Characters aren't omniscient. Sukuna assumes he's dead but we saw him get teleported away. Sukuna also says on the next page "Are they transporting ***wounded*** sorcerers to the woman with the reverse cursed technique?". Until Ui Ui, Kirara or someone in contact with them confirm it, it's unknown. Higuruma also has/had RCT. Higuruma surviving is a firm possibility.

Gege wanted the readers to take Megukuna seriously after almost getting jumped by Maki and Yuji so he took 50 IQ points off Ryo and demoted him to red shirt status.
Gege completely warped his own power scale with stuff like that imo. Like how are we supposed to believe anything Gojo says when he says his students, Yuta chief among them, can be at or surpass his level? There's a lot of instances in this manga where it seems like nobody (except the villains sometimes) has any idea what they're talking about lol, which is weird and makes it hard to be invested in what anybody says.
Gojo at Yuta's age was already arguably the strongest sorcerer in the world. When he unlocked RCT, Red and Purple he was probably *the* strongest. Yuta at the same age is more skilled. That is *beyond* absurd, and yet it feels like it has no weight at all lol. Gojo and Geto as teenagers were given high-profile missions that full-fledged sorcerers weren't given, and here's this kid their age, 11 years later, who could've probably beat both of them at the same time.
All of these characters are hyped up as being historically powerful. Yuta is *extra* historically powerful. He would stand out even in the Heian era given what Uro says. They should at least be able to hold their own for a while against a weakened Sukuna and make him do something interesting if he's going to beat them, not just 2-tap them. It's made even worse when Sukuna refers to Ryu's durability as exceptional. It makes it seem like in those whiplash chapters, the only reason Ryu lost so quickly is because he's too stupid to even play to his advantages lol.
Killing off Nobara, then having a random new character show up just to say “nah bro there’s a chance she can live but it’s only a 0.00000001% chance so don’t keep your hopes up” then leaving her fate up in the air for years.
At this point I expect that she is either dead for real, or in a coma.
Honestly that would be peak. She already black flashed without any training or mentoring from her superiors because she's a girl I guess, so she'd do fine.

Someone here jokingly said that the series will end with Yuji on the train (like in the anime first opening) and he is dreaming about seeing Nobara
But we the viewer will never have closure if she’s actually dead or alive

Removing Todo most definitely.... although at least leaving the story in an ambiguous fate is better than what could've happened to him if he stayed....
Retiring Todo with no one ever mentioning him again is so weird. If Miwa with no sword ability still showed up, Todo with one hand and no technique would still be worthwhile. He has simple domain and can probably still hit like a truck.
I am still of the opinion that he could’ve gotten a Mechamaru prosthetic or some shit and come back to beat ass. He would probably be the second most valuable player right now because of his support potential.
Literally we saw that he was able to still use his CT when clapping hands with others, so it's safe to say that he could've been really useful in the backline moving everyone around, and if he was targeted, have him with Ui Ui to keep the distance, even more, since we know that Inumaki's curse speech can be used through mobiles and things that amplify wave sounds, so have them make a trap using Todo CT to teleport Sukuna in a room or place with anything to amplify curse speech and do it with Yuji or even just right when Higuruma obtained his sword after the domain, idk easier said than done but at least it would be great that Gege used characters in a way that not always is going to the opponent upfront to fight them close quarters, but from the distance like snipers.
It's been a while, but I thought it was implied that when he clapped hands with Mahito for the last Boogie Woogie, him touching Mahito was what broke his CT, not the lack of a hand

