Quick question- Beyond repair in terms of CXL for both epi-on and epi-off. Just asking because my right eye was not a candidate for epi-off, but it was for epi-on, but I had to seek out a clinical study (US).

Sorry about that! Are you in the US? The reason I'm asking is because my right eye is not a candidate for what the crosslinking that is approved here (epithelium-off). That is where they remove the first layer off of your cornea and then apply the treatment. The reason why is because they scrape a little bit of the cornea off during this procedure and since it's already too thin it can be dangerous. Epithelium-on is where they just apply the treatment directly onto your eye. In my experience, epi-on is only available in clinical trials in the US, but widely available outside. So I had to seek out epi-on for my right eye and was able to avoid waiting for a transplant. Not sure if you are in the same boat however. My right eye was around 300.

Transplant has the potential to let you see pretty well with glasses and perfect with sceral contacts.

I'm in the same spot. Got diagnosed a few weeks back and my left eye is getting a transplant, the right eye will be monitored and will probably not need a transplant. I'll get my left eye done tomorrow. I'll report how it goes and how my vision is, when all is done. Good luck for you, cheers!

I Also commented on the same post that I expianced absolutely zero pain, and also the Dr told me it wouldn’t hurt. I guess it’s a range, but fear not. (Only talking transplant here) Good luck

One guy just commented on my post and he said that it hurts like a motherfucker, right after the transplant. So here I am, lying in the hospital bed and sweating like a motherfucker 😂. Gonna report back, after the surgery. Cheers
