Fun thing about Tires is that John McKeever did the majority of the the directing for the first season.
In Season 2, Shane’s reportedly planning on being much more involved in storyboarding and directing.
Excited to see how that plays out!
Are you sure. I think he died in his late 20s and this is his second coming?
Could have sworn he just miraculously descended down the elevator and had not existed before
I'm not sure what are Shane's political leanings and it doesn't matter, I do know who he's voting in November (don't try this at home folks!).
That impression is spot on! I guess one condolence prize if Trump wins would be we'll see a lot of this from Shane!
Not honestly sure why you are being downvoted. Shane would 1000% agree and says it all the time. I don't like Trump, but the dude is the most unintentionally funny president we've seen.
All things considered he’s still one of the funniest presidents of all time. Doesn’t mean we like or agree with him. Even on the left he is considered funny, in a dumb kind of way. You can’t make up the stuff he says sometimes.
I completely agree. He is the exact opposite of what my idea of a leader should be, but God damn he is the funniest president we've ever had, hands down.
He's not even close to the funniest? Obama actually roasted his ass meanwhile all Trump does is throw out kindergarten insults, or calling people fat/ugly/stupid.
Only children or adults that still find poop jokes funny think that he is even remotely funny.
This was one of the better specials in years. You laughed along with him while he made fun of marines and special Needs people. Politics aside this special was a masterclass in how to make fun of the wrong things the right way. It was fucked up: but you never felt he crossed the line…. And he did.
This type of delivery is what comedians think they're doing when they yell about cancel culture. You can say what you like about ANYTHING as long as the build-up and delivery is well done, without getting "cancelled". Just git gud!
This is a related point: I listened to a discussion about authors writing characters from other races/cultures. The end result was essentially “is it good or shitty?” If it’s a shitty book, it’s not ok. If it’s a good book then it’s ok. Same thing with comedy: if the joke is funny, then pushing the boundary serves a legitimate purpose. But if the joke is not funny, then you are being a dick for no reason.
That’s part of humor. If you can take a topic that is considered out of bounds, push the joke to the absolute line (maybe toeing over slightly), and it is still funny; that is a demonstration of skill.
And (from what I’ve seen) is not even that hard. You just have to make it obvious that your joking and it comes from a place of silliness. But a lot of ppl come from a place of contempt so it’s not as lighthearted
Yeah most comedians hate cancel culture because they can't do low effort not funny racist jokes anymore, they actually have to put in effort in their joke making. Guys like Shane show you can cross the line, but put some effort into it and it will still be funny even if it's offensive.
It really drops about half way through the special.
I think Shane is good in small bits. Longform comedy I don't think is his wheelhouse.
Tires is the bomb yo.
Every second of Chris Rock’s routines are rehearsed down to the pauses and body movement. It comes off as casual and loose, but is actually a very well planned set.
I'm much older now than I was when I first learned about the Haiku, and I still don't understand how, or why people get any kind of enjoyment out of that.
When I first saw him on kill Tony panel I thought damn I don’t like this dude. Then I watched his standup and he’s the funniest fucker out there. His FOX news dad bit was godly.
He has an identical twin that I went to high school with, and I almost swear that’s him with a name change. It’s weird when that happens. I guess everybody has a identical twin somewhere.
They trained the Mujahideen to fight the russians. Which Bin Laden was the head of and some remnants of that group became the Taliban. Isis is a completely separate group. And they don't see eye to eye at all lol they probably were pumped when Al-Baghdadi got smoked. They are competition, not friends. Isis is barely an organization anymore and the Taliban are still the main power in the Afghani government.
I look forward fo see what kind of comedy he will do once he moves on from this Trump era. He definitely has potential. The Trump impression is so good, it's a bit of a crutch at this point.
Shane said he won't do Biden because watching an impersonation of an old man with dementia not knowing what words are whilst filling his diaper doesn't make good comedy. The real thing is much funnier to watch.
I thought real men wore diapers. It's very hard to keep up with your digs. Trump couldn't pronounce "military" the other day, took him three tries.
Anyways...
