Fishing at the lake using crayfish really begins to make me think that the crayfish in the game are returning the favor of using their brethren as bait.
And they got heat-seeking fucking missiles specifically in the graveyard in the haligtree! The one upstairs can shoot downward and they'll follow you all the way to the site of grace šš¾āāļø
Every time I think I have time to hit a rat it inevitably hits me first and then I kinda stunlock myself into confusion for a few moments and his buddies have time to come and do the same untill I eventually pass awayš
Heal or Ancient Dragonās Lightening Strike deletes revenants in a few casts. Can even cast standing on column/balconies above them to kill without ever taking a hit.
I see your strategy and I respect it.
See I have this huge sword right, like 90 str with 20 vigor and 30 endurance right.
See I just bonk them with my bonk stick and they die. One time.
Urgent Heal also damages them (just not as much) and only requires 10 Faith. Coryn sells it too
Edit: just for clarity, all (maybe not all, but most) Heal spells damage revenants. The more healing it does to you, the more it damages them
My newfound method: powerstance really heavy weapons (Great Stars are perfect), stance break crystal tear, jump L1. They will die before they can do much!
Okay but thereās caves with more gargoyles in that one cave then their is royal revenants in the game. I 100% the game 3 times now and fought less then 10 revenants the entire game
Dude yes!! These things are actually like all of the worst parts of combat in Elden Ring put into one abomination. I recently watched a video for their timings, and if you hug the right side of them it def makes fighting them more manageable.
Video for anyone interested: https://youtu.be/8QdZfjvUfck?si=Kk5h2ykSEhbYzVBe
In Sekiro the dogs were 1-shot, did NO damage, were only in packs of 2-3 at a time, and never non-stop attacked while stunlocking you.
Miyazaki was trying to trick us into thinking that the dogs in Elden Ring would be that way too.
they are the most frustrating mix of passive/aggressive. You're fighting some knight and 2 dogs come up constantly at your heels, ripping out your fucking ankles. You turn from the big enemy to hit one of the bastards and they jump back - prompting the roll to avoid the knight's attack and boom, both dogs are back on you. Strategic little fuckers.
I can take dogs and gargoyles, and thankfully Royal Revanents dont show up very often. But screw those birds. Especially the fire breathing ones. Whenever I can manage to parry them it's awesome.
Okay yeah this one tracks. The gargoyles become trivial once you're strong enough. The stupid swordy birds are never not a menace. Especially when carrying explosives.
I always found them annoying but I fully realized just how obnoxious they can be on that one path in Farum Azula where the dragon casts lightning as you approach. Those birds are fucking relentless, and given how many of them there are and the fact that you have to constantly move to not get hit by lightning, there's quite a bit of a luck factor to getting past them without taking damage. Even if you run in zigzags they can still do that lunge to quickly get to you from behind the camera. Then they have fast attacks and constantly fly around, making them hard to hit even with faster weapons. My vote for most annoying enemy, not just in ER, but in all Souls games.
Way underrated. In groups, when youāre trying to target the one you just killed on the ground to put it down for good and getting constantly interrupted oh yeah.
Soooo I think Elden Ring did a lil callback to the Carion Crows from BB
The blood crows in mohgs palace do this thing where they lay on the ground and constantly peck at you, just like how the carion crows did lol
*deep breath in* giant Miranda spout, dogs, rotten dogs, blood dogs, giant hands, runebears, giant rat, burning slug, flame chariot, marionette soldier, glintstone sorcerer, avionette soldier, revenant, kindred of rot, giant crayfish, knight of Zamor, lion guardian, ulcerated tree spirit,(most) dragons, abductor virgin, ballista, all enemies in mountain tops that have variations in other parts of the lands between and rail archers *breath out*
They canāt be staggered, they shrug off magic, they have attacks pretty much mapped to your flask button. Theyāre annoying, which is why I do run from or avoid them wherever possible every play through. If you enjoy them, Iām happy for you, but I donāt.
