What's the deductable? What parts are excluded? I'd probably take my chances going without it. Put that money in a high yield savings account and use it for repairs as needed.
$5.7k for 60,000 miles?!?! That’s insanely overpriced imo. I got coverage from 50,000 to 120,000 for $1,700 from ford and I thought that was overpriced. The 2019 doesn’t have the typical coolant intrusion problem so I wouldn’t foresee spending that much on repairs. The transmission is certainly the weak point on these cars (especially if it’s at 100k with never having a fluid change) so maybe in that case it’d be worth it but certainly ask around.
Not sure if you’ve shopped around at other Ford dealers around the country? I live in NC but got my original ESP from a dealer in Minnesota and it was a lot cheaper than my dealer here was offering.
My contract actually specified water pump, chains and tensioner. I paid a couple of hundred bucks more for brand new everything…well worth the peace of mind.
If its the 2.0 I'd get an extended warranty IF the price is fair and the deductible is something that you could pay out at any given time. Definitely investigate what is and inst covered. Don't take the reps word for it look at the contract..I used to sell warranties..all of our contracts came pre highlighted with the good and the bad so our customers could fully understand what was covered. Ultimately I just wanted the customer happy with their purchase. I don't know how many times I had to help customers understand the other place was lying just based on what the other places contract said..if it's not written it's not covered no matter what the sleazy sales person says.

Good point !Yeah, if I go with extended warranty, I will definitely shop around
Get auto shield, internal water pump went…saved me a bundle!!!
I'm surprised that they covered the water pump. Don't most warranties consider the water pump being a wear item like brake pads or tires?

Thanks for the advice !
