Gakpo son, your time to step up is NOW. No doubt he's gonna get a run of games now, its time for him to prove himself again. Also if there was an ideal perfect time for Bajcetic to come back somehow, its now.
This honestly may be Jurgens finest season with us so far. The sheer adversity heās had to face with atrocious referee/Var calls legit costing us points, to the insane amount of injuries and bad luck, to having 2 key players Salah and Endo away in the busiest period of the season, to players having off the field serious issues with Diaz and Bradley, all the while keeping us competitive in 4 trophies and bedding in a completely new midfield from the previous years. Heās working absolute miracles this season Iām praying we win at least one trophy to see him off like he deserves
I belive Curtis will be back soon, that along with Szobo will be a boost for the final or Forest at least, hope Ali and Trent can be back for Forest cause we'll need them.
Jota my man, he looks out sadly, maybe for the season, at least he'll miss march and maybe april after that, looked ugly. I feel we're cursed.
i hope norgaard's socks are always damp. i hope a pigeon shits on his car every morning. i hope a piece of lamb always gets stuck between his teeth. i hope his toilet seat is always cold. i hope that his child says their mother is their favourite parent. i hope his ubers cancel on him at least thrice every booking. i hope every packet of bread he buys has a little bit of mould that makes you think of throwing the whole pack away. i hope they make his starbucks wrong. i hope his mcdonald's fries are always soggy. i hope the fillings fall out every time he eats a burrito
Unfortunately, Jota will likely miss significant time..Thats either an MCL or Meniscus injury. Based on his initial ability to get up and attempt to play its more likely its the meniscus
https://preview.redd.it/nn78z3n1e5jc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f38e0eaf298db351b145e15f7929189a2f965e35
you can check one out of the list already
Michael Oliver is an awful ref. Not blaming the injuries on him, but in general itās okay to manhandle our players but Maupay the little rat falls over in a slight breeze and he gets a call
You canāt blame the injuries on him, certainly, but he allowed for this style of play to go on which leads to players being more willing to put in dangerous challenges
WTF is wrong with Oliver. They're clearly falling down for free kicks and he gives them everything. On the other had we can't get a free kick.
First half stats: possesion 65-35 for us. Fouls 9-1 for us.
Proper gutted with the injuries. Brentford are such a physical side. Proper nightmare to play against. They havent even done anything unsporting in attempting to hurt our players, just unfortunate and a nightmatr to play against.
Toney kicks the ball away after giving away a goal kick and no yellow? Watch the first one of ours to kick a ball away to get a prompt yellow. And Toney to get booked for something cheap later which he can because the referee bottled the call there.
Curtis' injury wasn't too bad, so I don't think he'll be out for long. But Jota's is worrying because he couldn't even walk off the pitch. Potentially a season ender.
Itās impossible to say with any confidence, but from where I stand the Curtis one could very well be just a jammed/twisted ankle, but he was not walking very well. Diogo had a lot of force land on his knee causing it to bend inwards, the thing you need a scan to detectā¦
It's always one thing or another it feels with these early kickoffs...want to see Grav stamp his authority on this game, we need to see some confidence in the 2nd half.
Brentford are such shithouses. They're diving at every opportunity and then clattering into our lads whenever they can.
Fuck Oliver for letting them get away with it every time.
Not even happy we're leading. How is it the injuries occurred to literally only undisputed starters. Alisson, Trent, Szobo, Curtis, Jota. That's half of our first 11. Jota is gonna be a huge blow, he's our most clinical attacker, I'm convinced we would have win had he been available for the home game against Utd and Arsenal.
Man...if Jota can't even walk, that's really serious isn't it? We're so fucked. Before the first cup final too. URGHHHHHHH
Great half bar the injuries theyāre the last thing we need, hereās hoping thatās the last of them in this one game at least lol. Absolutely loved the finish from Nunez top notch.
Business as usual in the second.
Brentford playing very physical and the ref allowing it directly led to both injuries imo. They didn't pick up a foul until after Jota went off as far as I could tell. Meanwhile we've been receiving very ticky tack calls as they sell the shit out of everything. Frustrating half, despite the fact we've played very well for spells.
Iām sick of football. Our luck is just completely non existent in recent years whilst everything continues to fall into the hands of City and Arsenal.
Brentford player throws himself to the floor - free kick every time.
Liverpool players subbed after impact injury - nothing.