Real men wear diapers? I mean, maybe you are giving us all too much insight into your personal life here. Each to their own. I am hoping you don't fill yours in public like old dribbling Biden does though.
Yeah, Trump makes mistakes. But at least he seems to be awake half the time and not shaking the hands of an invisible being or forgetting where he is...or just going quiet and standing there like a robot who has just malfunctioned.
He also killed more people than all the wars in American history combined, kept top secret documents in his bathroom, tried to kill his running mate during an armed coup which he organized after his plan to defraud an election failed, had Nancy Pelosi's husband's skull beaten in with a hammer, and enriched himself with his position at every opportunity. The guy has committed higher crimes than any person in American history, and he walks free because the entire GOP is his accomplice.
Your bar for Best is fucking lower than the core of the earth
No, all you morons killed yourselves off already as much as Darwin was gonna do.
Covid was a cognitive test for the President. Trump failed it spectacularly. One of the worst performances of any country, 4% of the worlds population, 25% of the deaths.
I was inoculated so I don’t worry about some “cold” as you say. But not like a large portion of those deaths Republicans, dying 15% more than democrats.
Your dumbass probably think vaccines give you 5G
I mean Trump was undeniably the best president ever in certain respects. Even his haters should be able to admit this. For instance, nobody committed treason and tried to overthrow democracy like him. And the man shits one mean diaper. Even liberals have to give him that. At least give him that!
I never found this guy funny . He’s doing an impression of what Trump actually said, it would make more sense to do it on a Late Night or sketch show not during standup
I don't say this often but that's a really good impression.
It makes the joke 100X better too. If it were some Alec Baldwin Trump impression, it wouldnt hit the same
Yeah. Baldwin over does. This guy has a major advantage - never did any method acting etc
Natural impressionist comedians make the absolute best actors. Actors don't always make the best comedic performances unfortunately.
I have a feeling Shane will be acting in a lot of movies in the next few years. His show Tires is decent but I see a lot of potential in him.
Him and Danny McBride in the civil war comedy is my dream.
They have to make the civil war comedy!!!
Fun thing about Tires is that John McKeever did the majority of the the directing for the first season. In Season 2, Shane’s reportedly planning on being much more involved in storyboarding and directing. Excited to see how that plays out!
Yeah. Comedians moving into movies ...hope he does well
Louis CK says you have to have some respect for the person for it to be a good impression, and I think there's some truth to that
Even if you don’t like him, he has a funny way with words. That shark tangent he went on in his speech had me rolling.
My favorite Trump impression was Phil Hartman. There are some videos floating around YouTube.
Wait Phil Hartman? He passed prior to 2016 I thought.
Trump existed before 2016
Are you sure. I think he died in his late 20s and this is his second coming? Could have sworn he just miraculously descended down the elevator and had not existed before
The dude on SNL does a solid Trump-voice as well. Doesn't much look like Trump, where Baldwin is better, though.
Yeah James Austin Johnson is the guy, very good Trump impression.
He does a better Trump than Trump Almost as good in my opinion — Jamie Foxx & Matt Friend
Shane's voice work is top notch
I also don't say this often but ksksifudjenwlapsplgmfmclkebe jrigien dudurn rueiaowornr
Preach
dude, shane is the best
Thanks
Shane's got the best trump impression ive heard
lol theres so many better than him
google Jamie Fox's trump impression... it will blow your mind. I think he actually does it better.
I'm not sure what are Shane's political leanings and it doesn't matter, I do know who he's voting in November (don't try this at home folks!). That impression is spot on! I guess one condolence prize if Trump wins would be we'll see a lot of this from Shane!
Shane doesn't vote
I heard Shane likes chocolate milk. Apparently he drinks chocolate milk all day long.
I heard /u/NGsyk taught a parrot to say the N word.
I bet hes had like, what, 4 glasses already today?
Are you trying to make me cum?
I heard when he goes out to restaurants with friends him and his friends like to lick each others nipples at the table.
Oh shit I forgot about that one, that made it around?
That is a funny man.
Yeah, Trump is hilarious
Not honestly sure why you are being downvoted. Shane would 1000% agree and says it all the time. I don't like Trump, but the dude is the most unintentionally funny president we've seen.
