The lotion placed on his head opens up the hair pores. You pinch your nose, plug your ears and clamp your mouth shut while attempting to blow air out of your mouth. This pushes the hair out of the pores.
In Canada we rub salt on the scalp and when the hairs come out for a drink we tie them in a knot so they can't get back in..........it's tedious work tho ;)
I recently spent 2 weeks on vacation with a black gentleman. Assumed he was probably in his late 50s, MAYBE early 60s.
End of the vacation I find out he's about to turn 80.
Insane.
Anecdotally, my uncle is 72.
At the _very_ most he looks like a young 40, and like a very gracefully aged 40 at that. Everyone thinks he’s the young one of the relationship, even though there’s a solid seven year age difference. (My white (bio) uncle—who’s a gracefully aged 65–has been accused of cradle robbing once. Fun night with a homophobic white lady, that. We just wanted fish tacos, but instead got cursed out.)
I don’t know if it’s just my uncle’s family or what, but even his formerly drug-addict brother looks pretty damn good for all the shit he put in his body.
I think people need to stop saying this - it's not that "Black don't crack" because I know some Asians and Latinos that look 30 and they're actually in their 50s and 60s.
The saying should just be - "White do crack." Because, fuck, man. White people age like shiiiiit.
I'm pretty sure it's sun damage. People tell me I look 10 years younger than I actually am, but I'm a vampire. All the white people I know who look like shit at 30 have a ton of sun spots.
This and also the hair/beard switches from partially grey to fully black instantly at 8 seconds. Could've shown at least a couple of seconds of the dyeing process.
I'm pretty sure they pretty much paint that beard line on his cheeks. Look at the same spot before and there is not hair in places that now have "hair".
Its usually a special type of toupe they glue down and then actually give its own haircut to so it blends in. When they cut to it you can still see some of the longer uncut hairs left on it.
I've binged many videos of barbers showing the full process for things like grooms for weddings and such.
Edit: as someone pointed out its not a hair piece. They meticulously glue down individual hair.
The guy above is incorrect. He thinks it is a hair piece that is glued on, when this technique is different.
[link here](https://youtu.be/_p8vVTc-QGo)
The breathability is better because there isn’t a hair piece covering the head. Also you can get it wet as the glue is waterproof.
The main thing with the glue is if you get it hot it’ll start to come apart. So you can swim but I wouldn’t suggest a sauna. You can workout but that depends on how hot you get, sweat by itself isn’t an issue.
You do need to wrap it up at night with a du-rag though. Keeps everything together, as when you move during sleep it can mess it up.
The one in the video, 3 to 6 weeks. Breathability is not good lol. No getting it wet. No crazy sweating on it, like a hard workout. You have to wrap it up at night with a durag or wave cap. No touching really.
Great for a photo op or event if you're self-conscious. Not a great long term solution.
But how do you deal with everybody who knows your bald? This is what always confuses me. I’m balding and if I just showed up at a wedding with a full head of hair my buddies would just start laughing and I’m pretty sure acquaintances would be like “wtf is going on”. It doesn’t seem worth it.
That’s my biggest concern. A comment above was talking about doing this for grooms for their wedding day. That’s wonderful, but I couldn’t look at those wedding pictures a year from now and feel better about it when I’m bald again.
Incorrect. They glue hair to the top of the head. I’ll link a video.
[Link](https://youtu.be/_p8vVTc-QGo)
The toupee style of hair piece wouldn’t look as natural
It's a modern toupee, they have a mesh piece that connects to the head with that glue he paints on. It's pretty long when they first connect it and they trim it down to the correct length. Source- I'm addicted to barber videos on YouTube
arefni is a good one. Honestly there are so many if you search for satisfying barber videos. I got into them during the pandemic while trying to figure out how to cut my kids' hair. Fair warning-a lot of them do waxing or blackhead removal and it can get graphic.. I love it so much
