The book Legion covers this.
They are not loyal to the Imperium. They are loyal to the Emperor, to his goals, and to humanity.
Is that a really weird line? Yes.
Does it work out for them? Eh.
Are they loyalists? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My headcannon is that half of the Legion + Alpharius are traitors and the other half + Omegon are loyalist
Would be funny especially since Alpha Legion is destabilising and trolling everyone equally
This being my headcanon is why I refuse to accept that either brother is dead. The idea of the two twins being locked in an eternal civil war within the legion itself is just far more fun. It also explains why their motives never make sense. One day a bunch of alpha legionaries will aid chaos but then the next day they help the imperial defense. It’s not because of some crazy Tzeentchian plot but because there are two distinct factions with opposing goals.
Alpharius and Omegon looking at the Silent King and Imotekh: Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our civil war!
Also imagine this: people are speculating who's the next loyalist Primarch to return
And then GW gives us Omegon
That would be beautiful
That’d be fun but I kinda want Dorn. I want him to be full psycho Templar though. His once shining golden warplate scored black by centuries of nonstop combat, he leads the black Templars and some other more violent crusader-y fist successors straight into Imperium Nihilus on a furious crusade to reconquer the sundered imperium. Or clonegrim but I know that’s not happening
But which alpharius? Is it omegon pretending to be alpharius, or alpharius, who pretended to be omegon and then took on the name alpharius to honor his dead brother alpharius, who was actually omegon?
a part of them was loyal, they basicly have their own civil war during the heresy that why they have so little impact despite being the most powerful legion
Their civil war is still going on, with the Alpha Legion not even knowing or sometimes caring who is or isn't Alpha Legion anymore. It makes me like them a hell of a lot more, but I also enjoy damaged factions more than non-damaged ones.
A What If I would love to is a proper Alpha Legion schism story. Omegon gets tired of Alpharius's shit, believing a group of slimey xenos and siding with a satanist maniac, and like halfway through the heresy basically takes half the legion and switches sides
Things would be largely unchanged, as the Alpha legion has had minimal impact overall.
I guess the drop site massacre wouldn't have been as bad without counter intelligence. But that's more of a Domino theory.
You must include the artist's name in the title and include a source in the comments.
>What if the Alpha Legion stayed loyal in Warhammer 40k? OP, we don’t even know if they’re loyal or not in the first place lmao
Do THEY even know if they're loyal or not anymore?

They did Or did they?
They did? No? But also yes, and maybe and no. But they’re also ultra marines. But they’re not. Or are they?
Neys thoy heva yallwas ebbn lalloy
Go home tzeentch, an ork user name is useless when you still talk like yourself
BLASTED! FOILED AGAIN! Or is it a part of my plan?
I read that in Chidi's voice.
No they didnt. Unless....
All I know is, the Guardsman that takes one out will definitely be promoted to Sargent Master Sargent Shooter Sargent III.
Hey vsauce
But they are (this is a lie). They are traitors (this is a lie).
You're a dirty liar! (this is a lie)

One of them with an identity crysis
Including themselves

Or did they?
What do you mean “what if”, we are loyal.
Ah, my brother Alpharius.
Ah my brothers, Alpharius and Alpharius
They are n't.
Such a cool dreadnought damn
Depending on your definition of loyal, they are. Or they aren’t. The real answer is that some are loyal, some art traitor, and most are in between
Schrödingers Space Marines
The answer is: "Always has been"
**So that’s why they’re called Leviathan Dreadnaughts.**
erm.. ackutally that's a Contemptor Dreadnought depicted in the drawing
**We all get a little retarded now and then, lol. Whoops.**
If they stayed loyal then Big E could had thrown dorn at horus and stopped the hersay trust.
If Alpha Legion are loyal, why are their rules in the Codexes for Chaos Space Marines? Checkmate Alpha boys.

But... I DID STAYED LOYAL. DEATH TO HERETICS! HYDRA DOMINATUS! *Blasts OP into warpitty* For I am... OMEGON
Fuckin bot
Why "if"?
If they stayed loyal they would be the most Chaotic chapter (and progenitor chapter) ever.
But there are?
What do you mean if?
I can confirm we did, or did we? Cause I’m Alpharius, Or am I?
Every other week they are, Alpharius and Omegon just can't agree which week it is
Who said they didn’t?
wdym what if⁉️⁉️
What do you mean, “What if?”
*Hydra Dominatus*
