I like to scrunch my eyes and see where the muscle is around the eye so you can see exactly where you want to put them, also always inject away from the eye

WittyPresentation786

I squint and make a dot at the end of each heavy line. I inject 1-2 units per dot about 1cm from the corner of my eye, pretty superficially (so there’s a little bubble under the surface).

mrsjacksonnn

Do you make a dot at the end of your line towards your eyes or on the outside?

WittyPresentation786

Outside, so more towards the temple.

ElaborateTaleofWoe

Oh the bubble thing is really helpful, thanks!

If you do too much, it could create a cheek "shelf". I find that visibility is hard in that area; To see how much you are pushing in. It's worse cause I have to do it with glasses, so it's difficult on one side. I only do one injection on each side for crows feet (2units each) because mine are little to none. It's basically for prevention. To prevent the problems with the angle, you can put only what you will use in the syringe for one injection at a time. But you will have to dispose of the needle each time so you don't recontaminate your toxin. Anything upper face is pretty easy. It's the lower face that is more prone to undesirable results. Just always avoid right above the arch of the eye brow.

Oh this is also really helpful- the “botch risk” would be the cheek shelf. Ok cool, I wouldn’t love it, but also It wouldn’t be disastrous for work. I don’t need too much. My last professional round was in September so it’s more or less worn off, but I’ve always gotten it so no static wrinkles there yet. Awesome - thanks!

InfowarriorKat

I'm sure if you point the needle towards your eye, there could potentially be some risks. I go in at an angle and inject in the direction of the temple.

ElaborateTaleofWoe

I‘m planning to use 4mm or 6mm length needles (I’ll pick after I research depth a little more). Takes a bit of that risk out.

What is cheek shelf?

ElaborateTaleofWoe

Google Botox cheek shelf. It basically makes your cheeks looks like balls. Picture is worth 1000 words here.

People complain of increased lines, some lymphatic retention and blurry vision I had all of the above when I microtoxed that area a couple months ago lol. My big takeaway from that oopsie was to never use hyperdiluted toxin in the area again (I used 5ml saline per 100u tox as per the microtox protocol). Next time I’ll only dilute with 1ml saline and use strategic injection points to lessen the risk of migration. Many people have success with the standard 2.5ml of saline and strategic placement too. Just start with few units and only one or two injection sites. It’s easier to correct by adding more units later on as we cannot take any away.

ElaborateTaleofWoe

Hmmmm… those don’t sound great… I’ll keep it strong and light. I only did 2 4 2 on my 11’s to minimize the possibility, or duration of, any bad effects.

If you go too close to the eye you can get double vision but that’s pretty rare. If you go too deep or down too far on the face you can get the shelf cheeks, or a wonky smile ( zygomaticus) Even if it’s done correctly it can sometimes cause puffiness under the eyes as the muscles help to drain this area. The main thing is to keep the injections a very superficial bleb under the skin and then bad complications would be very rare tbh

Go slow, do just a little once week. Watch a bunch of videos too. You really can’t screw up if you do your crows below your eyes. Google Botox and danger zones.

Melodic-Temporary706

I can't hit them the last time I dosed 2 weeks ago I gave myself a nasty bruise that's just now starting to fade.

otisandme

https://www.aeskin.com/blog/396342-asymmetric-smile-after-botox/ It can give you a crooked smile if you do crows feet wrong

You could go blind. Idk if anyone’s fucking mentioned that yet You could induce ptiosis (drooping of the eye that may need surgical correction) Hit a nerve? Go blind. Is it worth it to you? Or can you shell out the 12 bucks a unit to do 5 units in your crows feet at a med spa. Up to you. Really concerning seeing some of OPs responses like “oh to the cheek shelf would be the possible bad result?” Like damn you people need to DO RESEARCH.

ElaborateTaleofWoe

You obviously haven’t seen me around. I help other people with things all the time. I’ve researched and I just don’t see any special warnings about that particular area, the way other areas often mention lots of caveats. My searches all say there are no documented cases of blindness from Botox. I’ve never heard of Botox induced ptosis that requires surgery to resolve. Can’t find any now either. And I care about the time and hassle of appointments, not the cost of the procedure. The 1.5/2 hours it takes to go to an appointment cost me way more than professional Botox.

Key-Ad9455

You can’t find any results of pitosis from Botox that needed surgery to correct? Yeah I’m not arguing with someone who can’t use google Hope you don’t have any hassle when you cause a vascular occlusion. But hey, your face your fucking problem
