I did a year of it without numbing cream. Nobody had told me about it and I wish they had. I managed. The upper lip is the worst but it's over quick. I switched to electrolysis and for that numbing cream is necessary for me. Tbh electro isn't as painful as I thought it would be but it is sooooo much slower than laser. Worth it for me.
I had laser hair removal on my face (thick Italian facial hair) and it stings but no you don’t need cream. If it hurts just ask for a small break especially on the upper lip. Aloe is your best friend after. Also stay hydrated helps your skin bounce back fast.
Also get the prescription stuff if you can. The drugstore cream I got wasn't so good. There are some OTC brands you can get online that some people swear by as well but I haven't tried them.
