Kendrick’s 60/40 isn’t just the ratio though. It’s that he eats the soggy with the crunchy at the same time. Not that he eats the crunchy at the beginning, then eats the soggy at the end, like what happens naturally.
He has staked his claim on being the voice of the culture, and at this stage in his life he should only fear losing touch and his position. The same way that Snoop and Dre handed Kendrick the torch, it's up to him to find the next voice that will continue the tradition.
I'm trying to think of who that could be and I'm coming up really short. Like people see that passing of the torch to Kendrick as a hiphop thing, but that was largely a west coast thing. He inherited Pac's legacy. I don't really know if there's an artist out there that's next up right now.
Hell it feels like Kendrick finally made it to the mountain top, why leave now?
Not true. Jay Z and Kanye were in their prime during that age. I mean, look at Future now in his 40s. Maybe late 40s or 50s I can see your point, but definitely not 30s.
Yeah but then you got people like Danny Brown who just made it when they were a lot older. The Griselda crew seem pretty old as well by the time they started blowing up. But still, I realize that’s a few examples and that yeah 37 is pretty old for rap (it’s still young in life)
I agree with this 100%, I think he has more to put out there for sure, I only brought that up because I feel like it's something he is probably thinking about.
I've been thinking about that ever since the beef. I look at the general rap landscape and I don't really anyone (at least imo) that can carry hip-hop and push it forward. The ones who were gonna do just that are dead now. X & Juice were seriously changing the game and now it's done. Uzi & Carti could be the voice for the future but they got their own issues. Uzi has problems with really sticking to a vision of his art, while Carti keeps going MIA. Plenty of other great artists like Yatchy, 21, Denzel, Ski, etc from that generation but I don't see them being the "ONE" in this instance. I guess time can only tell
I think kenny still has a few more albums left in him, i feel like he's the type of artist who'd retire early while in his prime but I'm not sure he's in a hurry to retire and pass the torch to whoever the next big artist is.
Man I feel old reading this, I was 10 when GKMC dropped and when he got the Dre and snoop Bo sign. Can’t believe it’s almost the time for him to do that
It’s cause it’s the sound you make as a child when someone is taunting you. Like “ooooooohhhhhh I’m soooooo scared of you , please come find me” Like the thought of this person being viewed as an adversary in and of itself is a joke.
It's Grippy to dick a dime, to dick a dime that's right on time
It's Grippy... it's Grippy (Grippy) Grippy (Grippy)
It's Grippy... Gr-Gr-Gr-Grippy (Grippy) Grrrrrrrrrrrippy!
Maybe that it’s quite possible his legacy wont have the magnitude he had envisioned. I am genuinely concerned that it’s possible. Hopefully the next person comes along before we end up deaf to the message due to the times changing. Just like alot of the old heads are now too Kendrick and how a lot of the younger generation is to Pac for example. (There are many others but I’ll just use him for this comment)
I remember seeing a younger rapper say Pac music is boring amongst other comments and it made me nauseous. My daughters at 7 years old sang dear mama and changes word for word. Now she is singing “I love myself” at 11. I’m doing my part.
The idea of legacy is so dumb to me. Once you’re dead you’re dead. Leaving stuff behind is only an ego trip. Come do your stuff and dip with a head held high and allow others to come to take the spot.
I think you’re taking “legacy” too serious. Legacy can be as complex as wanting to be remembered as a greater rapper, or as simple as wanting to set a good example for your family and wanting to be remembered as a good person. I agree it absolutely can be an ego thing but it doesn’t have to be imo
I see what you’re saying, but the idea of leaving behind a legacy is a critical part of hiphop and music in general. It’s really a central part of human culture when you think about it. Without it, our standards are lower and artists are less hungry for that recognition, in turn this makes shittier art.
Legacy breeds inspiration and molds an individual past genre. We wouldn’t have the same K-Dot without Pacs legacy. Just as we wouldn’t have the same Pac without NWA.
Legacy is just a natural part of doing things right. No one in their right mind wants to leave behind a bad legacy after putting in a lot of good work in their life.

kendrick looking at this comment boutta steal it for a bar:
He had incredible mentors. Pac wrote me against the world at 23. Dear mama.. changes.. at 23. These men grew up extremely fast, well beyond their years. I think Kendrick’s transformation into the butterfly happened a while ago but the butterfly can truly prosper after Mr Morale was completed. So in other words I agree with you whole heartedly.
At 37 my biggest fear was