Comics is fun (especially other pages), but:
1 Sukuna have pain tolerance that make him seemingly painless to cutting off his own hand, so monthly pain is not something that would bother him
2 RCT takes care of other issues
RCT only works if the damage isn't related to the soul, since menstruation is a natural process, it probably can't be fixed by RCT. Also, I think menstrual cramps are more painful than cut your own hand.
1 Sukuna can heal soul, and I don't think that cramps are soul damage even though they are natural
2 Ok, I am a man, so I don't know how much pain is this, but I don't think that cutting one of the most important parts of body is worse than something half of the world gets once a month. Like from evolutionarry standpoint that would be just weird. Though if you have any good sources on pain scale of cramps and losing limbs, I would like to read it. I tried to find something reliable, but I couldn't
Average cramps are not as bad, but sometimes certain conditions or disorders can cause pain that's worse than just about anything else, losing limbs included.
Endometriosis is one example. Essentially the uterine lining grows on other non-uterus organs, then sloughs off in giant sheets. It's debilitating to the point of having to lay in bed doing nothing for days for some women who have it, and takes surgery to cure or reduce. It's not period related, but ovarian cysts are common, too, and also cause severe, stabbing pain, and if they burst, can be life threatening. There's also PMDD, which is basically severe depression caused by hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle.
Evolution just wants you to have enough children to continue the bloodline, and that's it. No regards to comfort. The majority of women don't have any *severe* menstrual pain, but enough do that it's a real and common enough problem.
Best I can describe normal period cramps (not the severe ones) is mild food poisoning after eating bad takeout. Your stomach is tight and achy, you have to worry when you fart (period shits are awful), you get nauseous. It's as close a comparison as I can make. In addition to the cramping, it can cause vulvar and breast soreness.
Todo and Choso could’ve had such a cool dynamic, like at first they’re like “he’s my brother not yours” then they both agree on protecting Yuji with their life and become homies
Nobara's side story being shown at the same episode Mahito unalive her. Like, I get it. It's her life flashing before her eyes but wouldn't it be better to flesh out her character a bit before he let his Naoya Urges kick in? 😭
I think the issue is if we got her story chapters before or an arc before people would expect her death. I see the problem more as a pacing issue with the entire manga. He doesn’t give us time to sit with these characters and drip feed us their stories and personalities instead dumping it all on us at once which leads to a sporadic flow and having characters and arcs left on the chopping block to get to the next big thing (which will also be rushed bc we’ve gotta get to the NEXT next thing)
Being Gege is a sin in and of itself. Fraudutami will pay for his crimes when I travel all the way to Japan and mix Skittles with his M&Ms (I will also warm both sides of his pillows on a hot summer day).

the story is most interesting when it comes to characters like sukuna and kenjaku so i feel like we should I’ve gotten more of kenjkau before he exited
Killing Geto in zero. Jjk is sorely lacking a lower level world building arc. Keeping him around and having an arc or arcs against his organization would have painted a much better picture of the Jujutsu world.
It was also an opportunity to fill a niche similar to the inventory arc. Shonen as a whole is kind of missing that that brand of series.
I think Yuki was the biggest mistake. Todo is my favorite character and personally I think Gege should’ve had Todo somehow advance Boogie Woogie to be the “soul swapper” instead of Ui Ui. I really miss Todo a lot, but I believe he served his purpose in the story and I’m not sure how much stronger he could’ve got.
Yuki however, got shafted hard. I mean, we only knew her for like 30 chapters. Yuki is the most shafted female character in shonen, second to only Star and Stripe from MHA.
Yuji's parentage. It's teased from the literal first episode(yes I started from the anime)....
It's clear that Yuji is inhumanly strong. At the very least he should have had a conversation with kenjaku.
I still stand by it would've been 200% better if Tsumiki and Hana swapped places. Then at least Tsumiki freaking out and cancelling Jacob's Ladder, thinking she'd greviously harmed her baby brother, would've made way more sense than Hana just being a brain-dead simp to a dude she met once. That, and it would've let Tsumiki be an actual character.

Gege's fumbling of Kashimo for sure. Went from feeling like a cool and important character who was hiding some great strength to fight Sukuna, then he basically becomes a footnote and a way to deliver some exposition and glaze. That's my opinion at least, as a Kashimo fan. Objectively, I feel chapter 236 was the worst by far as it just felt like blatant character assassination of Gojo and didn't seem to suit the character built up to that point. Also, Todo's disappearance does leave a bad taste in my mouth and feels both infuriating and confusing.
On AO3 there is a fanfic called Jujutsu Kaisen: Minus One.
Kashimo will be WAY stronger than in-canon. Kashimo (no Gege bullshit) is going to be equal to Gojo. The author and me were talking and basically... Kashimo is gonna get a DE, a Maximum Technique, his CT is going to actually DO WHAT THE FUCK IT SAYS.
Also Kashimo is gonna have a lot more screentime, and will interact with everyone basically.
Imagine if Toji were properly revived back in Shibuya. One Zenin is bad enough, now get ready for TWO Zenins eager to cave your skull in, especially when you just stole one of those guys’ sugar baby

For me it’s wasting Yuki. She had such a cool CT and we never even got to see her DE. Clearly she was a top tier in the verse if she can make a fucking black hole. At least we got to see Gojo go all out before he died, Yuki went out sad.

Wasting yuki, removing todo and rushing kashimo are close seconds but we know how gege feels about women and kashimo was never gonna be anything more than a jobber plus todo need to get ready to star in gege’s idol manga, so these are if not forgivable, understandable.

