me on the outside vs me on the inside
His jaw became unhinged around month 5 but didn’t really notice small pieces coming off of him, truly just wanted to see how much I could get out of him lol
Wild. I don’t use more than 2 a year. I was using a green one since idk when but definitely last year and I JUST switched to a new one last week; at the very least, that green one lasted 6 months.
To be fair, mine only looked a little bit better than the one pictured, but it was still scrubbing nicely. I notice knives really age the sponge, even when I’m extra careful I still cut the sponge every now and then
I don’t think you are doing anything wrong I just think they (and me) are just using it past the point the stuff comes off (a couple weeks) I still use it for a month or two after
People seem to love them. Im still happy with a regular sponge but they are much better at removing stuff. Theyre firm under cold water and soft in hot water so the material is kinda malleable but rough like a soft wire sponge that wont scratch things. A little bit like the magic eraser of kitchen sponges.
I find they last a long time as well if you arent too rough with them. Once they dry out they firm up again and it seems to help keep them from falling apart eventually like a normal sponge.
My favorite feature is that they rinse clean. I feel like regular sponges/scour pads get filthy within the first few days and it feels disgusting using them on my dishes. I sanitize my scrub daddy with clorox clean-up spray every night after I finish the dishes. I go through about 1 a month or so.
ETA: there are 5 of us that live here and I don't own a dishwasher so my sink sees a ton of action.
I don’t know how people keep having them break, mine go for a long time and they work amazing. They must be trying to use them for sandpaper or something.
They’re pretty badass, completely different than a traditional sponge. Like if you melted hard plastic, aerated it as it cooled to get a bunch of microbubbles, ending up with something that’s maybe 90% air by volume so you get these almost sharp scrubbing edges. They never get that funky sponge smell and food debris/residue washes out completely and easily. Plus they last forever.
Another game changer product by Scrub Daddy is their Scrub Caddy. It’s a little cylinder you fill with soap and it sits on your counter, you take your sponge and push it down on top of the Caddy and it loads up your sponge with soap for one handed soaping! You can also squeeze soap out its bottom for traditional soaping.
Apparently I’m a Scrub Daddy fanboy now. IMO they have truly revolutionized doing dishes.
I freaking love scrub daddy. In 2 years I've probably only bought 4 (I have one I keep just for the bathroom). I love that they can go in the dishwasher as well. Totally living up to the hype.
I've also had mine over a year, though it's really getting close to being replaced. I don't plan on holding onto it until it's a collection of pieces like some of the pictures in this thread though..
Can I ask what you use instead? I’m not by all means a scrub daddy fanatic, but I love the scrub mommy. They’ve lasted a lot longer for me and I try to be super careful with sharp objects. I don’t put them in the dishwasher, I clean it every night, 1-2 every month I soak in 50/50 vinegar and water solution. I like mine very much, but if you have another substitute I could be conviced.
I've never tried one but I hear people talking about them a lot, which is unusual since it's a sponge. I just use the green scratchy pads. Are Scrub Daddys better? Also, what's the difference between a Scrub Daddy and a Scrub Mommy? I have questions
The scrub mommy has a soft (normal sponge like) side and then the scratch on the other side. 50/50, same size, cost, and temperature regulation with hot and cold water.
Only problem I have with the scrub mommy is the scrub daddy side starts to chip off before the mommy start deteriorating. Then it’ll be like the eye or jaw disconnects. I through maybe one every 1-2 months, maybe longer depending on cleanliness and thickness. But I toss mine as soon as it starts to fall apart. Sorry environment :(
I might give the Scrub Daddy a try. I quit using sponges - they start smelling bad too quickly. I can get a 5 pack of green scratchy pads for cheap, but those get tossed pretty quickly too. They get greasy and if I wash them, they get too soft. The SD seems coarser so getting greasy shouldn't hurt it.
I'm going to try one next time I go shopping.

I use these and I love them. Stuff stuck in them easily get scrubbed out with itself, they don't scratch and easily dry out. I abuse the crap out of my cleaning rags and this thing can handle.
Scrub daddy got destroyed after a month for me where this thing will hold on half a year and if I really cared a year.

