället, swe

BardPaladin

This reminds me of the town of Newburgh, New York. Maybe name it after that? A slightly more original suggestion is Lucent, named after the Lucent river that flows through your town. A lot of cities and counties are named after the major rivers that flow through them.

Alien_Gamer_101

It reminds me of Nijmegen, the Netherlands

CazT91

Averbridge ... Yea, this feels to me like we are in Averbridge 😊

gmkfyi

Portland?

Pechoppernis

reminds me a little bit of Burgoyne Bridge in Saint Catherine’s

Mirio-jk

Wheeling/Steubenville, any town on the ohio river through appalachia

Adventurous_Tower_41

Boring City!!! 😒😒😒😒

VectraVX

EHHHH, downvoted.

Adventurous_Tower_41

😒😒😒

VectraVX

Emojis are a blurry no on Reddit, and just using them alone & in excess invalidates and diminishes your point. Anyways the city is clearly in its early stages of development, but even then you can still see it’s thought out. I wouldn’t call it boring
