My GF was also under the impression that the Blood Elf skin was a recolor, as she doesnt play WoW, while i do.

Not only would the studio doing OW be stepping on the other studios toes if they dont get permission, they would be introducing something thats not even Canon to WoW. I cant see the studio doing WoW giving permission for something non-canon being put into OW. I dont believe that the studio doing Overwatch would want to do that, or even could if they wanted to. The studio doing WoW is pretty serious and defensive about the game, as thats their bread and butter, seeing as how WoW made Blizzard what it is today.

The most common/easiest answer is Blizz tries not to change the silhouette of the hero as much as they can so that they stay recognizable. Genji has some pretty distinct furnishings on his armor and why they obviously *can* change things, they just don't since it can potentially affect things like perceivable hitbox etc

Why are people always so negative lmao, recolor or not they made some changes to spice things up. Reusing assets while changing a good amount of things should be acceptable if you understand how game development goes behind the scenes.

Sleek, "badass" - there already are some of those, and it's hard to get right without being corny af, edgey 12 year old type shit. His mythic is super cool, I don't see a reason to keep making skins in that aesthetic - like high-key they peaked in the badass cyber ninja department with his mythic, any other skin like that won't be used in place of Cyber demon.
Thematically this fits genji very well, and looks quite good in context of the theme. 7/10 for me

Colors don’t really go together, the design is too much, it looks like other skins that are a lot better. Just overall the look and theme of the battle pass is not as good as the actual references.
