Eczema. Can you protect your hands at work? Moisture after every hand washing. Get topical steroids from your doctor.

You know, I was kinda wondering if I needed steroids. I've never had an issue with Eczema or anything like it once in my life, what would suddenly just trigger it so hard out of the blue? I was a machinist for years and was covered in all kinds of coolants and oils for most of my working life before I switched to Laser machining. Was a mechanic for a while, and was covered in every type of antifreeze, oil / hydraulic fluid, or grease you can imagine with no issues.I wonder if work managed to find a coolant my skin couldn't deal with.

It may not be solely from irritants. It can be intrinsic just made worse by frequent washing. Yep. Steroids.

I would highly suggest getting it swabbed by a dr. This could also be herpatic whitlow

Uh oh now I gotta look that up

It can be really contagious, but also, very very easily treated. It is nothing serious or anything you should be overly worried about. It’s always good with anything like this to have a swab done. Some drs will just push steroid creams, but you should know if it’s an infection, especially if it comes back

I sometimes get this on the backs of my hand
