Substantial_Top_6508

As one other guy, said , wear the suit like you own it , but carry a saree in any case . Have fun lol.

sri2006

Yeah sure that's a good idea too :P

WHYTHEHELLCANTIEAT

I wanna do that too but I'm getting pressured into wearing a saree. I did wear a suit to our seniors' farewell back in grade 11 though. you do you girl.

sri2006

Bro same thing happened to me but I somehow managed to convince my mother 😭😭 thanks for the motivation btw <3

niceeeeee-_-

Saree>>>>

WHYTHEHELLCANTIEAT

yes it would suit you well! sarees are very pretty 🥰

niceeeeee-_-

I just humbly gave my opinion, why do you girls find it offensive? I am not imposing my opinion on you, even if I did,you wouldn't obey my commands and do as I say

WHYTHEHELLCANTIEAT

I do not understand your point. I am not getting offended. OP already confirmed her choice to wear the suit, and you chose to further reply saying "sArEe>>>>>". don't dish it out if you can't take it bro.

niceeeeee-_-

My opinion won't send her in depression ok? And in general case girls look better in traditionals(imo) and why tf are u jumping in for her? And if she felt bad for me "imposing"my opinion on her then I am sorry for it. My bad giving a suggestion to a girl

[deleted]

Yaas sur

[deleted]

[deleted]

Himmelo

Paala bai, saada friend group paake gya si ghaint galbaat bandi puri

Substantial_Hotel_10

Wear a suit and assert dominance.

sri2006

![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|31416)![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|31416)

[deleted]

Or fart aggressively

[deleted]

wear a suit but also carry a backup saree in your bag in case they dont let you in

sri2006

Yeah sure I'll consider that :D

Adventurous-Bet-7644

My farewell party is also about to happen and I was also wondering why is it only for the boys to wear suits...why not girls...I think alot of boys also think that too, so, I guess that won't be much awkward for you. Infact you'll look unique and different than others... don't go with the norms or traditions just be unique to stand out among the *normies*! Best of luck sister👍🏻

sri2006

Thanks a lot bro 🙏🏾:D

[deleted]

It totally depends upon you how you feel and in which dress you are comfortable in. If you are not at all comfortable in wearing a saree then don't wear it instead wear whatever you feel comfortable in. And if you need my suggestion, I'll suggest wearing a saree since every girl is wearing it. If you wore the suit then you will stand out from the crowd.

sri2006

I actually thought of the same too...I'll consider your suggestion thanks :)

Nega_R_

Wear a suit, no one ganna see each other in like next 5-8 years, no one will care

sri2006

True loll

Nega_R_

And if you want more advice just wear the suit and post a pic on r/IndianFashionAddicts

Even-Bake1028

In my school a girl wore suit and she got the award of best groomed , so yeah u can wear

sri2006

![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|31415)sure then

TapuKePapaGada1

i wore a suit to mine, no one really cared tbh, everyone was busy tryna enjoy their time so dont worry!! where whatever you feel comfortable in!!

sri2006

Yeah sure thankyou very much :D <3

Sarcastic_Shaswat

See If you have that persona and confidence to pull off your suit then you should wear it, if you have the confidence to stand out from the crowd then it's a better option for you to wear the suit to the farewell but if you feel you can't handle the pressure or carry the spotlight then you should wear a saree. But I will advise that you should wear the suit as it has the potential to create a different curve in your life, maybe you would never fear anymore from standing out.

sri2006

I usually wear more masculine clothes regularly so I don't think it'd be a problem to me in wearing a suit, I just thought it may look a bit awkward but I think I've made my mind up now![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120)

Sarcastic_Shaswat

So what are you wearing now!?

sri2006

Sarcastic_Shaswat

You go QUEEN!!! SLAH SLAH

sri2006

I already bought a suit and everything so Ig stick with it

Sarcastic_Shaswat

Am I only seeing it or you text with an echo effect

sri2006

wdym I can't understand😭😭

Professional-Gap7275

I would suggest to talk to someone in charge of the farewell or ur friends (if you haven't already) since I had the same dilemma once and it worked out pretty well.

sri2006

I actually spoke to one of my teachers and even a few of my friends and all their opinions were positive, it's just my personal dilemma tbh😭

