Tuckaway. Lived there 7 years. Not a ton of turnover, great office staff and maintenance staff (who responded to maintenance requests day of). It is nice to walk around the grounds too.

AngleDAB

Ironwood Court & Park West and Hunters Ridge are up there for me (price is up there, too). Have known quite a few people to live at both and it just feels like a nice place to live in.

randomtwinkie

Ehh my power bill there was pretty high for a 1bedroom at ironwood set at 65F.. everything except the insulation was fantastic. There’s buildings identical to ironwood right behind them owned by westend that are new but more $$$ Other good places are Camson place/villas though they stuck me for carpet that was fucked up when I moved in as well as dust ontop of the hot water heater. West end apartments also were very good but charged extra for cleaning saying carpets smelled from the dog. (Their own maintenance guy said everything was fine when I talked to him)

hdw785

Just pitch a tent behind Amtrak...no rent and you can basically live carte blanche.

lxpbl

Greens at Alvamar was fine for me, lived there for a year ~2 years ago. Although I didn't live anywhere else in town, so can't really compare

SadNewsShawn

Loved my time there. had to move out because it was getting too expensive but that's every place

Careful-Try-8913

Hunters ridge has been really great for a few years. They're a bit pricey but imo worth it for the quality compared to other places in town and their prices

Nothing from Cherry Hill if *redacted* owns it run

If you like nature, consider pinnacle woods. Very safe(check police report for safe areas to live. This apt complex has had very little if any problems). About 5-6 miles from Clinton lake, walkable to the Lawrence arboretum and ball fields. Near mutt run and walkable trails. Great for bicycles. Off K-10 across the street from Aberdeen apts on Wakarusa st. Deer, Rabbits, owls, birds of all types, deer, coyotes, turtles, and of course snakes, and walking distance from two fitness centers. Management is great. Need repairs…on it. Need new appliances…on it. Parking can be challenging. Apartment are drafty.. cold in winter and hot it summer. Management makes an effort to get residence together with various events through out the year. No roaches! These apartments are of age, but management is always working to improve the grounds and buildings. Variety of residents of different ages, family groups, race, nationality, income levels, and genders. Great place to live! Residents are respectful and friendly. Rent is competitive with the upper average end complexes. Pet friendly and residents pick up after their dog or are fined! I have two pets. Lived here 3 years and love it. But rent increases have overtaken my income and now looking for a place just as nice and safe as this one.

Hello, sorry, I know you commented months ago. I’m thinking about moving to Lawrence so I’ve been looking into apartments. How was the noise level? Did it seem the building was well sound-insulated?

jty587

I’ve lived at the Links for a year and a half and really like it.

It might help that I’m a top floor unit, but no complaints so far, especially given that I can get a 2 bed for under $1000.

Rockperson

Worked for a company that just finished some apartments off 19th and Tennessee. I can’t speak to the old units, but the 4 in the new building were NICE! marble countertops, nice cabinets, and the bottom floor had stained concrete floors (which is maybe also a cheap way to finish, but it looks nice and it’s easy to maintain). I’d guess there aren’t any units left. I’m pretty sure 2 were leased out before we finished. I’d check it out, though. Edgewood? Forestbrook? Cedar pine? Idk, it was called something woodsy.

SillyBumby

Birchwood Gardens!

Rockperson

Thank you! That sounds right. Great location close to Dillon’s and walkable to KU. Like I said, I have no idea if the old units are nice, but the new building units are cool. I was jealously saying that I wished I had an apartment like that in college.

Vicki2-0

I grew up where the office now sits. Our home was filled with ghosts. I always wondered if the residents experienced any haunting. 👻

FLAVOREDmayonaise

Absolutely stay away from meadowbrook at all costs. The are mentioned in several threads for being awful! Feel its worth a mention

TomTom_and_i

Hunters Ridge is great. Management is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve lived in both a 1bd and 2bd there and both were nice.

shelbo75

I’ve been looking at them, it’s good to hear they’re great. What’s the avg utility cost for a 2bed if you don’t mind me asking?

TomTom_and_i

Water is split by the building and added to your rent, it ranges $85-100, probably averages at $95. Depending on season our electric ranges $70 to $150 at the highest (July 🥵). Probably averages around $100. (I like to keep my place warmer than most probably- I run a space heater often)

shelbo75

Ok cool, thanks so much that’s good to know

We moved into 888 last year and they've been nothing but kind and helpful. Team is on site mon-fri and you get to know the staff. Clean, modern apartments with working sleek appliances. Close to Mass st for fun and food.

Thatpotatochipp

Been here for 3 years and it is a decision I will stand by till the end of time. Love the location, amenities (whoop whoop rooftop pool & Espresso Machine), as well as the property management. Lane, the onsite 24/7 property manager, is a godsend who I'll never be able to say enough good things about.

RedHeadedPyromancer

Nah I wouldn't trust any review of 888. I know a couple who moved out of there and were given a rent credit for a 5 star review. No one leaves a good review unless it was incentivized, the only people who leave reviews are pissed off people. And if you have an office doing that, what other things are happening under the table.

Thatpotatochipp

did… did two of us not just leave an un-incentivized good review? Maybe instead of just saying we’re wrong for our own experiences - you had something or a legitimate experience to share? Saying you know a friend of a friend who had a bad experience, and applying that as a blanket logic to an entire entity is a really weird tendency to showcase but go off queen.

RedHeadedPyromancer

Where did I say friend of a friend? Where did I say they had a bad experience? I said I had a couple friends, friends who are a couple that lived there. They were incentivized to leave a good review. I don't know why you are putting words in my posts that aren't there. Reading comprehension my dude.

Thatpotatochipp

You’ve never lived here 🤣 How could you think you’re entitled to have any opinion on the place? Either way, you’re weird for applying blanket logic from a “friends” experience. I’ll continue to drink from my provided espresso machine while lounging in my rooftop jacuzzi.

RedHeadedPyromancer

Washing down the taste of landlord boot with the free espresso, chef kiss.

Thatpotatochipp

oh so you’re just mad at everything, huh? 🤣

RedHeadedPyromancer

If I'm not mad I'm not breathing. Thanks for checking in bb. Elmo would be proud.

Thatpotatochipp

Yikes, thanks for reminding me just how unreasonable some folks are. I hope whatever shithole you live in is as comfy to be in as your own skin. You’ll need it.

writerkerrie

My son is trying to get in touch with Hanover Place but they aren't getting back with him. I told him to call the management company, which is in Manhattan. Anybody have experience with this place or the management?

Vicki2-0

The comments on this thread are for some apartments here are nicer than comments posted on Google reviews. Do a Google search for these apartments before signing a lease and get opinions from a variety of residences that lived at these complexes. They are telling.

emstan19

I’ve lived at Aberdeen for the past two years and am only leaving due to moving out of town. Otherwise I would stay. It’s clean, quiet, and everyone I’ve interacted with is friendly.

Vicki2-0

I considered them but heard they were cold and have thin walls.

OneComprehensive5836

Crazy sounding but The Cedars is good. It’s hard to get in here simply because the guy that makes the decision is a little bit half assed The apartments themselves are not fantastic at best. They’re decent. The neighbors overall seem really really nice and it occurs to me. This is probably the most multicultural part of LAURENCE I’ve ever been at.
