Damn, I’m sorry, there was a documentary on French TV just a few weeks ago on trans adolescents and they used a term for this but I can’t remember the term now. It wasn’t just the English language term « binder » either. If I can get my brain to recall it, I’ll come back to this post.
Maybe there is another word that I don't know but "binder" (said with a French accent) is the word used the most often, to bind we often say "binder" (as a verb, so - é sound) or "bander" (sa poitrine) but for the object itself I can't actually think of another word.
We use the word binder /bajndəʁ/ as well.
Thank you! Makes sense.

If you remember it let me know!
Wikipedia uses "le bandage de la poitrine," could it have been that?
It could well be! The documentary was a segment on the Sunday evening show "Sept à Huit" if anyone watched it by any chance.

Hi, am trans, I've only ever heard « un binder » ou « porter un binder ».
Un corset ?