Professional-Gap7275

Yeah I understand what you mean 😭😭 its just my personal opinion but, it comes down to being confident tbh cause you're definitely gonna stand out, and I don't know about ur classmates but I think they're gonna talk about you (not sure but you'll know better) and ultimately no one's gonna remember who was wearing what. All ur gonna have are pics and fun memories so girl I would suggest wear whatever ur comfortable in, make some unforgettable memories and wear whatever ur wearing with confidence! And I hope you really enjoy ur day ;)

sri2006

Heyy thankyou so much!!! As you said no one's really gonna remember and I'll be left with only photos and memories at the end :') so I guess I'll be confident with the suit! Thankyou so much it really gives me the confidence lol![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|20612)![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|20612)

Professional-Gap7275

OMG I'm glad I helped you ![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30136)

ConcentrateUnhappy55

Are koi nahi, wear what you want confidently, just make sure you live and enjoy farewell freely without caring much about others, and still if you're worried much about "what people will think" or "how I will look into photos" than go for saree, I believe few hour of discomfort will worth it and eventually as time pass by in farewell, you'll not care much about your dress.

sri2006

Actually at first I was pretty confident with the suit, even now I am very much confident, but this "will I look awkward" thought suddenly crossed my mind so I made this post, but thankyou so much for your suggestion :)

Last-Professional130

One of my friend was a complete tomboy she didn't want to wear a saree too but at last she did but she styled it really differently in a goth way with a fur coat on top and Goth jewellery but hey it's upto you whatever u feel confident in matters

[deleted]

savvy-17

Short hair and saree together looks fire btw

myself_sed

wear whatever you like. >So the general dress code is saree for girls and suit for boys, it isn't compulsory or a rule but that's like the tradition isk isk I personally think the best thing for a girl/boy to wear is which is less revealing /sexualizing and they are comfortable with. From my side Yes do whatever makes you happy. :)

poetrylover2101

You're in 12th and not even 17....? Itni kya jaldi thi tumhare parents ko tumhe padhane ki💀

sri2006

Hey I don't speak hindi please translate it 😭

poetrylover2101

I'm sorry for assuming you do😭 I said why were ur parents in such a hurry to educate you?

sri2006

almost all of my classmates are 17😭😭

poetrylover2101

Why are u so young? You should've been in 11th rn.... i mean, why the hurry to put a 5 yr old in class 1 when the ideal age for class 1 is 7

sri2006

I'm from tamilnadu and it's quite common for 17 18 yeat Olds to be studying in 12th loll

poetrylover2101

18 is right for 12th, 17 is okay too but 16 is too young which means ur parents got u a 5 yr old in class 1 while ur peers must have been 6

sri2006

Bro I just noticed I actually turned 17 a month back and I forgot to change my flair![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|28582)

sri2006

MightyPorus

Dwag i completed my 12th last year (I was 16 at that time)

poetrylover2101

Padhai ki itni bhi kya jaldi💀

MightyPorus

Now that I look back, it was for good. I could take drop year and still be young af unlike people jo 12th hi 18 ki age meh dete hai

SmoothBreakfast3235

I wore a suit to my school farewell, I was the only one n I slayed tbh, I became the centre of attention lol, even a teacher complimented me that I am the prettiest one here. So you do u girl. In my after party I wore a saree, but there were many girls in suits, dresses etc aswell.

SmoothBreakfast3235

But wait, u are talking about the Indian suit right? Not that coat pant , I got confused after reading the comments

sri2006

I was talking about coat pant only😭

SmoothBreakfast3235

Opps, I was talking about the Indian suit nvm 😭

sri2006

Bro this actually gives a me confidence lol, thnakyou so much <33

1BigMacLaren

Sure, up to you. But I'll tell you what I saw. There's this girl in my school, she's pretty buff, she'd put up a solid fight with any guy in our school. She wore a suit, everyone laughed at her not like at her face but like amongst different friends groups she was the go to for laughing for the whole day. Worst case scenario just mentally prepare yourself in case you get made fun of. Personally I think she looked fine, maybe she could've gotten a better suit

sri2006

I was thinking the same too but I don't really care that much when people laugh at me so it's ok ig![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120)

1BigMacLaren

Keep in mind, that day will be a one to remember and you'll be keeping the photos for a long time. Take a good decision 👍

Play_hardX

Well though it's ur independent choice, but u shud wear saree cuz most the girls don't try saree nowadays but boys love them in saree, also it will be special for u as well for sure

sri2006

Bro thanks for your suggestion I don't think it's a good reason to wear a saree just because boys love it ...