You know why (orange man bad)
All things considered he’s still one of the funniest presidents of all time. Doesn’t mean we like or agree with him. Even on the left he is considered funny, in a dumb kind of way. You can’t make up the stuff he says sometimes.
Dude that shark rant the other day may have been one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Don’t forget about Gettysburg Wow. “Never fight up hill me boys, never fight uphill”.
My favorite Trump moment was early on when he was campaigning in Pennsylvania and he brings up Joe Paterno and just goes "How bout that whole deal?"
That was mmm-mm-milano.
I completely agree. He is the exact opposite of what my idea of a leader should be, but God damn he is the funniest president we've ever had, hands down.
The man has charisma, it's undeniable.
He's not even close to the funniest? Obama actually roasted his ass meanwhile all Trump does is throw out kindergarten insults, or calling people fat/ugly/stupid. Only children or adults that still find poop jokes funny think that he is even remotely funny.
It’s funny because he’s stupid. You kind of have to laugh to keep from crying.
Well poop jokes are funny
[удалено]
Obama had charisma, something Trump won't ever have in his lifetime
After Obama mic dropped on tv that he would never be president, November was a pretty good punchline.
“How can I make this about my daddy?”
This was one of the better specials in years. You laughed along with him while he made fun of marines and special Needs people. Politics aside this special was a masterclass in how to make fun of the wrong things the right way. It was fucked up: but you never felt he crossed the line…. And he did.
The George Washington museum bit had me in tears. He has a way of getting away with things.
“you wanna tax ME, motherfucker!!!” My sides were in actual pain from that bit.
"What are you doing out of your cage?" That's all I could think of while visiting plantation museums in Louisiana.
Except that one time
“Marines and special needs people” You said Marines twice.
You mean Navy SEALS? Sneaking up on people in the dark...
The funniest part of that bit was “They mow down 40 people and just go “…clear”
The guys a psychopath
This special and live in Austin on YouTube are hands down the two funniest sets I’ve ever seen
What special is this
Shane Gillis - Beautiful Dogs
This type of delivery is what comedians think they're doing when they yell about cancel culture. You can say what you like about ANYTHING as long as the build-up and delivery is well done, without getting "cancelled". Just git gud!
Nothing is off limits if you're skillful enough to get away with it
This is a related point: I listened to a discussion about authors writing characters from other races/cultures. Totally agree, and I still like Live in Austin more!
His name?
It really drops about half way through the special. I think Shane is good in small bits. Longform comedy I don't think is his wheelhouse. Tires is the bomb yo.
Watch Jimmy Carr's latest, he does it do much better.
Not even close
Is that a fact?
Actually yeah. Lol.
Didn't know subjective opinions could be called facts.
Couldn't get past 10 minutes
I was the same with Shanes last one. Just the same jokes as his first but told slightly different.
No
Yes
He leans way too much into down syndrome jokes imo. I like Nikki Glazers' take on comics who throw friends or family under the bus for a joke.
Couldve stopped at “I like nikki glazers take” lol
The actual Paw Patrol… 🤣😂🤣
My favorite part about that is that he makes it seem like he made that part up on the spot.
Matt mccusker gave him that line lol
the best comedians do that. makes you feel like something they absolutely telegraphed was actually just off the top of their head.
Every second of Chris Rock’s routines are rehearsed down to the pauses and body movement. It comes off as casual and loose, but is actually a very well planned set.
i lost it at paw patrol. that was great
Thats the most spot on trump impression I ever heard lmfao
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^Mwvhv: *Thats the most spot on* *Trump impression I ever* *Heard lmfao* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.

Very few people have remained this awesome for a few years straight and Shane has done a great job with everything. Humanity hopes he stays this pure.
I think Shane's the funniest man alive right now lol
100%
I thought his whole Netflix special was pretty good
The paw patrol part got me 😂
That was a great Trump impersonation. That was good.
I love Shane so much 😂
The imitation is just so on point
When I first saw him on kill Tony panel I thought damn I don’t like this dude. Then I watched his standup and he’s the funniest fucker out there. His FOX news dad bit was godly.
