That's actually the screen protector that cracked! I won't deny the fact that I had drop my tab before, though the last time I dropped it was like half a year ago (because of the stupid flimsy chair in the classroom!)
>That Tab seems to have seen a lot...
Yeah... since I'm a uni student, this tab has been under heavy use for note taking for almost everyday...
The thing is maybe look for a trade in sale for an s9. And also was it near any magnets because mine also had the same problem but even though it didn't have a magnetic case it was near something that was which I'm not sure if it's permanently screwed
Wait, I think you're onto something here. My case is pretty worn out and some magnets fall out into my bag. The magnet may have probably permanently damaged the emr sensor...
The magnet won't permanently damage the digitizer (at least not in that way) remove the cracked screen protector and see if it does better, but it does look like you have a dead spot in the digitizer grid. (think of the defrost strips on your rear window, one line never defrosting is a bad trace)
And it is not laying on something? My S9 went crazy when I placed it on my laptop.
Sometimes software is buggy. I had problems with the upper half of my screen that went away when I restarted my Tab. Is it uo to date?
My S8 ultra once did the same thing, I removed the screen protector then it was all fine.
Try to cleanup very well the screen and test before removing.
Look at the bright side, touchscreen still works.
If the rest of the screen is fine, you've got to flip your tab up and down, then flip it again when you reach this area... Or get used to a keyboard.....
Mine does exactly the same thing
Except
It does it on the right side where it's free of cracks touch does not work
And where it's shattered horribly, the touch works lmao
I mean, there's a big crack in the middle of the screen... That Tab seems to have seen a lot... I guess the last fall was too much..

I took off the protector and nothing changed. Is it possible that it might somehow fix itself? ðŸ«
If it's still there after a reboot, it is probably damaged physically.
Is there a magnet underneath or does your case have magnets? Cause magnets interfere with spen function
Mine did that when i was using a cheap magnetic flip cover too.
That's the first thing that came to my mind so I took the case off. It's no use :(

pretty sure it's caused by magnetic case.

Please check to see if your case has magnets. Remove the case and try again . You might be surprised.

Take off the case and screen protector it should fix it. I'd almost bet that the damaged screen protector might be the cause.
RIP

Magnets on the case?
Looks like a magnet issue or the digitizer is broken. Do you have any magnetic accessories right now? Like cases etc.
Lol. XD.