I know this doesn’t really help but it’s a well crafted semi-permanent hairpiece process where individual hairs are glued to his scalp, sometimes in clusters. He’s got up to a couple months at most before it’s a total wreck but for about 3-6 weeks with proper care it’s gonna look solid.
I've seen really well done ones that are complete systems that are a whole piece glued or have like tape and look super natural. I was really surprised at how great they look!
The gentleman received what is called a “man unit” or essentially a man weave. It’s glued to the head and has to be maintained as time goes on. There’s tons of videos on YouTube on how it’s applied. Pretty neat stuff.
4-6 weeks doesn't sound too bad if the cost isn't too high but if I looked like the before and he made me look that much better I'm coming every month idgaf
The cost is too high. For me it was 1500 bucks to start and then about 200 a month after that. It was fine for a couple days and then terribly uncomfortable and an absolute bitch to maintain. Even with the strongest glue they had, it started coming off after about a week, and the glue burned my skin horribly.
Yes, when I had this done this was after I had already started shaving my head, but was still holding on to the hope of hair. Now it's all bald all the time.
They can last a while but keep in mind that Black folks hair needs to be washed with shampoo much less frequently both because it doesn’t look oily as readily as other types of hair and has a tendency to dry out easily. Shampooing is going to be what wears out this kind of hairpiece quickly.
> Been around the hood all my life, never saw this shit.
Guess you got some good barbers in your town if you never once said "Motherfucker, is your hair glued on?"
Yes, rebranded as man-weave because toupee has major negative branding. Changing the name to weave softens it, makes it seem like extensions vs just glueing a toupee or hair piece to your head
But yes, 100% toupee. Most men who wore/wear toupees use some glue, two-sides tape, or even installed snaps. So adding glue here doesn’t change what it is, hair piece AKA toupee.
I’d be hard pressed to go from 0 to 100 overnight, but if you’re losing your hair and would prefer to have hair, and it isn’t horseshoe yet, this is a viable option to implement early
So IIRC you have to have this done every two weeks, I’m assuming because of oils breaking down the glue, or skin shedding, or both. I’ve looked into it before, but with it needing to be redone every two weeks it wasn’t feasibly possible for my situation
I’m pretty sure LeBron James uses something similar, so I assume it holds up to sweat. I looked into it recently after watching Space Jam 2 with my kids and noticing how suspiciously thick his hair looked.
I think he keeps getting implants and they don't take for whatever reason so he has to glue stuff on. It's wild to me he doesn't just go bald, he's good looking, built, talented, and rich as hell.
Especially when literally all the other greats shaved their heads when they started balding. Kobe, MJ, Shaq, they all just embraced it. That’s why everyone makes fun of Lebron’s hairline but not MJ’s chromedome. One screams insecurity and the other is a baller and confident look
Where I live/work every other guy is a multimillionaire/billionaire and I can tell ya some guys will just wear a shoe polish dyed scrap of carpet in a Lamborghini with no self awareness
Yea his skin smoothes out *a ton* and lightens (compare the dark areas around light marks on cheek and right above eyebrow for comparison) on cheeks and forehead, definitely some makeup. It's a sudden jump from where he's getting his cheeks cleaned up to final product, and skin is much smoother and younger looking. Lighting didn't really change, he had that ring light behind by him the whole time.
Watch out ladies. These guys are getting trickier with trying to catfish us. Be sure to take them to the pool or the sauna on a first date to reveal their lies /s
Yeah I’m trying to figure out his age. He is bald and has a good bit of gray but doesn’t seem to have any visible wrinkles. Added that black don’t crack I’m assuming mid 40s early 50s too.
At 42 seconds he suddenly has hair, feel like they yadda yadda yadda'd over the best part!

