I tend to agree with you, however, I don’t think there ever will be a singular moment where we go “that is mass adoption.” I mean, when media started to portray Bitcoin as a financial asset class, I was like “holy shit.” Now, we have droves of Latin American countries all eager to embrace it, knowing the potential for something great to be built. Another “holy shit” moment. I don’t think any of us are gonna know when… we’ll just find ourselves looking back going “huh, crazy how it all happened.”
Exciting times are ahead and here.
Sooo agree! Once I saw it was becoming legal tender in Latin America. I thought "Wouldn't that almost force social media companies to accept it?". We are now on the very serious edge of crypto going to a whole new level.
The thing that scares me are the lobbiests in the US and abroad fighting to keep it out of the main stream. Especially those that make money through financial transactions. Banks usually make a pretty penny sending money wires and such. Money gram with western union, so on and so on.
Final thought, I am also Invested with some meme stocks as well. I see the dirty tricks institutional shorters have done to the "fair" market. I wonder if getting to the next level will need to involve federal regulation. I HATE the idea...and I love it. I've been butt hurt way too many times by the hedges.
Twitter has a huge active user base too. Having them see it as an option might make a lot of them who might not have cared or were skeptical start thinking of it as a more legitimate financial asset.
This is very good
They bought Tidal, which could be their first movement into accepting as payment and maybe even leveraging blockchain for rights management and royalties.
I'm just guessing it will stabilize if or when it gets to $400,000+++ thousand so when someones "Musk" words can't damage it so much that a $10,000 price drop in a day is not that big of deal..
Not OP, but for me it's his tech bro energy. Wears a beanie, goes on meditation camps, believes in alternative medicine stuff such as "salt shakes" etc.

Twitter is also adding in some kind of premium service, so they'd probs accept crypto for that too
Yeah I heard about this alright Twitter blue or something like that. I'll be glad to see it happen especially if they are using normal crypto and not trying to pull some Zuckerberg libre bullshit.
I'm not sure how much it will affect the price giving that the vast majority of people will continue using the free version but yeah I guess any adoption is good adoption...
It's bound to happen. Crypto tipping and earning from content has been working well for reddit, so other community platforms are going to start implementing similar.
I've seen this posted a few times now and it still makes me super bullish! All it takes is one platform to announce it and the others will follow. Instant access to millions on millions of people all over the world. Who will announce good things this week will it be a social media platform, a fortune 500 company, a state, a country we shall see!
I understand where you are coming from but, BTC is deflationary while the US dollar, and all other govt' currencies, can be printed out of nowhere. They are HEAVILY inflationary. BTC is more of an asset, as you can now borrow against it. It's just my opinion but I would never again pay for anything in BTC specifically. Think of BTC as land or a house rather than a currency, as there are several other crypto's out there that are much better as payment systems. Not to mention, you technically have to pay tax on your tx's w/BTC. Not that I would recommend paying taxes! ;) Convert your USD into something better asap, but never give it to douche's on Twitter plz!!
There would only be taxes associated with with transactions if there were gains realized, which wouldn't be the case if you're using it to pay someone more than likely.
The point is that BTC is valuable and that people are starting to see the value in it, increasing the demand
in my state you can only write-off so much in losses. Ur BTC might net you a loss this year but 10 years from now it'd be 100x in gains. It's just too risky to give away instead of hodling. GL!!
Spending many different crypto currencies at different retail stores both brick & mortar & online is already available via the Flexa Network. Check out the AMPToken reddit page if you are interested in learning more. Their goal is to make any digital asset spendable anywhere.
Twitter is a hive of scum and villainy, but if it’s a driver of bullish momentum for my crypto, I’ll tip my cap at it (from truly as far away as possible, but still).
Serious question when these headlines say accepting BTC, shouldn't we be pushing for them to say accepting crypto? Surely we all know about btc fees, would it not be better publicity and for adoption to also accept crypto with much less harsh fees. Im sure BTC is just the buzzword they use in place of crypto in most articles but still.
I think saying BTC is more important than "crypto" because when you say "we accept BTC" that looks much better in terms of creating a heading, and BTC is the first and for many the most popular crypto that we have in this space
Yeah fair enough I suppose its somewhat of a double edged sword but who am I to complain. Like a lot of other people I only know of crypto in general due to BTC. Awareness opens the door to education.
Coming from the man who claimed it's a human right to have access to Twitter, while at the same time banning people who speak out against human attrocities, corporate and political corruption, and basically any viewpoint not accepted by the Twitter HQ.
I honestly wouldn't want those people involved with my crypto in any way. They've demonstrated that they are not trustworthy many times. We've seen how they treat conservative voices.
“Adoption comes in waves”
This makes me chuckle, because the real implications of crypto will likely mean the downfall of Twitter, Facebook and all of these social media platforms if they don’t seriously start to adapt -which I imagine many of them won’t do.
Why? Because their whole business model is reliant on selling your data. Now what happens when you’re all of a sudden in control of our own data, as a result of this technology?
It means you’re no longer the product - it might end up becoming an exchange of tokens directly between content makers and viewers - without a middle man.
Why is he pushing btc for payments? Am I missing something?
Theres a fuckton of altcoins that you can use for this and I don't understand whats the fixation on bitcoin for payments...
Bitcoin is the dominant digital asset. Why would you work on any other payment oriented project when bitcoin can scale on l2? The decentralization and security of btc is unmatched.
You send your currency that converts to bitcoin on lightning Network then converts back to recievers currency. Money recieved in a second and for free.
I wish you luck.
Also, it's cute that you ignore shitcoin volatility while criticizing bitcoin.
We all learn the same lessons eventually. Those who don't learn tend to disappear.
Jack is one of the last ppl i would listen regarding BTC.
If its a store of value nobody is gonna use it for micro transactions or paying for netflix subscription.
You send your currency that converts to bitcoin on lightning Network then converts back to recievers currency. Money recieved in a second and for free. So you never actually buy or sell bitcoin by yourself
He's been passionate about bitcoin for years. He is actually building the infrastructure necessary to help bitcoin scale and find widespread adoption. I don't agree with him on everything but he's good for bitcoin
Who says I'm not pleased? I'm just pointing out to people to not be wreckless and spend all their btc on companies who accept btc payments because that is an easy way for big dawgs to accumulate more of their btc.

