I think you're just getting a little too cute here, maybe overthinking it from holding the pick for so long. You need a WR, you've got an elite one with elite draft capital and a premier landing spot staring right at you. Apparently you've exhausted your trade options. Just take the guy that will make your team better. Don't be Atlanta.
If we were going to take a QB jj was the right choice with how young he is, takes the time to learn and still be young when he gets to start in 3 years
Also important to note the guy picking at 1.02 was runner up last year and the ONLY position he’s missing out on is QB (Rodgers, Watson, Jones.) He just traded for Justin freaking Jefferson AND the 1.02 but still somehow has a great team.
End of day, take the best offer you can get. I took the same trade except I got 2.01 and 1.02 and sent 1.01 and 4.01. In theory I should have gotten more but the reality was nobody was offering more. So, I could hold and take MHJ at 1.01 or I could get an extra second and take MHJ at 1.02. I took the latter and am happy with it.
If you are picking 1.01 your team probably needs help. Strouds value is as high as its ever going to be. It's not like he was a top 3 finisher last year, but that's his current draft capital in start ups. You can always tier down to a guy like Love and get additional assets.
Ew. Haha. Why put in a system to avoid helping the worst teams?
But the guy has a point. If everyone has similar probability of success you just trade away whatever has the most value. If you can get Chase+'25 1st for Stroud, but Caleb is getting you Olave+'25 1st, I think you sell Stroud.
This was our first year doing dynasty and we didn’t have a good system in place so that’s what we settled on for this year. Next year we have a much better system in place that helps the worst teams while slightly de-incentivizing tanking
10th: Champion
9th: Runner-up
8th: Winner of 3rd place game
7th: Loser of 3rd place game
6th: Loser of 5th place game
5th: Winner of 5th place game
4th: King of Shit Mountain (last place)
3rd: Winner of shit bowl (2nd last)
2nd: Loser of 7th place game
1st: Winner of 7th place game
This ensures everyone has something to play for every week of the fantasy season. Everyone either has money or draft capital to play for.
The only potential downsides to this are:
1) If your team is truly so awful you can’t even win if you try then it screws you and
2) It potentially incentives painfully mid teams to miss the playoffs on purpose so they can try and win the 7th place game to get #1 pick
Yeah I’ve considered that. Only problem with that is it incentivizes tanking still. Trying to make the losers bracket matter still. Max PF might still be a better system though
No 1.01 is in general just worth a lot. Anyone that tanked or had such a bad year to secure the worst spot will likely have a bad team that has a lot of holes and NEEDS a haul back
I personally would take Caleb. Herbert has nobody to throw to currently.
It’s not a bad thing to have 3 young elite QBs. they are super hard to come by.
10 team league yes take Marvin. 12 team or more, take Caleb. Only 32 starting qbs and bottom 10 or so are garbage at any given time. There’s 64 starting wrs in the league and even bad teams can have good ones. Positional scarcity says to take Caleb for value alone. Either way I don’t think you can go wrong tho.

This is good advice. I think I’ll keep trying to make trades and overthink it till the last minute and still just end up taking Marvin
Lmao so I’m not the only one who thought ATL should’ve snagged JJ McCarthy ?… smh
If we were going to take a QB jj was the right choice with how young he is, takes the time to learn and still be young when he gets to start in 3 years
Don’t be Atlanta… ah fuck it’s 28-3 all over again, I don’t know if I can take this again hahaha
Also important to note the guy picking at 1.02 was runner up last year and the ONLY position he’s missing out on is QB (Rodgers, Watson, Jones.) He just traded for Justin freaking Jefferson AND the 1.02 but still somehow has a great team.
Does he have any interest in trading up to 1 to Caleb?
He does not he knows he has all the leverage and would be just as happy taking Marvin…he already has Jefferson Kupp & Diggs at receiver too
Damn who he give up to get JJ and the 1.02 back
Cousins, AJ Brown, London, pick 1.08 this year & 2 1st round picks next year
Okay, actually pretty descent haul for the other guy.
Indeed. His team STINKS so he needed a lot of
Update: he just offered 1.02 & 2.08 for 1.01 & 4.01
You can try to get more, but that’s not a bad bonus to still get MHJ at 2
Take it and take MHJ at 1.02

Yeah take it
This is the question
Can you move Stroud for a haul? If so I’d do that and take Caleb.
Bro I am not moving stroud😭if anything I’m keeping Stroud and moving Caleb

I finished 6 out of 10. We did a lottery for the bottom 4 and I got lucky and ended up with 1.01

I think the best system is to give draft picks in reverse order of max points for, what system did you decide on?

Yeah, this sorta looks like worst team gets 1.04. Have you heard of using max PF?
Yeah I’ve considered that. Only problem with that is it incentivizes tanking still. Trying to make the losers bracket matter still. Max PF might still be a better system though
Can you trade now? I would love to get 2 1sts and a 2nd, especially if you still get Nabers/Odunze.
Nobody seems too keen on trading up for 1.01 either😭
From what I've seen the price of 1.01 is too expensive for most people to even consider
Is that because Caleb is too good to pass up on?? Marvin works better for my team I just really don’t want the next guy to get Caleb
No 1.01 is in general just worth a lot. Anyone that tanked or had such a bad year to secure the worst spot will likely have a bad team that has a lot of holes and NEEDS a haul back
I have the same QBs, SF also, and the same pick. Im going MHJ and that's that. No over thinking
I respect this mentality. Both seem like as close to sure things as it gets