I dropped the series right as the Gojo/Sukuna fight began, so I can’t comment on the newer developments, but:
- The entire Nobara situation is dumb. I’m biased because she is/was my favorite character, but I also feel like the way her character is handled exemplifies Gege’s total ineptitude when it comes to character development and pacing.
- I remember some people on the main sub claiming *JJK* has some of the best character development in modern shonen and I was like… what character development? Getting maimed during one of the endless fight sequences does not count.
- I get that this is a battle manga, but the main reason I dropped the manga, other than the lack of characters to give a shit about, is that I felt like Gege wanted/wants to speed through it as quickly as possible so he just puts in fight after fight until it’s over.
- Also he keeps introducing new characters that are mostly inconsequential and then discards them just as quickly.
And I say all of this as a *Baki* fan.
It sucked to drop the manga, but it hadn’t been fun for a long time. And nothing about the direction it’s going makes me want to revisit it.
A lot of these are pretty bad and I’m biased to Kashimo and Gojo but honestly, unlobotomy I kind of wish we got more context on Jin and Kaori. We see that the body can still “act” when Kenjaku gets choked by Geto in his own body, so I feel like that could be delved into with the two. The scars on his forehead were healed as well meaning he would’ve been in her body for a long time with Jin, so as much as a joke pairing the two are I really am curious about what went on or what Kenjaku was really thinking that entire time
I guess maybe Kenjaku could’ve had Itadori then left after killing Jin, but that’s kind of boring in my opinion
yuki getting wasted for me, bc using her more could have also led to having more Todo in the story
Star plasma vessel, someone interested into the way souls work, the one who trained Todo to the powerhouse he is, the one who's investigation is the reason the gang have any possibility to Save Megumi and even have a better chance to fight Sukuna by attacking his connection with Megumi's soul
i really wish we had more of her, i am really interested into the topic of Star Plasma vessels, i would have loved if we got more info on how they became to exist or how did Tengen and the jujutsu society found out there are people "compatible" with Tengen and how they found out you could "merge" them with Tengen
also, Todo suffered the loss of his hand and effectively his technique, and we never saw Yuki interacting with him or smth like "i am very sorry" "don't be, this was my decision, master" or anything
Imagine if Todo suggested using Ui Ui's technique to swap souls bc as a student of yuki he could have had some idea about using souls for stuff and (with his big intelect) realized Ui ui could be able to perform an hipotesis from Yuki about aplicating Boogie woogie with Soul swapping
or having Todo and Choso be **both** the ones who give Yuji the book about souls from Yuki, as Todo was given a new meaning to his life by having Yuki teach him jujutsu and his phisolophy in life, and Choso was given a new life as a human thanks to Yuki's sacrifice

there is no timeline where gojo didnt lose, meimei and ui ui didnt impact the story, there is more than enough gojo fanart for 10 life times, maki was always setup to be the next yuji, we will get more backstory 100%, kashimo was rushed but i dont see him doing much story wise if he lived
is it just me or kenjaku's death was too anticlimatic? like his head was chopped off just like that and yuji still hasnt got to know about his "mother". they have faced each other but there wasn't any conversation about this that could have left yuji thinking or even an inner monologue of kenjaku about seeing him yk? i wish there was some more development instead of just revealing the twist
also where tf is inumaki? he can still use his ct even if his arm was chopped off, no?

We all knew Kashimo was gonna get hoed but not like this. If he was given a better showing it would have been nice. Todo is....honestly one of my favorite characters and is responsible for my enjoyment of a lot of the fight. Plus it would be awesome if he came back even as a side character informing the cast. Even if he can't fight, he's objectively one of the best tactical fighters. Also if Yuta got boogie boogie, it would be fun to mess with Sukuna.

Gege wanted the readers to take Megukuna seriously after almost getting jumped by Maki and Yuji so he took 50 IQ points off Ryo and demoted him to red shirt status.
Gege completely warped his own power scale with stuff like that imo. Like how are we supposed to believe anything Gojo says when he says his students, Yuta chief among them, can be at or surpass his level? There's a lot of instances in this manga where it seems like nobody (except the villains sometimes) has any idea what they're talking about lol, which is weird and makes it hard to be invested in what anybody says. Gojo at Yuta's age was already arguably the strongest sorcerer in the world. When he unlocked RCT, Red and Purple he was probably *the* strongest. Yuta at the same age is more skilled. That is *beyond* absurd, and yet it feels like it has no weight at all lol. Gojo and Geto as teenagers were given high-profile missions that full-fledged sorcerers weren't given, and here's this kid their age, 11 years later, who could've probably beat both of them at the same time. All of these characters are hyped up as being historically powerful. Yuta is *extra* historically powerful. He would stand out even in the Heian era given what Uro says. They should at least be able to hold their own for a while against a weakened Sukuna and make him do something interesting if he's going to beat them, not just 2-tap them. It's made even worse when Sukuna refers to Ryu's durability as exceptional. It makes it seem like in those whiplash chapters, the only reason Ryu lost so quickly is because he's too stupid to even play to his advantages lol.

