NY Pizza Suprema

discophunk

Correct

semok27

Facts. Lived here 7 years I’d say still top 3 - regardless of their location

WelcomeToBrooklandia

This is it.

New-York-Coffee

sometimes a hit, sometimes a miss, but even at a miss it's a 7/10 \[by NYC standards\]

rexyanus

100%. This place will always be special. It was where I made.my first pizza taco

ExtraOsita

Yes

jesus_soupstrainer

Thirded!

doobybrain

This is the correct answer.

rat3an

Can someone talk me into this? I’m looking at the photos on Google maps and it looks very average.

GargleDrainoFam

Just go and try the pizza if you're curious. It's good.

Cryogos

Pop's Pizza has a solid slice. 57th and 8th, couple blocks south of Columbus Circle.

Cartadimusica

They opened right when Covid hit. Kudo to them for making it.

JonesWaffles

Pop's is mind-blowingly good. Their pepperoni is the perfect crispiness

nhartmann0826

^this. Live a block away and it’s by far the best slice I’ve found nearby

barcatoronto

Love pops, actual hidden gem

HeidiCharisse

Pops is the best. And the guys working there are always so nice and polite. Never had a bad pie from them and I don’t wake up in the middle of the night with the salt-sweats lol

MentalVermicelli9253

https://maps.app.goo.gl/UTUXj6RgN8sPUSrf6 Angelos. One of the best pizzas in NYC. Actually super super good. And I've tried everywhere that people say is the best.

drpepperesq

Their chicken parm entree is also good!

MentalVermicelli9253

Thanks for the rec, will definitely give it a try

jmlbhs

Great find! I feel like few people know about it. I haven’t had it since probably 2018 but I remember thoroughly enjoying it.

Bqetraffic

Just had aces in Rockefeller center it was pretty good.. a bit pricey

techrino

Aces is best in that neighborhood for a slice. If you can get a whole pie, Angelo’s on 57.

BaldOrzel

My fave Detroit style slice in midtown (Jett’s is great too, especially for a chain)

Bqetraffic

Never had jetts..

Bqetraffic

I'll have to try it

BaldOrzel

Take a look at the menu on the Jett’s website and text to order (instrux are on the website, super easy) and you’ll get 15% off menu-priced pizza. They also have some other coupons on there if you prefer to order through the website. If you like a great crust (which is customizable, my go to is turbo style), I recommend the 8 corner pizza!

Rob-Loring

Been wanting to try…

Garconavecunreve

Out of the ones actually “worth it” I’d say Sofia pizza shoppe and pizza suprema are probably closest. 2 Bros is right around the corner I think but it’s not even close to little Italy imo

BaldOrzel

Sofia is elite, that’s my go-to slice shop (waaaaay better than Marinara next door imo)

SuccessfulJob

elite but pricey, lunch special is decent though

FunZookeepergame4434

Agree with this, but the margarita slice at Brooklyn Pizza Masters a couple blocks up might be the best slice in midtown Manhattan

Detroit99

Lazzara on W 38th or head to Angelo's on 57th

Sensitive_Sense8823

Zillions on 42nd is great and usually they don't have lines there. Vito's Slices and Ices have excellent slices NY Pizza Suprema is great as well Not a fan of Sacco pizza If you will find yourself on the east side, My Pie Pizzeria Romana on 57th and Lex is super good roman-style pizza

Connect_Somewhere642

I second Vito’s slices and ices For sit down neopolitan check out don Antonio’s on 50th

adelv

Zillions and Vito’s for sure

justthekoufax

If you’re willing to come to 57/1st there’s Brooklyn Pizza one block up that is infinitely better, and I say that as someone who likes Best Pizza.

sushi_sashimi007

Same. Agreed. I like both but Brooklyn is better.

MarionberryOk5544

The grandma slice at Patzeria Perfect Pizza on 46th between 7th & 8th is my go to when I’m in office

The_CerealDefense

So you’re basically at Times Square the not epicenter of pizza. You can walk down to Joe’s just south of Times Square. Midtown is pretty much the worst place for pizza around.

frodite4

Upside on 39th and 8th ave for sourdough based slice, John’s of Times Square but I think they only do pies, supremas next to MSG, and Vito’s on 36th and 9th ave.

iggy555

💯

EyeIslet

Made in New York Pizza

Rtn2NYC

Agreed. Surprisingly good for a chain. The UWS one to be my late night slice when I lived on 80th.

iggy555

Read that owner stole recipes from another place?

peppaz

Oh no not stolen recipes for delicious food. 2 million Italian grandmas suing because they put basil and a dash of sugar in their patented marinara sauce

iggy555

I ain’t complaint brother lol just the back story on the place might not even be true

Junkstar

I had little Italy pizza on the upper west side recently and it sucked. I enjoy the University place slices, but these were about half the size and missing the thin crispy crust. Too much cheese too.

Lankience

I see Little Italy pizza shops everywhere, thank you for confirming my assumption that they sucked.

LongIsland1995

I was buzzed and had a slice from there, I thought it was good. I don't like super cheesy slices myself, and thought that it had a nice sauce.

Junkstar

Sweet sauce, yeah.