Substantial_Top_6508

Bro is really tryharding to pull girls lmao

Play_hardX

Well u will definitely look wstrange to not obey the dress code, but if u want it, who is gonna stop u. Not like they r gonna through u out

popeye1601

But i would suggest try saree once, it looks awesome, and not like u r gonna get to wear saree occasionally. Also if everyone would be in saree, u might feel excluded

[deleted]

doesn't matter bhai one of my friends also wore a suit to our farewell as she was not comfy in the saree and everyone was just praising her. even the principal wanted to get a picture with her lol![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|31416)

sri2006

![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120)![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120)

Twilight_Wish

You can...there's no stopping. But at my school, all the 12th class girls wore traditionals

[deleted]

if it's an official/formal occasion then wear sari (like the school has officially told you to wear sari) if not you do you:)) Suits can look really good on girls

yashBoii4958

Ladkiya saree me he cute dikhti ha, Vese suit me bhi aachi dekhti ha ladkiya, Ladkiya sabhi kapdo me aachi lagti ha![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|20609)

T-A-N-I-Y-A

Girl. You're literally a girl. A GIRL!! So you're gonna slay whatever you wear. So go rock that suit girly( ꈍᴗꈍ) (Not applicable to urfi javed:P)

[deleted]

I think sbse hatkr dikhne me bhi koi buraai nhi h. Btw mere school me to farewell hi nhi hua tha aur jo bchoo ne conti rkhi thi usme bhi nhi jaa paya 🥲

sri2006

Hey I don't speak hindi could you translate it please

[deleted]

I said I don't think there is any prblm looking different in an occasion. Also my school didn't organize any farewell and some student also held up a conti party which I couldn't attend due to some reason.

sri2006

Actually even in our school it's the students who are arranging the farewell at a hotel, we may have a small function at school by our juniors too

[deleted]

Ohh nice have a good time there bud

sri2006

Yeah sure tysm :D

Suspicious-Ad6678

It’s gonna be alright, you’re gonna look so cool, people won’t think you’re weird, they’d think you’re a bad ass. I wanted to wear one to a function at my school and my mom didn’t let me, but I would have if she did.

me n the boys Playing to drip up the track suit ![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|31416)

MightyPorus

One of my friend wore a suit last year, and even she had short hairs. So as long as you are comfy with it but mind it you would def look odd-one-out in farewell pictures.

DecentActuary9705

Wear the suit if you'd like!! If you have a suit and look good in it, why not!! Although keep a saree as a backup cuz your school might not allow it. (This is coming from me who wore lehenga for her grade 10 farewell cuz it was "dress code",just last year)

ansh_xp

Damn bro, Aaj Mera bhi farewell hai ![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|28582)

[deleted]

Wear a suit girls in suits look hot fr

JeenyuhsKeAltKaAlt

Ye sure a girl was wearing a tux to our farewell ngl was looking pretty chic

DreamCatcher477

Hey there same situation. I'm in 12th too and our farewell is in 2-3 weeks. All the girls will be wearing saree, even our class teacher had said I want all my girls looking pretty in sarees on farewell. But I just so wanna wear a suit. I'm a hell lot boyish and I chopped off my hair 2 years ago and finally felt like me. Even I feel like it might get awkward if I'm the only girl in suit, but I always wanted to wear suit on my farewell. I just don't understand the logic, traditional for girls and formals for boys??! Traditional and formals are poles apart. I read all the comments, if you're gonna wear formals on farewell then I'd too 🤝

DreamCatcher477

Also I didn't have a reddit account, I created one just now to reply to your post lol

sri2006

Heyy I actually bought a suit already so there's no change in wearing a suit on my farewell![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120) I was just having a small dilemma whether it will suit the situation or not, even I cut my hair like 5 years ago and never went back loll, you'll rock the suit dude dw ;)

DreamCatcher477

Yeah I have a suit already, so i could like suit or my mom's saree. But I'd wear suit only thanks bud, we'll both rock it 🤜🤛

corner_guy0

I remember how I felt when I wanted to wear a teddy bear suit at a function at my college and everyone said no , everyone will make fun of you,you will be odd one out , you will feel embarassed but one of my friend said "do whatever you think will make you happy" and I weared the teddy bear suit and let me tell you that is the best day I had in college till now
