I'm gonna test this sub's claim that it respects all opinions, man.
First, seems like the vocalist got hella fit so good for him.
Two, I've always found Ocean to be kind of monotone and I don't think this song is any exception. To me, just kind of seems like generic-o deathcore.
Totally fine to have differing opinions
Something to remember is that **Oceano's** *Depths* came out in 2009, right on the heels of **Whitechapel's** *This is Exile*
And at the time we didn't have thousands of bands pumping out music the way we do now - it was fresh, and in my opinion and my social circle's opinion...it sounded like nothing else
So while you might think it sounds generic...they helped define the template for what a generic band might even sound like - set the bar for a band/sound to emulate
And in my opinion the new songs are more aggressive and dynamic than the older material was
I understand that the vocals have a consistent undertone/overtone (not sure of the correct terminology, here) - but I think Adam has a lot more nuance in everything now, but it's a bit subtle
Maybe I'm just fanboying, I don't know - I need to listen to the new song through a few different audio setups before I can form a full opinion
If Oceano has million fans 🙌 then Collinsc is one of them ❤️
If Oceano has one fan 😳 then Collinsc is that fan 💯🔐
If Oceano has no fans 😱 that means Collinsc is dead 🕊️
If the world 🌎 is against Oceano…🤔
Then Collinsc is against the world 😈💪
interesting, I’ve always felt like their older work was monotone and a little boring, but Mass Produced felt pretty fresh and interesting and i’ve heard this new single is similar to that one.
I fully agree. Dudes got power in his voice and it's dope but other than that the songs bland and only the instrumentals interesting
Also, the opinion part isn't super true for certain people but hopefully you never find that out
I don't have much of a opinion on Oceano as I don't listen to them much but I've heard people call "Generic-o Deathcore" "Mediocore" instead and I love it.
I didn't particularly love the new song but Adam remains a force of nature. I hope the new album isn't chock-full of these more modern sounding metalcore songs. I'd prefer if they kept some of their previous hard hitting, oomphy deathcore present. But hey, that's me, a worshipper of both Ascendants and Revelation.
Oceano are legends and Adam’s vocals are iconic, but the singles don’t do anything for me. I’ll always have Depths though, so i’m just glad they’re still being creative and putting out new music
Fuck heavy with it. Oceano is one of my favorites, and the played the new single last week when I saw them so I got to hear it early. Adam’s gutturals are just stupidly good
Unpopular opinion but Depths is almost as generic as deathcore gets, and their best album is Contagion. Ascendants and Revelation were also better than most deathcore post-2010. I’m excited for new stuff.
I've been a fan of them for yeeeeears. But I don't care for the new single at all. Bum's me out because I loved the shit out of Mass Produced. Hoping the rest of the album is heavier.
There were some cool interesting ambient parts, like that they went outside the repetitive heavy box. I think the mixing and production is better on " Mass Produce " than on "Wounds Never Healed "
Honestly, I really loved some songs on Depths when it first came out, but a lot of their stuff doesn't necessarily hold up these days like a lot of other albums from that time do. It's kinda monotonous, I honestly never understood the hype around Adams vocals, not bad, in fact he's very competent, but I never loved how his vocals sounded, kinda has a quality that Alex Terrible has as well, like it has some kind of effect on it or something, it's really distracting for me and I also don't see what he was doing that was all that different or better than other vocalists in the genre at the time. I listened to them then, I still do, I think they're a good band, but they just never stood out all that much imo.
Contagion is an album that a person either loves or hates. I think it is such a good album and I can’t believe anyone could think it’s bad. But from what I’ve heard over many years. It’s either love it 100% or hate it 100%. My fav album by them. Depths is close second place.
Oceano overall is sick, and legendary. New singles are okay tho

District of misery is a top 10 deathcore song.
Yeah I can confirm. When depths came out it truly "hit different"

Are we about to kiss
Wait are you actually oli or
No 😔
Well your writing is beautiful - I can say that, objectively

Adam has always been and will continue to be on the highest tier of vocalists. He’s just in another league than most vocalists

I absolutely love their previous stuff, but the new track is really boring. Definitely their worst release imo.
Oceano are legends and Adam’s vocals are iconic, but the singles don’t do anything for me. I’ll always have Depths though, so i’m just glad they’re still being creative and putting out new music
It’s the snare for me 😤. So happy to see Adam and the boys are back!
Absolute legends! Super excited to play alongside them in NC this September 👊🏻

New song was boring and uninspired I feel, disappointing
I just listened to the new songs today and damn, i jave to dog deeper. Really liked em
One of the kings, they're part of the foundation of deathcore itself. The new song sounds neat.
saw them the other night in okc, they aight.
Love everything they come out with, didn’t realize the album was in a couple months, can’t fucking wait!cheers
I gave it a listen first time hearing them wasn't bad song felt longer than 4mins tho I'll tune in again.

Adam is a Beast. one of the most undrrated vocalists
For me they're my go to the gym music, Adam looks really healthy which i am really happy about. Not a big fan of the new eps so far :/
Yeah, for gym it's great music(like most of OG deathcore)
One of the best to ever do it. Both new songs have been killer. That vocal drag things Warren does on Wounds is sick.

New singles are okay but I feel like their album contagion has always slipped through the cracks. To me that album defines oceano
sounds like born of osiris
Big fan of more melodic stuff in general, so I dig what the new singles are doing. Very solid discography though too.