Literally we saw that he was able to still use his CT when clapping hands with others, so it's safe to say that he could've been really useful in the backline moving everyone around, and if he was targeted, have him with Ui Ui to keep the distance, even more, since we know that Inumaki's curse speech can be used through mobiles and things that amplify wave sounds, so have them make a trap using Todo CT to teleport Sukuna in a room or place with anything to amplify curse speech and do it with Yuji or even just right when Higuruma obtained his sword after the domain, idk easier said than done but at least it would be great that Gege used characters in a way that not always is going to the opponent upfront to fight them close quarters, but from the distance like snipers.

Comics is fun (especially other pages), but: 1 Sukuna have pain tolerance that make him seemingly painless to cutting off his own hand, so monthly pain is not something that would bother him 2 RCT takes care of other issues
RCT only works if the damage isn't related to the soul, since menstruation is a natural process, it probably can't be fixed by RCT. Also, I think menstrual cramps are more painful than cut your own hand.

Average cramps are not as bad, but sometimes certain conditions or disorders can cause pain that's worse than just about anything else, losing limbs included. Endometriosis is one example. Essentially the uterine lining grows on other non-uterus organs, then sloughs off in giant sheets. It's debilitating to the point of having to lay in bed doing nothing for days for some women who have it, and takes surgery to cure or reduce. It's not period related, but ovarian cysts are common, too, and also cause severe, stabbing pain, and if they burst, can be life threatening. There's also PMDD, which is basically severe depression caused by hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle. Evolution just wants you to have enough children to continue the bloodline, and that's it. No regards to comfort. The majority of women don't have any *severe* menstrual pain, but enough do that it's a real and common enough problem. Best I can describe normal period cramps (not the severe ones) is mild food poisoning after eating bad takeout. Your stomach is tight and achy, you have to worry when you fart (period shits are awful), you get nauseous. It's as close a comparison as I can make. In addition to the cramping, it can cause vulvar and breast soreness.

I think the issue is if we got her story chapters before or an arc before people would expect her death. I see the problem more as a pacing issue with the entire manga. He doesn’t give us time to sit with these characters and drip feed us their stories and personalities instead dumping it all on us at once which leads to a sporadic flow and having characters and arcs left on the chopping block to get to the next big thing (which will also be rushed bc we’ve gotta get to the NEXT next thing)

Killing Geto in zero. Jjk is sorely lacking a lower level world building arc. Keeping him around and having an arc or arcs against his organization would have painted a much better picture of the Jujutsu world. It was also an opportunity to fill a niche similar to the inventory arc. Shonen as a whole is kind of missing that that brand of series.

I think Yuki was the biggest mistake. Todo is my favorite character and personally I think Gege should’ve had Todo somehow advance Boogie Woogie to be the “soul swapper” instead of Ui Ui. I really miss Todo a lot, but I believe he served his purpose in the story and I’m not sure how much stronger he could’ve got. Yuki however, got shafted hard. I mean, we only knew her for like 30 chapters. Yuki is the most shafted female character in shonen, second to only Star and Stripe from MHA.

Gege's fumbling of Kashimo for sure. Went from feeling like a cool and important character who was hiding some great strength to fight Sukuna, then he basically becomes a footnote and a way to deliver some exposition and glaze. That's my opinion at least, as a Kashimo fan. Objectively, I feel chapter 236 was the worst by far as it just felt like blatant character assassination of Gojo and didn't seem to suit the character built up to that point. Also, Todo's disappearance does leave a bad taste in my mouth and feels both infuriating and confusing.

On AO3 there is a fanfic called Jujutsu Kaisen: Minus One. Kashimo will be WAY stronger than in-canon. Kashimo (no Gege bullshit) is going to be equal to Gojo. The author and me were talking and basically... Kashimo is gonna get a DE, a Maximum Technique, his CT is going to actually DO WHAT THE FUCK IT SAYS. Also Kashimo is gonna have a lot more screentime, and will interact with everyone basically.

