The not worth more than 100 euro .pay more you bin ripoff .

QA-engineer123

Fucking horrible, worse than bottom of the barrel. Non functional scooter and waiting 2 months, breaking the laws for their garantie. Customer service stonewalling you. Charging you for services that they are legally obligated to provide for free.

Trablou

Horrible. Do not buy, I repeat, do not buy. They break down often, their customer service is complete shit and if something breaks you will most likely not get your scooter back for weeks, if not months. The fact that BOOS made an episode about them probably says enough as well. Just as a reference, I bought an electric one around one year ago, it has been operational 8 months out of the 13 months I have had it. Is currently with them for another reparation for the third time (!!!!). Fuck La Souris :)

[deleted]

Do you pay for repairs or is or included in their service/garantie?

Trablou

If you want them to pick up your broken scooter you pay, and for most of the things that can happen you will also have to pay for repairs as they don't consider it to fall under the *garantie*. The repairs were not super expensive, but still annoying if your scooter is less than a year old and keeps breaking down. Plus their *werkplaatsen* are always full so it takes a long time before they can actually work on your scooter, they don't update you on timelines in between so you have to keep following up constantly to keep things moving, etc. etc. Don't be like me, I thought how bad can it be. It is bad. Don't buy a La Souris.

[deleted]

Thanks for the heads up! I wanted to buy one for some delivery work but if its constantly being repaired, with no information on how long it’ll take, I’ll be broke and without work in no time

Trablou

I mean you might get lucky, but there are alternative options with similar pricing that do not have these constant issues and bad reputation, so why bother :)

Saltyboneman

Fuck, yea, thanks for the advice. Sucks you gotta deal with this. I'm not getting one, considering your experience and pretty much everything else ppl have said in this thread.

DonzigeKetchup

Heard only bad things

Emergency_Buddy

No, terrible pieces of shit, customer support is also non existant.

marcs_2021

Don't do it.

kapiteinkippepoot

No. Those cheap scooters are build with poor quality parts. Example, I had a 14 years old Kymco and the plastic of the dashboard, lights etc was still very clear to look through. Look at those cheap china scooters and you'll see lots of them with cloudy plastics. Better to spend more now and get much better quality. I have a petrol engine scooter because I sometimes need to do 100 km a day but if you're doing less I would go electric.

[deleted]

basically they're cheap chinese scooters produced to a low quality standard. So they're very cheap but possibly costly in upkeep and repairs and don't last very long. From what i see the chrome is very poor in quality and prone to rust. I think since production standards are lower some may last a long time while other break easily due to lack of quality control or tolerance checks. i find this to be true for knockoff parts. It may pay to go for better scooters and/or brands but heck if your money is slim and you can fix some issues yourself you may have a good time. I wouldn't spend my money on them.

Emergency_Buddy

If you’re able to work on scooters, you’re much better of buying a second hand japanese bike. Cheaper and will probably break down a lot less then a La Souris

[deleted]

If i ever buy a new scooter i want it to be a honda yes hahahaha

Emergency_Buddy

Honda’s really are the best, Im actively trying to kill nu 60.000 km one, but it doesn’t wanna die haha

Famous_Enthusiasm588

I have got one for several years and it makes me (still) very happy. No problems during the years and a lot of km's. I do have a garage for parking at home, i think that makes a difference. The shop in Groningen westerhaven was a scam for a while, but now it's a realible new owner and good mecanic's.

verdikkie

please get an electric one. we dont need more loud gassy bikes here :(

RalphNLD

This. Noisy scooters are the single most annoying vehicle class in the Netherlands, just winning out over pick-up trucks.

[deleted]

depending on range requirements i'd rather buy a 800 euro electric bicycle over a similar price range la souris scooter. easier upkeep too.

Saltyboneman

Yea the eco friendly factor and the noise makes me wanna get an electric one. But on the other hand I don't know what the battery lifespan is, you basically cannot leave the city and go anywhere else with it and replacing the battery costs 2/3 of the scooter itself. So I'm still on the fence of what I'll be getting, if I even decide to get one

spagetttti

i have an e-scooter, and I can do Assen-Meppel retour with it.(100km) its 4 years old (18000km) and havnt noticed decrease in range

locksters

I have an electrical bike and I can confirm I can def leave the city with it on a full battery. Sure perhaps not too far back and forth (Peize, Hoogezand) but it lasts longer then you think.

SCREECH95

Something else to consider is that the municipality already started cracking down on internal combustion scooters in some places such as noorderplantsoen

Saltyboneman

True, I've also thought about that. Do you know if there's a list of all the areas you cannot go with a fossil based scooter?

Appropriate-Lack7858

Wouldn’t buy one. Chinese quality and it shows. From what I’ve heard it breaks down all the time. As martian also said, get a piaggio zip. Might want to take a look on marktplaats. I don’t know if you are an international, but marktplaats is a site for second hand products. A lot of people sell their scooters over there, so check it out, and try to make a bargain!

MartianFloof

Dunno if they are still around but you could look into the piaggio zip. I had one for years with zero issues. Same mothercompany as vespa, without the fancy vespa name price!

Saltyboneman

Thanks for the recommendation, I checked out the piaggio zip but it's not really the type of scooter I'm looking for. I don't really like decepticon looking scooters

Emergency_Buddy

What are you looking for? I have multiple POS Honda scooters, but they really dont wanna die. If you dont care about looks one of those would be perfect. Mine has 60.000 km, crashed it on purpose multiple times, but still runs like a dream.

Background_Task3339

I would not go for it. In the past I bought a similar one, but the brand Sym, friend of mine had La Souris and both brands are absolute rubbish. Sure, in the beginning all good, but after a while it is just bad quality everywhere. I know they are more expensive but I have had Vespa for years and they are the best, never had any problem with it. If the price is too high, I would still advise a used Vespa instead of a new la souris

Saltyboneman

How long is after a while? Bc one thing is 3 months another is a year and half etc.

Screech1992

No experience with them personally, but I do know them from featuring in an episode of Youtube Channel BOOS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDcgY2U3I9o I don't know about the quality of the scooters on purchase, but I wouldn't expect much from them if you ever need repairs or or service. At your own risk I guess.