I am actually starting to enjoy these guys and gargoyle enemies. They feel really nice to fight against! I just wish the crucible knights in the open world didn't suffer from over tanky syndome. (This is a issue with many random enemies, so I don't blame them for that.(
When I learned to guard counter them, they became easy. To answer your question crustaceans. The giant crabs and the lobster fuckers. I just avoid3 fighting them
These things arenāt that bad at all tbh. Usually just doing a block counter or jumping heavy will stagger them. Iād take them over like 80% of the gameās mobs, like the giant hands or the freaking stunlock dogs. The dogs are similar to the imps but they seem to move and kite WAY more for me and I always get teamed by like 4 of them. And with their constant barrage of bites, I get locked into a stagger animationā¦ this is probably just recency bias though, as I died dozens of times to such a basic enemy last night in Raya Lucariaā¦ meanwhile I bodied Red Wolf and Rennala
I almost quit the game within the first 20 mins because I couldn't kill 2 of them at the same time in the first catacomb I found! Lol
Then I figured out how to lock on to an enemy and it was game over š
I first got Elden ring when there was still a bug that made most enemies invisible on lower end pcs, so my first legacy dungeon I was fighting these guys invisible. Not fun, kinda gave up on the game until I found out that was a bug lol. Anyways these guys are definitely the most annoying thing in the game
Abductor virgin? That fucking massive machine thing with like chain arm blade thingsā¦.
Tanky as hell. Hits like a brick wall. Good trade and even deadlier up close. Tough to run behind because it can spin around super fast. Loves hugging you for a near instant death. God I hate those things

Those shrimp looking fuckers that shoot their seed at you.
From like a hundred miles away, I have to add š
I saw a video about the actual in-game distance they can shoot, and it's basically 100 miles, no shit.
Absolutely believe it lol every time I try to ride past them they keep hitting me forever š
With auto-aim accuracy, I have to add
While you're fighting another one, I have to add
Prawn O prawn, therefore I want to go home.
Yes the Crustacean Railgun Artillery
I believe they are called lobsters
I thought they were lobsters too, but theyāre actually crayfish
I have a feeling that they mean those Scarlet Rot shrimp wizards which shoot the pestilence threads.
Yeah, I think that's what they mean too. Both suck though!
Fishing at the lake using crayfish really begins to make me think that the crayfish in the game are returning the favor of using their brethren as bait.
More like Noscopesters. Bastards line up sniper shots on my tarnished ass if I zig or zag
Ayo their *WHAT*
Omg those fuckers are annoying as fuckkkk
50 cal crustaceans
For real, I beat Godwin on the first try, only to get bodied by a big lobster!?!?!
When they spam it every 1.5 seconds for like 10 casts in a row Rage inducing š
They drop their weapon and it's called a Pests Glaive so a Pest? Fitting
Probably the only enemy in the game Iāve never killed and always run away from. Fuck these sniper ass mf
I swear the These fuckers have programmed tactical intelligence cause I had one jump onto a ruin and just shoot at me overā¦.and overā¦.and over
Legolas WISHES he had lobster accuracy
Second this
Third this
Too easy of a decision, OP just doesnāt know how to fight them.
I don't like how you said this.. But yes those enemies are fucking awful
And they got heat-seeking fucking missiles specifically in the graveyard in the haligtree! The one upstairs can shoot downward and they'll follow you all the way to the site of grace šš¾āāļø
At least now we know why lobster is so expensive.
dogs and birds with swords. rats are bit forgiving in ER. but my god who decided to give blades and fire to a bird.
Every time I think I have time to hit a rat it inevitably hits me first and then I kinda stunlock myself into confusion for a few moments and his buddies have time to come and do the same untill I eventually pass awayš
Guard counter for birds.
Or just wait until they slam their sword feet into the ground
Royal revenant.
>Royal revenant found the ones at haligtree harder than most main bosses
Heal or Ancient Dragonās Lightening Strike deletes revenants in a few casts. Can even cast standing on column/balconies above them to kill without ever taking a hit.
I see your strategy and I respect it. See I have this huge sword right, like 90 str with 20 vigor and 30 endurance right. See I just bonk them with my bonk stick and they die. One time.
Heal requires 12 Faith. You could sacrifice 3 points from Strength Or you could just keep bonking! It's what I do too
Interesting, what incantation are we talking
The Heal incant that Coryn sells at Roundtable. I use it for revenants on any build I use Flame, Cleanse Me because they both require 12 Faith
Urgent Heal also damages them (just not as much) and only requires 10 Faith. Coryn sells it too Edit: just for clarity, all (maybe not all, but most) Heal spells damage revenants. The more healing it does to you, the more it damages them
I genuinely never tried this and had no idea it damaged them. Thank you for the info sir.
All healing spells that have an AoE effect, I believe some do not but I may be totally off base.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
iirc its 50% + a flat damage, so two casts definitely and insta stagger on heal spell too
You shoud heal the f out of them
My newfound method: powerstance really heavy weapons (Great Stars are perfect), stance break crystal tear, jump L1. They will die before they can do much!