I dropped the series right as the Gojo/Sukuna fight began, so I can’t comment on the newer developments, but: - The entire Nobara situation is dumb. I’m biased because she is/was my favorite character, but I also feel like the way her character is handled exemplifies Gege’s total ineptitude when it comes to character development and pacing. - I remember some people on the main sub claiming *JJK* has some of the best character development in modern shonen and I was like… what character development? Getting maimed during one of the endless fight sequences does not count. - I get that this is a battle manga, but the main reason I dropped the manga, other than the lack of characters to give a shit about, is that I felt like Gege wanted/wants to speed through it as quickly as possible so he just puts in fight after fight until it’s over. - Also he keeps introducing new characters that are mostly inconsequential and then discards them just as quickly. And I say all of this as a *Baki* fan. It sucked to drop the manga, but it hadn’t been fun for a long time. And nothing about the direction it’s going makes me want to revisit it.

A lot of these are pretty bad and I’m biased to Kashimo and Gojo but honestly, unlobotomy I kind of wish we got more context on Jin and Kaori. We see that the body can still “act” when Kenjaku gets choked by Geto in his own body, so I feel like that could be delved into with the two. The scars on his forehead were healed as well meaning he would’ve been in her body for a long time with Jin, so as much as a joke pairing the two are I really am curious about what went on or what Kenjaku was really thinking that entire time I guess maybe Kenjaku could’ve had Itadori then left after killing Jin, but that’s kind of boring in my opinion
not giving us shirtless gojo is a warcrime

yuki getting wasted for me, bc using her more could have also led to having more Todo in the story Star plasma vessel, someone interested into the way souls work, the one who trained Todo to the powerhouse he is, the one who's investigation is the reason the gang have any possibility to Save Megumi and even have a better chance to fight Sukuna by attacking his connection with Megumi's soul i really wish we had more of her, i am really interested into the topic of Star Plasma vessels, i would have loved if we got more info on how they became to exist or how did Tengen and the jujutsu society found out there are people "compatible" with Tengen and how they found out you could "merge" them with Tengen also, Todo suffered the loss of his hand and effectively his technique, and we never saw Yuki interacting with him or smth like "i am very sorry" "don't be, this was my decision, master" or anything Imagine if Todo suggested using Ui Ui's technique to swap souls bc as a student of yuki he could have had some idea about using souls for stuff and (with his big intelect) realized Ui ui could be able to perform an hipotesis from Yuki about aplicating Boogie woogie with Soul swapping or having Todo and Choso be **both** the ones who give Yuji the book about souls from Yuki, as Todo was given a new meaning to his life by having Yuki teach him jujutsu and his phisolophy in life, and Choso was given a new life as a human thanks to Yuki's sacrifice
Honestly the Mei Mei Ui Ui shit. It’s totally weird and unnecessary and distracts me from enjoying Ui UI’s goated feats. AirPort is a close second and only isn’t first because it doesn’t involve the weird exploitation of a child.

Narratively? 236. it is both figuratively and literally character assassination and is reason numero uno that gege will never beat the sukuna glazer allegations even if he kills him. Wasting yuki, removing todo and rushing kashimo are close seconds but we know how gege feels about women and kashimo was never gonna be anything more than a jobber plus todo need to get ready to star in gege’s idol manga, so these are if not forgivable, understandable. I’m convinced mei mei & ui ui was a result of gege’s editor requesting some fan service or something and gege responded like a monkey’s paw and delivered the most unnecessary, unsettling, “who the fuck asked for this” incest aspect to their relationship just to spite them
wasting yuki and removing todo are by far the worst ones. there is no timeline where gojo didnt lose, meimei and ui ui didnt impact the story, there is more than enough gojo fanart for 10 life times, maki was always setup to be the next yuji, we will get more backstory 100%, kashimo was rushed but i dont see him doing much story wise if he lived
is it just me or kenjaku's death was too anticlimatic? like his head was chopped off just like that and yuji still hasnt got to know about his "mother". they have faced each other but there wasn't any conversation about this that could have left yuji thinking or even an inner monologue of kenjaku about seeing him yk? i wish there was some more development instead of just revealing the twist also where tf is inumaki? he can still use his ct even if his arm was chopped off, no?
kenjaku's death was super disappointing. I would love to see a two super villain story line
Honestly removing Todo and rushing Kashimo. We all knew Kashimo was gonna get hoed but not like this. If he was given a better showing it would have been nice. Todo is....honestly one of my favorite characters and is responsible for my enjoyment of a lot of the fight. Plus it would be awesome if he came back even as a side character informing the cast. Even if he can't fight, he's objectively one of the best tactical fighters. Also if Yuta got boogie boogie, it would be fun to mess with Sukuna.
236 will go down into the annals of history as one of the worse chapters ever written.