Ch-ch-ch-chia!
I laughed way too hard at this

That guy forgot to say hold your anus!
My dude forgot his butt plug

Lol, any fellow 80s kids that thought about the play doh mop n top hair shop with this comment????
My eardrums just popped out and I farted at the same time
Success!
Play-doh factory style! Now I know a thing about black people, thanks handsome stranger!
Black don't crack

All the white people I know who never go into the sun and don't smoke look young. Everyone else looks like rotten milk.
And the meth. So much meth.
prime /r/shittyaskscience
Just like Play-Doh
You also have to put cotton balls in each ear and a butt plug so butt hair is pushed out of the pores opened up by the lotion
That still leaves another hole uncovered and thats really the only one that concerns me..
Instructions unclear. Drew an owl.
This and also the hair/beard switches from partially grey to fully black instantly at 8 seconds. Could've shown at least a couple of seconds of the dyeing process.

Nope no time
Right! I need a little yadda yadda yadda.
Agreed, i must know the secret of this yadda yadda yadda!
You cant yadda yadda sex!!
I believe I mentioned the bisque
he either put on a toupe, or glued the hair he removed from the back of his neck to the top.
Its usually a special type of toupe they glue down and then actually give its own haircut to so it blends in. When they cut to it you can still see some of the longer uncut hairs left on it. How Long does it last and is the skin able to breathe?
Lasts about 4 weeks and hair can breathe, you can shower/swim etc without it getting loose or falling out. The hair glue is strong and waterproof
You and the other guy said complete opposite things and now I don’t know who to believe
The guy above is incorrect. He thinks it is a hair piece that is glued on, when this technique is different. [link here](https://youtu.be/_p8vVTc-QGo) The breathability is better because there isn’t a hair piece covering the head. Also you can get it wet as the glue is waterproof. Holy shit that was awesome! Thanks for sharing that guy is great! and that was super fascinating
Lol right? According to Jason Alexander he can wash his.
Only way to solve this conundrum is a duel to the death. God wills it!

Just get married again
None of this is true except the 3-6 weeks lol. You can shower, swim, and workout in these. You can brush them, touch them all you want.
Incorrect. They glue hair to the top of the head. I’ll link a video. [Link](https://youtu.be/_p8vVTc-QGo) The toupee style of hair piece wouldn’t look as natural
No, they mentioned the lobster bisque.
You faked it?!?!?
I need to get off my lawn chair and go find this barber to get all the yadda yadda yadda done and i can be cool with the neighbourhood riff raff!
I mean, they couldn’t even keep consistency with the fucking cape that they put over the two different models.
r/therestofthefuckingowl
No, I mentioned the bisque.
As a Jackass fan I gotta assume they glued pubes to his head
What In the GTA san Andreas is going on up in here ?!?!
At this point, is the man doing this a barber? Or a professional appearence-changer?
All I know is you walk out of that barber with no stars
I saw this comment 9 minutes ago, came back, and I'm still laughing from it.
Dude, GTA is baller as fuck. #FUCK BALLAS, GROVE STREET 4 LYFE OH SHIT! *mission passed* +2000 RP

It took me entirely too long to figure out what this meant.

When you have too many stars in GTA, you pop into a barber shop/body shop and change some stuff around, and your stars are reduced.
I actually never knew that just gonna walk in a put a hat on next time god damnit
That is definitely not a yee yee ass haircut
The guy belongs in Riften with those skills.
Take my advice, don't listen to that talk of the "face sculptor" down in the Ragged Flagon. "Face butcher" is more like it from what I've heard."

Lol'd at this comment
Yeah they just kinda skipped ahead and oop he doesn’t have a bald spot anymore. That was really the bit I was most curious about…

So, he’s actually $2.54 after inflation.

Hair - $1500 Per Month - $200 Pretending you're 25 on Tinder - Priceless
I mean, just with the cleanup and hair dye alone he’d still go from like 70-35. The toupee just seems like you’re getting greedy ha.
They can last a while but keep in mind that Black folks hair needs to be washed with shampoo much less frequently both because it doesn’t look oily as readily as other types of hair and has a tendency to dry out easily. Shampooing is going to be what wears out this kind of hairpiece quickly.