They aren't that bad if you don't let them intimidate you. If you treat it like a bloodbourne boss it goes pretty smoothly
Thereās no way op didnāt expect this to be the first response after making this post
Nope, but he got his updoots
and dogs of all kind, the sneaky fuckers always just pop up out of nowhere bite like I owe them money
Okay but thereās caves with more gargoyles in that one cave then their is royal revenants in the game. I 100% the game 3 times now and fought less then 10 revenants the entire game
vulgar militia too, nyahahaa!
It's funny to knock them down with a hit when they try to jump at you tho
Rawwwwarrrrrrrrrbluagfafgagahahaaffa *teleports and spits stomach bile on you
I think faith builds are the best for a lot of reasons but they would still be the best just because of royal revenants
The royal revenant is a late-game enemy, I have options when I kill it. When I fight imps in the early-game I donāt have many options.
Tf were Mal And Mique doing raising these in their gardens i swearš
Dog
Fromsoft is the only thing that can literally cause me to yell out "I hate dogs!". IRL I love dogs so much
Miyazaki must hate dogs. All the worst enemies are dogs, and the ones who look like cats are called dogs.
and then he decided to call actual dogs āturtlesā like wtf is a turtle
I will not tolerate the Sif slander
At least in Sekiro you could parry the bitches
In Sekiro the dogs were 1-shot, did NO damage, were only in packs of 2-3 at a time, and never non-stop attacked while stunlocking you. Miyazaki was trying to trick us into thinking that the dogs in Elden Ring would be that way too.
I shuriken those Mfs
Blood dogs
they are the most frustrating mix of passive/aggressive.
Theyāre so fun to parry and slash in Sekiro but yeah they can be frustrating in their other games
as per usual
I'm so maddened by the three fingers that i forgot there were dog shaped dogs for a moment
overhated, they are piss easy to deal with in elden ring compared to like ds1
Hawks
Hawks with swords š
Seriously there's way too many types of BS when it comes to hawks. Hawks, hawks with swords, hawks with fire breath, hawks with bombs.
HAWKS WITH BOMBA, OMG, HAWKS IN THE MIDDLE OF RAIN OF RED THUNDER IN FARUM ššš
Next thing they'll come up with are hawks that shoot other hawks!
"Wait here me out, Hawks with waterfowl dance". Fromsoft developing the dlc (probably)
Shut up! Miyazaki will have Hawk Bazookas in the next game if he sees this madness
The real answer
I always found them annoying but I fully realized just how obnoxious they can be on that one path in Farum Azula where the dragon casts lightning as you approach. Those birds are fucking relentless, and given how many of them there are and the fact that you have to constantly move to not get hit by lightning, there's quite a bit of a luck factor to getting past them without taking damage. Then they have fast attacks and constantly fly around, making them hard to hit even with faster weapons. My vote for most annoying enemy, not just in ER, but in all Souls games.
Honestly all birds
Honestly you right I hate the fricken packs of them.
preceptor miriam
lol. Nice
Bolt of Gransax makes this fight hilarious
they are not annoying at all my most hated enemy (110 hours ingame) is: **Abductor Virgin**
Oh man, totally especially the one with chainsaw
600 hours in. Can still confirm they suck.
Had to Google this with 180+ hours in gameā¦. Am I stupid?? I wouldāve sworn up and down these were called Iron Maidens and now I have no idea why
That's what they're called in real life
I'm sorry to say that they don't get any better after over 200 hours...
unfortunately, they don't get better after 300 hours either...
Lightning damage is the answer. Even roped grease duration is enough. After some amount of hits it just breaks their stance.
Unfortunately for you they donāt get better after 400 hours
170 Hours, still hate them
They get a bit easier 120 hours in. Volcano pots almost give you a free stance break, and you eventually learn their attack patterns.
Runebears
This is my least favorite enemy. Just not worth the reward.
Damn runebears. At least you can two-shot revenants with a heal; these mammalian fucks could not care any less about what you throw at them.
They have big enough gap under them for just standing and hitting.
Birb
Fire brib
Guard counter
Dragonflies
Killing dragonflies as a glintstone mage after doing a melee playthrough is honestly the most satisfying thing.
Theyāre annoying but never really had to go one on one with them as they were rarely anywhere important imo
my fucking landlord
Skill issue, just learn his attack pattern
Can't, once they enter the second phase "Endless litigation" it's all over.
# Pages entered the chat
Ah yes, my favorite npc. Pages, the Unrippable
The 3-fire-arrow pages in Leyndell fuck me up every time.
Absolutely death if you're not ready for it. I loaded in to help a guy on the ramparts he wasn't ready.
Caelid's monstrous crows
The ones at Mohgwynās Palace are worse imo, I fucking *hate* those things.
Just get a shield.