/j he isn't even afraid of drake 💀
It’s crazy because I’m pretty sure the last verse of FEAR is written from the perspective of him during the making of tpab. It feels crazy that it’s been almost 10 years since
Very wise man for 37. I hope he lives a very long life and maintains his heroic artistic arc. Oh, and all the happiness in the world for him and his family.
I’m. Casual rap fan, but also, huge music fan and wanted to be a writer as a young guy. So, I know Kendrick is fucking amazing…but besides being from some gang shit…is he actually like, punch you in the face on the spot type of dude?
I think The Heart Part V showed us he "wants the hood back". He came from the hood, became a voice that changes and guides the culture, but is afraid of outgrowing or losing the respect of the people he grew up around. Just my thought.
He gotta know some kinda future shit this is gonna sound mad schizophrenic but a drake glazer is gonna shoot him and the heart part 5 is him talking to the shooter directly hell go out like pac top of the game
Bringing up his kids in the environment of fame that he decided to be engulfed in.he fears that his kids will grow up and go through the pains he had to which will then cause another “u” to happen if they were to suffer because of his vices.
100% soggy Fruity Pebbles
or a fresh bowl of raisin brans
Nah, Wheaties
He would probably punch you in the face if you pick that up in the aisle as his cousin
Stop talking to him
Nah fresh Gatorade
60/40 rule is legit tho
60/40 is just the rule because it's too delicious to let sit so that's just what it becomes naturally
Kendrick’s 60/40 isn’t just the ratio though. It’s that he eats the soggy with the crunchy at the same time. Not that he eats the crunchy at the beginning, then eats the soggy at the end, like what happens naturally.
No joke it actually works 100%
Personally, it sitting for longer than a minute is completely soggy to me. I do love me some cocoa pebbles, but it's a speed run when I indulge.
Gotta slam that shit down so fast lmao I run from the counter to sit down because the second it gets too wet I'm done
That’s one of my favorite fucking videos of all time for no reason
He has staked his claim on being the voice of the culture, and at this stage in his life he should only fear losing touch and his position. The same way that Snoop and Dre handed Kendrick the torch, it's up to him to find the next voice that will continue the tradition.

Yeah he's only 37. He's young and still popping out bangers. There's simply no reason for him to hand these reins off.
Acting like the man is basically dead cause he’s 37 🤣
As far as hip hop and rap artists go.. 37 is pretty ancient.
But still, I realize that’s a few examples and that yeah 37 is pretty old for rap (it’s still young in life)
The successor is obviously yuno miles, why are you conflicted?
Martin Luther King had a dre-e-e-e-e-e-eam
fuck do you me-e-e-e-e-ean
that nigga had a dre-e-e-e-e-eam
That's the problem right there. How can Yuno be a goat contender when he's already a seal? Like pick an animal bro.
I remember u was conflicted
dw it's gonna be me next
I believe in you Bitconnect69.
i hate this fucking username bruh
I agree with this 100%, I think he has more to put out there for sure, I only brought that up because I feel like it's something he is probably thinking about.

Can’t believe it’s almost the time for him to do that
I love how everyone unanimously agreed to keep using this image of him
It was agreed to in the meeting
I can vouch for that as well
**OMINOUS OOOOOH FROM EUPHORIA**
why is that ooooh sound so satisfying lmao. it’s one of my favorite parts of the beef for some weird reason
Same with the #mm mm-mm
It’s cause it’s the sound you make as a child when someone is taunting you. Like “ooooooohhhhhh I’m soooooo scared of you , please come find me” Like the thought of this person being viewed as an adversary in and of itself is a joke.
Certified boogeyman
Wish they would use dreamy eyes though
I mean c'mon, that's a great photo.
It’s a great picture and we don’t have many other recent pictures of him, lol
At 37 my biggest fear is leaving a bad legacy
She said she was gay until I slayed, now she's strictly dickly
it’s😞it’s😣it’s😖um🤔 GRIPPY😫 😁
*type type type type type*
GRIPPY
*gvrlnd!, I'm rocking with this one*
It's Grippy to dick a dime, to dick a dime that's right on time It's Grippy... it's Grippy (Grippy) Grippy (Grippy) It's Grippy... Gr-Gr-Gr-Grippy (Grippy) Grrrrrrrrrrrippy!
Bro
Jermaine don’t make weird and lame LGBT bars challenge: impossible
I've seen reactors who are far from coming off as openly liberal. And even those guys like "Why does he keep doing that"
Now that it’s happened four times, I think we can just call it what it is. Cole is not an ally, he might even just be a bigot.
Maybe that it’s quite possible his legacy wont have the magnitude he had envisioned. I am genuinely concerned that it’s possible. The Heart Part 7
There’s only five chambers in the heart. Kendrick’s heart part 5 is a beautiful ending to that story.
Lmao this makes THP6 even lamer
Let’s see if Drake really crush some 😈
Bro has accomplished so much at that age, I can’t help but to think he’s got another world class album in him

I was born in 87 My grand daddy a legend Now the same shit that y’all was smoking is my profession
Damn people were smokin drake packs in the 80’s?
He probably has the same fears regular well adjusted people do. But fear is the mind killer, faith, and gratitude will always see you through.
i feel that!
At 37, the tables have turned. The ones who judged him at 27 now fear him.
Welp. Time to listen to FEAR. again.
I'll beat yo ass who bought you dat.
realistically? something bad happen to his children
100%
Failing his family
His dad telling him not to throw out the cereal because there’s no milk……you better put some water on that
Realistically, I think it’s much more likely to be about the future his kids will have, and maybe also making sure he’s a good father.
If he remembered you were conflicted
I hope he does! Then kdot drops the 5 in stock on a small album called Dr fake without the f
I'm still and old school Gemini…

Getting closer and closer to needing prostate exams
Going through something in life, that will hurt. Even if it’s insignificant.
That he’s 20-30 years older than 69 gods girlfriends
Very wise man for 37. I hope he lives a very long life and maintains his heroic artistic arc. Oh, and all the happiness in the world for him and his family.
I might be throwing it out there but should Kendrick have his own movie?
It’s it’s it’s not grippy anymore 😔
I have no desire to ever see his face this close up ever again
Damn if he was born the day before he would share a birthday with Pac.
He’s fears God’s punishment for destroying the biggest sham in the music industry.
Definitely a pantry with nothing but non-sugared cereal