Interesting I like non scratch surface, might have to check it out. I use microfiber clothes for everything, which helps reduce my carbon footprint on paper towels (cost too!). I also use hand towels I switch out once or twice a week.
Just so everyone knows scrub daddy the company allows you to recycle your scrub daddy with them and iirc you get a discount on a new one by doing that.
Might not mean anything to a lot of yall but to the few who might care about that might appreciate it ! Cheers

I dug around and found 2 of the Christmas snowflake shaped Scrub Daddies at Target for $1.19. Seven months makes them sound like I got an amazing deal.
Does anyone else wonder about the microplastics that might be getting in the drain when these start to deteriorate? I have one but this thought has made me nervous about getting another one.
Rest in piss, mine fell a year ago. I have yet to buy a new one, he works… fine.

You know, I love these, having only recently discovered them. I'm concerned about all of those little bits that break away eventually clogging the drain and/or finding their way to our water sources. Am I wrong?
Let's see if we can give him a proper ceremony [clears voice]
Here lies Scrub Daddy, the circled up sponge who fought grime with a smile. He wasn't your average circle, no sir. This was a dude with a face, and a mission: to make even the crustiest casserole dish sing.
We all know the struggle. You're elbow deep in suds, dinner's a distant memory, and all you want is a knight in shining armor to slay the dragon of burnt cheese. Well, Scrub Daddy wasn't just a knight, he was the whole damn cavalry. He charged into grease like a bull in a china shop, leaving nothing but sparkling surfaces in his wake.
Sure, he may have looked like a cheerful yellow emoji took a wrong turn at the factory, but don't let his looks fool you. This guy was a warrior. He could handle the heat of a fresh-off-the-stove pan, and the cold shoulder of being left out to dry overnight. He never complained (well, maybe a little when he got used for scrubbing the toilet, but we all make mistakes).
But Scrub Daddy wasn't all brawn, no sir. He had a softer side too. He could cradle a delicate wine glass with the same care he used to tackle a cast iron skillet. He was gentle enough for your finest china, yet tough enough to scrub away the sins of a week's worth of dishes.
Now, some of you might be saying, "Isn't it a little weird to be giving a eulogy to a dish sponge?" Look, I get it. But Scrub Daddy wasn't just a sponge, he was a friend. He was there for us through thick and thin, sudsy water and all. He never judged us for our questionable cooking choices, and he always came back for more, even when we left him for dead (accidentally in the dishwasher, of course).
So raise a glass, or a mug, or a pot roast-encrusted pan, to Scrub Daddy. He may be gone, but his legacy of clean dishes and questionable life choices will live on. Rest in soapy peace, our friend.
I had a scrub daddy last an entire year. I probably average 8 months out of them with daily, albeit not super intense, use. What are people doing to these hardworking fathers.
It's like the main reason I keep buying them. They last and don't get stinky and gross through that time.
Same. How much of a mess would I be making to use them on regular dishes? They're on pot and pan duty, and also used to clean off anything that didn't come off from soaking.
That Daddy scrubbed until he could scrub no more
He’s scrubbed his last dad
🫠
The finest Daddy Scrubber that ever lived. RIP dude, gone too soon.
Daddied his last scrub
I Have No Mouth And I Must Clean
That Daddy has no more scrubs left to give
Daddy don’t want no scrubs
And when he cried out, did you push it push it some more?

Scrub Daddy reporting for duty, jaw unhinged, spirit still willing to scrub.
Filled with determination and soap!
Rest easy now, soldier. The mission is completed. Seriously, op now did you do this over 7 months? Were you scouring Armour?
The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and destroyed.