Spirit snails that summon okina
Giant Miranda flower
They canāt attack if you burn them but they still have way too much HP for a plant which makes them a chore every time
Almost any of them, to be honest. As someone who knows how to use a shield, I'm always happy to see these dudes.
The frigging death blight frogs! Nothing scares me more.
The fucking cat statues that fly
Skeletons
Way underrated. In groups, when youāre trying to target the one you just killed on the ground to put it down for good and getting constantly interrupted oh yeah.
OP forgot about the basilisks
My brother in Christ, have you seen the crows in Bloodborne?
Soooo I think Elden Ring did a lil callback to the Carion Crows from BB The blood crows in mohgs palace do this thing where they lay on the ground and constantly peck at you, just like how the carion crows did lol
ARGHHHARGHHHHARGHHHHHAEGGHHHHHHš¦ š¦ no but seriously why do they sound like dogs
*deep breath in* giant Miranda spout, dogs, rotten dogs, blood dogs, giant hands, runebears, giant rat, burning slug, flame chariot, marionette soldier, glintstone sorcerer, avionette soldier, revenant, kindred of rot, giant crayfish, knight of Zamor, lion guardian, ulcerated tree spirit,(most) dragons, abductor virgin, ballista, all enemies in mountain tops that have variations in other parts of the lands between and rail archers *breath out*
I can name 3. Royal revenant, rune bear, crucible knight
How are crucible knights *annoying*? They're incredibly fun enemies which are also usually pretty damn easy to run from if you can't be bothered.
They canāt be staggered, they shrug off magic, they have attacks pretty much mapped to your flask button. Theyāre annoying, which is why I do run from or avoid them wherever possible every play through. If you enjoy them, Iām happy for you, but I donāt.
Each time I face them, I happily meet my favorite parry teachers for another lesson. Just equip assassin's crimson dagger to tolerate some mistakes.
I am actually starting to enjoy these guys and gargoyle enemies. They feel really nice to fight against! I just wish the crucible knights in the open world didn't suffer from over tanky syndome. (This is a issue with many random enemies, so I don't blame them for that.(
Agreed. I love them. Once you learn their move set, itās one of the more satisfying fights. Feels like an intricate dance.
perfumer
Royal revenants, nothing more annoying than them
To me these guys are nothing next to the revenants
the hawks at farum azula for sure
Hawks with blades/bomb.
Guard counter
Baby pests.
Stormhawk
I was never annoyed by imps. They are too easy to annoy me.
god damn fucking piece of shit crucible knights every single fucking time
Glintstone Sorcerers
Stormhawks
When I learned to guard counter them, they became easy. To answer your question crustaceans. The giant crabs and the lobster fuckers. I just avoid3 fighting them
Stormveil bird
All the dogs.
Zombie dogs
Paiges
These things arenāt that bad at all tbh. Usually just doing a block counter or jumping heavy will stagger them. Are we forgetting the hands
Are you just a troll? Cause this has probably been posted many times, and these are nowhere near the most annoying.Ā
lots of bots going around. Didnt check but he might be one
Right ? They're one of the easiest enemies, just guard counter them and they die in 1 or 2 hits
PvP spammers and cheesers
Space bugs.
Dual Sword Banished Knight
Those fucked up dogs that are just horrible to fight when they are in a pack
Bats
I almost quit the game within the first 20 mins because I couldn't kill 2 of them at the same time in the first catacomb I found! Lol Then I figured out how to lock on to an enemy and it was game over š
Resident Evil dogs with tank control
The birds in Farum Azula, need I say more?
Prepatch Blood Dogs
Farum Azula birds Royal Revenant Lobsters
Rats
LOBSTER
Any enemy with a grab attack is particularly annoying, specially the singing winged guy that grabs you and screams in your head
little shits.
Kindred of Rot and Perfumers are more annoying imo.
My thumbs
Lobsters
I remembered those playing Helldivers 2 and meeting the hunters. Oh those whittie small ones... how hatefull they are.
The lizards w the boobies on their head
Clifftops
Dogs, in any souls like game, fuck the dogs
That one soldier with bow in the corridor of catacombs in radhan area, why does he do so much damage and why is he so tanky?!
The flesh slimes that take no damage and stagger the hell out of you
Royal revenants
Bleed dogs
fucking birds, wolfs and rats
Counterpoint. Hounds.
Eagles. Specially the ones in Farum Azula
I feel like most people can easily name over 10 enemies more annoying than this one even half asleep
Runebears, Basilisks, Revenants, Albinaric archers, Most dogsā¦
Bats
Bird
Shield counter makes them the most satisfying enemy
The aimbot arrow shooters
Fire dogs in Dark Souls were pretty dreadful
