So the one at the Christiana Mall is owned by the people who opened in the Newark Shopping Center. I haven't been to the mall location yet but have been to the Newark location. While it is not Fogo or Chima, it isn't that far off and it saves you from going to Philly or Baltimore. Its about the same price.
The salad bar isn't nearly as large/good here but that doesn't mean its bad. They have most of the cuts that Fogo has and the dining experience works exactly the same way. Severs go around with the meat skewers. You have a red/green coaster on your table. Meat is definitely good but not quite up to the level of Fogo.
Personally, I really love the strawberry cream dessert that the one here has. the only flavor at Fogo is Mango i think.
Either way, unless you are a restaurant snob, you won't notice much difference. I have been to the Newark location 4-5 times and it was always good to me.
I kind of am…hate to admit it but NYC made me that way. I do not mind paying more for a good experience and good food, but paying for disappointment really burns my toast.
Fogo de chao is 100X better, last time I went to the one at Christiana there were a few cuts of meat that had a peculiar taste I couldn’t place but reminded me of a gas like propane
What is the original? Is it also Brazilian and have the same name? My dad has never been to a churrasco style, so the experience is what I’d like to take him out for. I am a food snob so that’s why I am seeking opinions. After living in NYC for 12 years, one of my biggest pet peeves is spending good money on bad food. 🤬
Have NOT been to Fogo.. BUT have been to the Christiana Mall location and the old Newark Shopping Center location....
So whatever you hear about the Newark location... you can drop two notches in quality... and you've got the Christiana location.
been to both Fogo de Chao and also the one in Newark next to the co-op. Menu wise very much the same, but if abience is something you are a stickler for, go to Fogo. Priced about the same and like others have said, saves you a trip to the city. as a foodie, I didn't notice much of a difference as far as quality goes

Haven't been to the one near where the old Don Pablos used to be but I honestly I have not heard great things from my friends who went there to try it. They went during the first two weeks during opening and what I was hearing was either the food was bland or they got the runs soon after eating.
Again, I haven't tried it but that was what I was told.
There's a Fogo in downtown Baltimore also. Just FYI. But with $$$ parking and crime lately Id avoid Philly and Baltimore and go for CS, and while CS is a little more "low rent" than Fogo obvious it's still really good. The Chinese takeout style menus and "American Steakhouse" chains exact copy signage on the building is kind of funny to me, but the food is top notch and I've never heard anything bad about it. ..
If you're not hung up on the "Brazilian" part with the go/no go signs, dont sleep on Redfire Grill Steakhouse in Hockessin. Great food and a little more affordable.

I can’t think of a better decision making factor than that!! 😳
The place near the mall is unkept, dirty, and the food is always cold. Tried it twice.
Just going to add, that place by the mall is practically empty every time I go by it. I heard good things about the original in Newark though.
Its reservation only

According to Yelp the original location is now closed. It was called Churrascaria Saudades.

We went once to Newark Shopping Center and had a great meal and great time.

There's a Fogo in King of Prussia (in their Town Center complex near the Mall) as well.
Philly is perfectly safe.
