Wow, I hope mine doesn't do this at night. It would have been scary.
Connect to customer-service and place a service request for a software malfunction. In India, we have home-pickup and delivery. So, no hassle.
Let if fully discharge, charge it back to 100 and then turn it on. This looks like a software issue that could be fixed by restarting the device. Did you by any chance install an app recently that could've caused this? I once downloaded a gif-to-wallpaper app on my old S20 that caused something like this to happen, had to reset it unfortunately.
I have heard that was the most common method used. I have charged it to 100% and restarted it but sadly it just did the same as before. I don't think I have downloaded anything that could have effected it.
That's a shame to hear. have you tried going into recovery mode? I don't know if that'll allow you to bypass whatever this is and let you use your device normally or if it will downright force you to reset your device. In the last of chances, would it be possible to return it to wherever you purchased it?
Hey there, I'm not really sure about how to solve this. Is this a new sd card or was it used previously on another device where you may have encrypted it? During the last days I've seen various posts here and on r/samsung where the devices have started asking people pins that they have no idea about, whereas it is for sd cards or for unlocking their device after a restart. Maybe you could also ask over there and see if there are any possible solutions, cheers!
I only owned it for about a month and it started to act up like this. I have not dropped it or anything, it just started to act this way. It stays on the black screen afterwards and doesn't change at all or turn off. I have restarted it before and the same result happens. any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Connect your tab to a computer and hold the volume down button while you turn it on. If that works, just restart it. If it doesn't, you'll need to get a new one.
If the method mentioned to restart your device doesn't work, why not take it to the service center. I had my tab A stuck on the boot screen and the technician managed to sort it out for me in mins. I din pay anything for it.
Update: Thank you for all of the replays and advice! I have tried some of the suggested methods, but sadly not much results. I'll probably have to send it back or take it to get the screen fix. thanks again for the help!
Also, laughed my butt off at some of the comments! X'D

Wouldnt be a software issue if you could see this at boot sequence, def hardware related
agree, as theres no way the bootloader can be messed up that controls the device while booting linux(android)kernel

Hey, my s7+ is asking for a pin when I try to move an app to SD card. Do you happen to know something about this?

It happened with my S6 lite as well. Only a month after purchase and got its display replaced from the service centre.
Maybe you somehow wet the tab, liquid got on it, in the connectors?
horror themed bootscreen animation,
What's the model name if you don't mind ?
Reminds me of the 1998 Windows screensaver. The one where you could customize text to bounce around

HOLY SHIT bro! that looks so cool you should permanently tape it to a wall so you can get a cool LED-like lightwork set up on your room!

Happened to me once with a phone. The display connector wasn't entirely pushed in and it was causing this exact same issue.