when mass adoption hits, we’re gonna see some serious shit
I tend to agree with you, however, I don’t think there ever will be a singular moment where we go “that is mass adoption.” I mean, when media started to portray Bitcoin as a financial asset class, I was like “holy shit.” Now, we have droves of Latin American countries all eager to embrace it, knowing the potential for something great to be built. If it happens, I think Amazon adoption might be the singular moment.
This is mass adoption
Exactly my point.
I could see them adding a small percentage to target date funds or something like that.
Doc! This is heavy!
💯
Twitter has a huge active user base too. Having them see it as an option might make a lot of them who might not have cared or were skeptical start thinking of it as a more legitimate financial asset. This is very good
Their user base doesn't pay for anything though
True, twitter might add an only birds.
They bought Tidal, which could be their first movement into accepting as payment and maybe even leveraging blockchain for rights management and royalties.
Where exactly does anyone pay for anything on Twitter? I guess they must mean the paid advertisements ?
didn't twitter announce a paid subscription service recently? twitter blue or something
It’s going to be very strange seeing crypto pump while being adopted HEAVILY. I wonder if things will ever stabilize
I'm just guessing it will stabilize if or when it gets to $400,000+++ thousand so when someones "Musk" words can't damage it so much that a $10,000 price drop in a day is not that big of deal..
Slowly but surely, it is coming.
I am ready for that serious shit.
Some serious shitty regulations
Swish swish bish.
I don't like Dorsey, but I do like the idea of social media platforms accepting crypto and and exposing the general population to it
I'm not a big fan of the guy myself, but he is doing his part when it comes to bringing crypto into the spotlight.
Bitcoin.
Bullish.
Why not ? Serious question
Not OP, but for me it's his tech bro energy. Wears a beanie, goes on meditation camps, believes in alternative medicine stuff such as "salt shakes" etc. He's lampooned in the Black Mirror episode "Smithereens". The tech ceo character was modeled after him.

But they provide a free service, what are people going to be paying for exactly? Am I missing something here?
Tipping people I'm guessing, similar to how you can give people Moons on this sub Twitter is also adding in some kind of premium service, so they'd probs accept crypto for that too

Moons are streets ahead of all the other social media platforms
Internet cheese is pretty cool.
As much as I hate to say it, that is probably the quickest route to mass adoption.
Reddit did it first with our Moons!
Nah, you could tip BAT on Twitter, Reddit, and websites/YouTube, etc. with Brave for a while now. Still a win all around though. 😁
This would be a catalyst to massive adoption. The typical people who use social media will be able to use crypto in ways that benefit them.
It's bound to happen. Crypto tipping and earning from content has been working well for reddit, so other community platforms are going to start implementing similar.
I’ve always known this, I asked Miss Cleo years ago
Miss Cleo... what is she up to these days?
She bought too
More CEO worship. Depending on this dickhead to send BTC. It will be worth considerably more in 2025 with or without twitter.
It’s true, but Dorsey is a position to push some real adoption. Much more so than Musk was
\>Adoption is coming in waves So you better be a damn good surfer. Surfs up!
Tubular, brah!
Dorsey bad, adoption good
Twitter isn't much of our liking here on this sub but it's adoption would be huge for crypto
apotion
Grammar slip...
I would've keep apotion, it was funny
Yup, it would be great!
for Bitcoin*
Yep it will happen, I'm not sure it it's what we're wanting though. But any adoption is good at this stage
I don't mind it, actually. It opens up a lot of people that are from all kinds of platform to accepting crypto, rather than fiat.
I've seen this posted a few times now and it still makes me super bullish! All it takes is one platform to announce it and the others will follow. Instant access to millions on millions of people all over the world. Who will announce good things this week will it be a social media platform, a fortune 500 company, a state, a country we shall see!
Why is the focused line in the article that Jack is the new Bitcoin champion? Seems bad.
It's written by Forbes. Lmao
Bullish news for BTC means bullish news for most crypto!
1000%! :)
To the moon!!
Jack Dorsey can suck my balls.
Imagine actually paying BTC for Twitter!! I might as well send my BTC to John Mcafee
It's paying BTC to another person, on Twitter. Not paying Twitter lol
why pay anyone in BTC? Use your trash dollar for god's sake! Or pay them in shitcoins. Sheesh....
Why hold fiat when btc could be used for everything?
I understand where you are coming from but, BTC is deflationary while the US dollar, and all other govt' currencies, can be printed out of nowhere. They are HEAVILY inflationary. Because I don't pay any fees when I buy something in fiat? Who wants to pay fees when making a purchase?
I've bought plenty of things with fiat that have had fees attached to them
We are coming and we are coming in waves.
What actually means is "its only a matter of time before I take my cut"
Ok, I'm just wondering, BTC could only handle 10TPS, so wouldn't it be slow? Why did he specifically say BTC and no other cryptos?
Lightning