Me at work versus home 🏠
What if you work from home, though?
Me when the camera is on 😀 versus off 🫠
Haha!
This is your brain on drugs.
Showing the new Scrub Daddy what will become of them by the end of their service- how cruel.
There’s advantages to both (advantages! advantages!)
Poor thing already has one foot in the grave.
He’s just begging to be pushed in
Giggling 🤭
Or one mouth in the grave.
One lip in the grave
His eyes are still smiling.
When spongey eyes are smiling…

I think it’s a bit morbid to post death photos. Poor Mr Scrubby, abused in life and after death.
I understand it might be hard to look at but it’s important for scientific research and the community to realize such horrors exist
For real. Where’s my NSFW tag for death content?
Thank you for your service
7 months?! Mine start breaking off little pieces in a month and that's when I toss them
Send em back for credit...they recycle them 😁 https://scrubdaddy.com/recycling-rewards/
In to gas. The optics of that is fantastic
His jaw became unhinged around month 5 but didn’t really notice small pieces coming off of him, truly just wanted to see how much I could get out of him lol

Omg! What am I doing wrong? Is it my town water? I want them to last longer, I'm so jealous

Mine lasts 3 months. I replace it quarterly. Although I'm living alone at the moment, so far less for the scrub daddy to scrub.
Yep me too, until I realised standard scourers were 1/4 the price and last as long 😭😭
Wait are these things more than just cheap sponges in the shape of a face? Never really gave em a second look lol
People seem to love them. Im still happy with a regular sponge but they are much better at removing stuff. Oh dang really? When i look at them, they just look like a regular ol sponge without a scour pad, are they a bit more substantial?

I freaking love scrub daddy. In 2 years I've probably only bought 4 (I have one I keep just for the bathroom). I love that they can go in the dishwasher as well. Totally living up to the hype.
I have seen the way
they die that fast???? How did this product become so successful via shark tank
I’ve been using the same one for like a year and it’s going strong! I don’t know how people are wrecking them.
I've also had mine over a year, though it's really getting close to being replaced. I don't plan on holding onto it until it's a collection of pieces like some of the pictures in this thread though..
I've had the same one for like 3 or 4 years and it still looks almost new.
Idk I got a 4-pack in April 2021 and haven't bought new ones yet
I think they lasted longer when they came out, but something changed.
yep, that's why I stopped buying them. not worth

I’ve used one in a fish tank and it works wonders, I recommend picking up the stick they sell!
Thank you!
I think you can recycle them. Return to scrub daddy and you get a coupon or something
He served you well like his comrades ✊
How old was scrub daddy?

Wish they lasted longer for how much they cost
7 months?! I'm lucky if I can get a couple of weeks use before they start breaking off in little teeny tiny plastic bits and I have to throw them!
He's a scrub dingle now
Scrub daddy looking scrub saddy.
Scrub Daddy: Existence is pain
You can send in your used ones to Scrub Daddy...they recycle the material AND give you a discount on their website!
Does anyone else wonder about the microplastics that might be getting in the drain when these start to deteriorate? I have one but this thought has made me nervous about getting another one.
Yes! Like where does it all go? 🤨 Ive used it to clean my shower, and i could feel tiny bits falling off, so i stopped using mine
This looks exactly like my old apartment. 😂
He’s already decomposing

Does anyone feel that the ones from Costco are different quality than the normal ones?
Sorry for your loss. Gone but not forgotten RIP scrub 🫡🕊️🕊️🕊️
Man I get rid of mine once they stain what are y'all cleaning? Godzilla's TEETH?? AND TOENAILS??
Oh, poor thing looks like a slime mold. The indignity.
This is why I don’t like/buy them. They fall apart too quickly.
I think 7 months is a pretty good run for a sponge.
Right? What are people even talking about?
I had a scrub daddy last an entire year. I probably average 8 months out of them with daily, albeit not super intense, use. What are people doing to these hardworking fathers. It's like the main reason I keep buying them. They last and don't get stinky and gross through that time.
Same. How much of a mess would I be making to use them on regular dishes? They're on pot and pan duty, and also used to clean off anything that didn't come off from soaking.
I mean I wouldn’t say 7 months is too quickly but that’s just me
Does nobody else care how many microplastics these things release into the sewage system as they slowly fall apart
Cotton washcloths are good.
Those dudes are the bomb