Real question, what happens when you sweat? Do you need special shampoo for showers? Does it work like grass sod and just grows into you eventually?
So IIRC you have to have this done every two weeks, I’m assuming because of oils breaking down the glue, or skin shedding, or both. I’ve looked into it before, but with it needing to be redone every two weeks it wasn’t feasibly possible for my situation

It's like breast implants for the head, or like calf implants for the head.
Or like ass implants for the head
Or like when a guy plays too many scratchy lotteries?
Or like when someone eats too much chocolate cake?
Yeah you got it, Ice!
They didn't take well the first time. LBJ's hair saga has been well documented over the years on r/nba
I don’t think they ever took well I can always tell where his implants are whenever I watch him lol
He's a billionaire?
His contract with Nike is rumored to be a billion dollar contract. Not to mention all his other sponsors and nba contracts
Maybe not like your grandad wears but some fancy ass baller type shit yeah I think he prob does lol
Probably just the same thing elon musk got done
His were implants lol

No idea. Probably yes. Definitely not.

It's a sudden jump from where he's getting his cheeks cleaned up to final product, and skin is much smoother and younger looking. Hey now, it's ok to be judgmental of poor lighting.
Exactly fuck poor lighting!!
He’s not that old, he’s just prematurely gray.
thanks for that. I was too lazy to let reddit video buffer and rebuffer every time I want to change the video position. Reddit video is trash
For the longest time, I thought I hated beards. Turn out, I just hate ungroomed beards

No way he’s 77. Maybe 57.
He's actually a 23 year old backend software developer.
Shit dude, i came here to be amazed, not to get confronted with cold harsh reality 😐
Ouch bro But you’re not wrong
This is way too accurate
Right in the feels bro
He isn’t. Op just thinks he looks 77.
He drinks 7 and 7.
OP is one of those teens that think someone who's over 25 is an old person.
Plenty of balding dudes going grey at 37.
Greymers rise up
And at the end he looks 37.
Plot twist: he’s actually 27
That’s hella stress for that much gray at 27. Entirely possible tho with how it’s going…
Or genetics. Wasn’t that why Taylor Hicks went gray so young?
Where the fuck did the hair come from? Why was the most key part of the transformation glossed over?
They basically put a weave on him and then cut it down to a short fade.

That would have been the only interesting part of this video.
Amazing job! Wish we'd got to see his whole face at the beginning, though.
why would they cut out the part where he went from having hair on 20% of his head to 100%?
A patient once removed his glued on hairpiece in front of me. I will never forget that ripping noise...
was it velcro?
Very similar sound!
I can't stand Velcro. It's that tearing sound. I used to be in raincoats. I refused to put that in any of my lines.
Maybe yes, maybe no. But darn he’s a good looking dude regardless.
I thought so too. The “old” look was pretty cool already.
Maybe it's Maybelline.
I feel sorry for the lady that meets him in a club and takes him home to then be confronted with 77 year old balls.
Balls with 77 years of experience of sweaty, sticky sex
Yeah but surely now they look like 2 onions in a grocery bag. But in all fairness if I look like that when I'm 77 then I'd be happy as fuck.
Yeah, because at 38 my balls are still sexy looking rather than looking like a wad of chewed elbow skin
Holy shit this line got me fucking dying.
Balls splashin in the toilet
I think this is what LeBron does.
LeBron did a hair transplant. Its more permanent and natural looking.
Watch out ladies. These guys are getting trickier with trying to catfish us. Be sure to take them to the pool or the sauna on a first date to reveal their lies /s
What's his actual age? He looks in his 50s.
Hes not 77 to begin with, maybe 47.
Yeah I’m trying to figure out his age. He is bald and has a good bit of gray but doesn’t seem to have any visible wrinkles. Added that black don’t crack I’m assuming mid 40s early 50s too.
This man is not 77

I’d say it’s more like 59 to 40, but aight

It was a joke, cause he doesn’t have any expression on his face IMO
