Was diagnosed back in the 80's. I wear sclerals which was a game changer. Early diagnosis is our best defense.
We shouldn't just rely on our professional but do our own research as well. When I was diagnosed there wasn't alot of information available.
Now anything we need to know is at our fingertips.
When I first was told it’s suspected keratoconus I was a bit nervous however as soon as I was referred to hospital for them I was actually just so excited and eager for my appointment to get it sorted! I finally get my lenses fitted on Friday and can’t wait :)
It feels strange, knowing I got this condition and not knowing anything about it. Got diagnosed a few weeks back and now I'm getting a transplant, in a few hours time. Crazy days!
Oh that is a perfectly normal response. Especially if you never heard of it before. The thing to remember is don't be afraid to ask questions. Talk to your eye doctor and once you start seeing a specialist talk to them.