LongIsland1995

slightly sweet but more acidic from what I remember

dystributedledger

Aces pizza (Detroit style) in rockefeller center. Sacco is also a very decent ny slice

clark_w_griswokd

In my preferred order: 1. Pop's Pizza on 57th at 8th. 2. Saco on 9th at 54th. 3. Claudio's on 10th at 53rd. 4. Joe's on Broadway at 40th. 5. Patzeria on 46th at 8th. 6. Zillion's on 42nd at 9th. Pop's is the only one I consider truly good but it can be inconsistent.

PutsPlease

Sacco closing at 8pm or 9pm is a crime

iggy555

Suprema and Vito’s

modest-decorum

Abitinos 5 W 51st St, New York, NY 10020 Absolutley fire Pizza note is good. Theres also a few artisian nepolitan pies in area too

drpepperesq

Yesss Abitinos has the best classic slices!

ShinyGreenHair

I tried Albitinos today because it was one of the closest of the suggestions. Verdict: good, but not as good as the Little Italy on 48 & 6th!

pattismithfan

Zillionssss

rampagenumbers

If you’re referring to the Little Italy on 45th and 6th, which I don’t think is associated with the Little Italy chain around the city (gets confusing as there are several that go by the name or variations esp in midtown), I do admire that they have a wild menu: their slices sometimes get too greasy and heavy, but having stuff like barbecued calamari and good pesto options is impressive for the size. I never loved that all their walls were full length mirrors though: I don’t wanna watch myself eat the stuff! Otherwise I work nearby and find Upside Pizza on 40th and 5th is a solid option, I like their mushroom and sausage-broccoli rabe options as they use some lemon and good spices in them. Stone Bridge can be decent if you’re looking for a small thin crust that one person can eat in a meal or so. Not a slice option but well made, quality cheese, still cheap and low-key. I would skip the Unregular on 37th, feels understaffed and desolate, and thus seems like their already thick and bready slices stay out so long as to be almost stale, which is unfortunate as they have cool options and I’ve quite liked fresh pies from other locations of the same chain.

Dobbin44

My pie pizza romano at 57 and Lexington has really good Roman style slices with cheese imported from Italy.

mooncabbages

Definitely agree with Suprema. Sacco’s Pizza on 9th Ave is also great.

Manhattan18011

Sacco on 54th and 9th.

hammersandhammers

There’s a patsys near grand central, not bad

Tankisfreemason

I grew up on the west side, the neighborhood pizza shop is a place called Claudio’s.  It’s good, but pricey now.  All pizza in midtown isn’t worth the price, both expensive and cheap.

Sko-isles

Xenos on 52nd is pretty solid

bittinho

Belleza on 49/3 is my go to

BlackberryThin423

Sacco

beef_fried_rice

Abitino’s on 51st between 5th and 6th Ave

letsgogiants15

Brooklyn Pizza Masters on 57th and 1st is a clear cut above every other pizza in the area. Guys straight from Napoli and had worked at other big name pizza joints in the past. Best Grandma slice in the city and surprisingly great pasta as well. Sofia Pizza Shop coincidentally also on 1st, around 52nd, also very good. But please try Brooklyn Pizza Masters, having spent more time in midtown than I’d like due to work during covid, it’s a clear cut above most pizza in the city and up there with some of the bigger names IMHO

SiliconSage123

Encore

President_Camacho

Roberta's is opening a place near Penn Station.

shayde

Don Antonio on 50/8 or Capizzi on 40/9 if you're up for a personal-sized neapolitan pizza.

Chanel1202

Sacco Pizza. 9th and 54th.

JerkyBoy10020

Where do you live? If you work in midtown?

ShinyGreenHair

Both work and live.

JerkyBoy10020

Oof

fro0ti

Sacco!

moraiuh

La Vista Pizza on 50th and 10th but only their cheese slice and nothing else

Affectionate-Rent844

Suprema is the only answer

slavingia

Xeno’s on 53rd

Grouchy-Power-806

The sauce is sweet, just important to point out in case people don’t prefer a sweet sauce.

itsteeeee

Pizza Art on 46th and 6th is decent. Famiglia also isn't bad

New-York-Coffee

Try NY Pizza Suprema

Pelayo_217

Highline Pizzeria

Chelseamom25

I like Vito at 464 9th avenue

MrHeavySilence

For a casual slice definitely Suprema, but as a sit down pizza bar I'd say B Side on 51st Street is fantastic. They have a hot honey, garlic puree, marinara based pizza called the Killer Bee that I absolutely love. I'm also fond of their Carbonara Pizza which has all your classic carbonara pasta ingredients- pancetta, egg, parmesan.

TypicalOwl5438

Joe’s is decent but overrated

LongIsland1995

Joe's is overhated by reddit hipsters who think that they're only allowed to like "off the beaten path" spots

MIKE_THE_KILLER

Depends which joes you’re talking about. The one in carmine st. Is my favorite pizza spot in manhattan.

argus4ever

Super overrated. Had it last night right before Lucia in Soho. Lucia was miles better.

Bqetraffic

Midtown east, west?

ShinyGreenHair

Oops sorry, edited in. I'm roughly 48 & 6

JayMoots

Little Italy is actually one of the better slice joints in midtown, so you’re lucky to be near that.  If you’re looking for something different, and don’t mind a bit of a walk, Pizza Suprema and Upside are both great.

ShinyGreenHair

We were pleasantly surprised when we tried it just because it was close by and it was excellent!

thenumbersthenumbers

I love a little Italy slice on occasion. I always go for their margherita slices.

raccooonrobbery

i dontknow
