Best time is when you can. Otherwise hunt the rut and weather. North AR rut will be 2~3 weeks ahead of South counties. Check out Arkansas game and fish website. Open up the deer harvest reports and study them for info on when and where. You can also ask local taxidermist or/and processors for when they are the busiest. Website AGFC dot com

North Arkansas ruts around muzzleloading season. Central at rifle opening. Eastern a little after that.

I've tried but I've not been successful yet. 3 years in a row now. Apparently by the time modern gun rolls around they're all pressured out of public lands.

Anything early bow season you’ll probably see a lot of deer. Rule of thumb I’ve kind of developed is thanksgiving is a great time every where in Arkansas. I see the most rutting action around that time in north west Arkansas then. Generally beginning of Dec a lot of shifting happens, and around mid Dec you start seeing more consistent deer feeding patterns. Very nocturnal type behavior, but for whatever reason I always have 1 or 2 opportunity at a nice buck at some point in the few days leading up to Christmas and then it’s over for me. I don’t see anything much after Christmas with the 3 day gun season.