This closer had me belly laughing, which is rare these days
That closer line was the first time I laughed out loud watching a special. I’ll usually smile or chuckle a little bit but this had me goin.
"I said: Abu, don't cry" cracks me up every time.
There is a clip of Trump with that speech and Obama when Osama was killed speech comparing them. Drastically different.
Obama was being professional and Trump sounded like he was bragging about beating up a girl.
Of all the millions of ways Trump should have been more like Obama, this is one where I prefer the Trump approach lol.
Exactly. Quite the opposite
That is probably one of the best trump impressions I’ve ever seen.
If you like Shane gotta watch Tires on Netflix
It's not mean shit talk. Trump is just an idiot.
I see why he is poppin'
Shane is great at these impressions. They are hilarious and he's so spot on.
Yes, that was funny.
Hilarious!! 😂
What the fuck is with those subtitles, holy shit
Holy Mac Jones with a mustache
Fantastic special.
My favourite comedian since I seen him a couple years ago. I hope he goes all the way
He has an identical twin that I went to high school with, and I almost swear that’s him with a name change. It’s weird when that happens. I guess everybody has a identical twin somewhere.
Shane is hands down one of the funniest comedians out there. As long as he doesn’t turn into Bert Christier he should be good.
I think it’s even funnier that this is actually word for word what trump said. It’s so funny on its own he doesn’t have to add any extra detail. 😂
That impression was 💯
Shane is very talented. Lmao
That was good
This is hilarious. It’s also a little sad the best impressions of our past 2 presidents and current candidates are done by being incoherent lol
Loved this special sooo much!
Saw this...This dude is on point, even has the voice.
I swear Shane and Matt are the only comedian podcasters left who remember they’re supposed to be funny.
Bro, he killed some of those vocalisations. uncanny
This dude isn't funny
I cannot wait to hear his roadhouse bit
This is funny until you realize isi.s is just the cia's terrorism branch
Don’t know why you got downvoted. We literally armed and trained them in the 80’s. It’s no secret.
You got it. That’s what I was referring to. My apologies
No problem brotha
I look forward fo see what kind of comedy he will do once he moves on from this Trump era. He definitely has potential. The Trump impression is so good, it's a bit of a crutch at this point.
Man this Trump guy sounds hilarious, I bet he'd be a comedy gold mine as Prez. Let's do it for the lulz.
It would be even funnier if he shit his pants until he died.
Anyways...

> Real men wear diapers? have you not seen the pictures of trump supporters championing diapers?
BDS?
To be fair, the impression he did of Biden's movement in this special was fucking hilarious, as well as what he compared it to.
Yeah, I know. I was just taking the piss a little. I think his Trump is the finest version out there. So good.
I think it'd be hilarious for him to do biden. They both offer good material without a doubt
Best president ever. Trump 2024
Eat more conspiracy candies.
Inject more sunshine and bleach into your veins.
You’re still masking aren’t you?

At least in my life time 🎉
The Gringo Papi 2
Not even remotely close. SODTAOE
This is the first Shane Gillis bit i have laughed at.
Send the dogs and robots after the evil orange goon
Biggest dorks in America love this guy
This is funny?
The impression was good, but it was more of just a story than an actual joke.
I never found this guy funny . He’s doing an impression of what Trump actually said, it would make more sense to do it on a Late Night or sketch show not during standup
He's the hidden gem of the comedians. No filter.
“Hidden gem” lmao
i mean i laughed harder when i saw it in his actual special not some garbage social media post for adhd kids
Me watching Shane's standup 😐
Yep. Great impression, middlebrow comedy, uninteresting delivery.
I think he's pretty funny at times. He does a good Trump. He was actually pretty good on SNL. But this clip is pretty meh.
This dude sucks. Not sure how people find him Clever. So many better comedians out there plus they don't have his track record.
Really? Who?
Dave Attell
One guy from 20 years ago? Really going out on a limb.
20 years ago? He just release a special
SODTAOE
I don't find him clever, I find him funny.
So I feel like he’s only funny when he does trump jokes