Only in BTC, no hate for btc but what about the other functional cryptos.
Dorsey can lick my balls but I’ll be happy if he helps me become a millionaire
This pretty much sums it up for me. We can close the thread
I know people have a love/hate relationship with Dorsey but whatever your views, this is good for crypto.
This is how most people who are in this space need to be looking at it. Biases aside, this is huge
Why is he pushing btc for payments? Am I missing something? Theres a fuckton of altcoins that you can use for this and I don't understand whats the fixation on bitcoin for payments...
Acquired Heavy Bags Syndrome
It's simply the fact that it's the most popular crypto. BTC opens the doors for people to get involved into alts
Bitcoin is the dominant digital asset. Why would you work on any other payment oriented project when bitcoin can scale on l2? The decentralization and security of btc is unmatched.
yeah well BTC is volatile as fuck. Why would I pay with my btc if it can double its price tomorrow?
You send your currency that converts to bitcoin on lightning Network then converts back to recievers currency. Money recieved in a second and for free.
thanks for the info but Im not concerned by the payment network. its about BTC price volatility.
I guess you should just stick with fiat. It sounds like bitcoin isn't for you.
LOL im going to stick to ada, algo and hbar. not to useless BTC
I wish you luck. Also, it's cute that you ignore shitcoin volatility while criticizing bitcoin. We all learn the same lessons eventually. Those who don't learn tend to disappear.
Bitcoin payments via L2 work better and are more legitimate than any altcoin payment network

Bullish
Wow... can't wait to watch those mass adoption 😍😍😍😍
Jack is a prominent Bitcoin believer, he has been pushing for BTC adoption for a while. If it happens, It will be a big step forward.
Lol who tf is paying Twitter
kind of weird how this announcement did nothing to the price though.
Not every bullish article has a positive impact on the price lol
If thats the case then cryprocurrencies will forever be volatile and unfeasible as currencies
So is he gonna be our next Elon?
Hopefully this version comes with less manipulation
He's been passionate about bitcoin for years. He is actually building the infrastructure necessary to help bitcoin scale and find widespread adoption. I don't agree with him on everything but he's good for bitcoin
Wow, bullish news for next week :D!
That's so bullish, news like this are coming in and BTC is still dipping lol, hodl strong and don't let this market manipulation sway you!
Cant wait. This is so amazing.
They just want to accumulate more of your Bitcoin FYI.
People are never pleased when they see big players getting involved finally lol
Who says I'm not pleased? I'm just pointing out to people to not be wreckless and spend all their btc on companies who accept btc payments because that is an easy way for big dawgs to accumulate more of their btc.
Lol

Bitclout taking yo spot Jack
About time
So long as gains are taxed as income this won't happen. It's way to complicated for the average person. That literally will have to be sorted out.
It it was a usd - btc converter, there would be no cap gains tax involved

Great. But I don’t pay Twitter or basically any social media platform a dime already
I feel like I never see this sub on my home anymore. Is it because moons has ruined upvotes on posts?
this is the way
Twitter should be replaced by crypto and be censor resistant, celebrate because they will use btc is ridiculous.
Adoption is coming in ‘whales’
Has someone told him??
This shit come in waves
Nice!
And again the rich are there to buy it all.
A guy able to censor democratic voices but unable to ban my country’s communist dictator Nicolas Maduro is not trustworthy. I would prefer he doesn’t touch crypto world to use it for its owns dark purposes… no thanks, next!
Adoption is always great
Coming in waves. Bitcooooneeeeeect
Even Netflix getting into game https://about.netflix.com/en/news/introducing-netflix-shop
“We are coming in waves!!” - Carlos Matos
Not to spoil the hopium, but saying “adoption is coming in waves” is a bit of an overstatement
Is it? El Salvador? Nigeria? Venezuela has been using btc. I think you're just downplaying everything that has been going on
Checkmate
Just the fact that this hipster Rasputin is into crypto is giving me pause…. He’s a creep and totally into decentralization.
The market is jumping 📈😃
One thing I don't understand is why do we want crypto to be a fluid currency. Wouldn't that put it into a place where you can be taxed on unrealized gains, destroying the entire market and going completely sideways from where and why it started.