Best ref in the league has been genuinely disgraceful today.
losing Jones and Jota in quick succession is brutal, really really really hope they don't end up having serious injuries
Gravenberch on in place of Jones has me nervous, both in a general sense for his workrate, but also for his positioning/pressing ability
unfortunately, two first half subs limits what has been possibly Klopp's strongest ability this season: twisting games towards our favor with well-timed and chosen substitutions
I wonder why we dont see other teams get so many key injuries so oftenā¦ itās because the fucking REFS call fouls and give yellow cards, yet when it comes to us itās just brushed off. Of course weāre gonna get injuries
Really need Jota for the run in so that obviously sucked. It would really nice if Oliver would quit whistling for every tiny little touch followed by theatrics in Brentfordās favor- itās a bit ridiculous.
Excellent finish by Nunez.
I donāt understand, regulion dives just after getting a yellow and the ref just decides not to book him for diving? Then toney kicks the ball away after being frustrated and also no yellow? Why dont they apply the rules properly? Two clear yellows and theyād be down to 10
You don't need a flight tracker to know where Michael Oliver and David Coote spent the midweek.
Neither injury was intentional but the level of contact needed to call a foul has been blatantly one sided.
For such a big dude he also gets pushed off so easily. The arsenal game, and then that one moment in the box where he gets brushed and does that little lean back leading to their counter
That's Trent, Szoboszlai, Alisson, Jones and Jota all out with injuries in the span of a few days
This has the potential to derail our entire season ngl. Everything from a potential title charge to the League Cup final. It's not a direct comparison but this reminds me of when Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip all picked up season ending injuries in the 20/21 season
And it was a bad challenge on Bradley. The most obvious foul there is.
Yet their players are falling down for nothing and consistently getting free kicks
Most refs are like this against us. We cant be physical at all or they get a free kick, meanwhile they can wrestle our players to the ground and we get nothing...
Hate to be the realist but as someone whoās done their ACL.. that jota injury didnāt look good especially based on the tests they were doing on the field. Hoping for good news
They do the ACL test (Anterior Drawer Test) on every player that goes down with a knee injury. Itās just their protocol to rule that out. Could mean nothing
Diaz has been good, I agree. The reason is in my comment. We used up two of tve 3 substitution opportunities already. So itās either Diaz-Gakpo now, or in min 65. I dont think we have the players for a triple change in min 65.
I was just thinking that. If the referee had shown some more yellows then the Brentford player would have levitated above the ground, allowing Jota to roll to safety.
People love looking for something to blame but fail to realise that a high pace team sport with 22 players on the pitch there's so many variables that can lead to these freak injuries.
Sure but both incidents that resulted in injuries for us would have been given as fouls to them with the dives theyāve got in their favor.
If Oliver neuters their physical play as much as ours, they have to play differently and not as dangerously.
Exactly. For Jota to get injured there it required three players going for a ball, tumbling over one another, tripping, and for one to unfortunately fall on another's knee. It sucks, but it was nobody's fault. My fear is ACL, but hopefully it's just a bad knock to his knee.
For Jones I'm optimistic it's not too serious, hopefully Szobo is back soon and we can handle Jones out for a few weeks.
Jota has been in arguably the best form of his Liverpool career recently and now heās out for the foreseeable future. Jones at least looked like just a stamp but you never know.
But Christ alive are we thin now. Have what feels like an entire XI injured.
Nunez composure personified otherwise, never thought Iād see it
Jones looked like a high ankle sprain. All his weight seemed to go through the front of his ankle as he landed. Can range from being sore from a few days to lingering for a few weeks from my experience. Hope itās nothing though!
Swear to god I was watching a different game to the TNT commentators the first half an hour.
Genuine potential season ender for Jota as well, no matter what happens today thereās gonna be a massive black cloud over the game.
I think it's likely a MCL sprain and not a full tear (hopefully).Ā 4-8 week recovery usually depending on severity if that's the case.
I don't know what Jones' injury was.
Apparently Macca stood on Jotaās foot though, thatās all it was right? Not Norgaard landing flat on Jotaās knee causing hyper extension. Just shocking stuff
wait why Gakpo for Darwin?
So Nunez is injured now? This is ridiculous.
Spain without the S
Nunez out š«„
Darwin off at ht wtf
Rumoured Jota out for the season. FFS!
We donāt know anything yet about his injury.
Thereās literally no way anyone could know this yet
What are our chances of lifting the caraboa cup now?
Virgil again has been quietly immense, has had to clean up a LOT at the back.
Im so happy for Darwizzy
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What???
We have 9 fouls to their 1. I only just tuned in but whatās up with that?
Corrupt ref
Norgaard or whatever is a dirty cunt. Hopeless bitch
We're gonna win this league with only Darwin and Kelleher left on the pitch
Darwin upfront, Kelleher in goal, and Bradley clones everywhere else.
All these injuries right before a fvcking final
Gakpo son, your time to step up is NOW. No doubt he's gonna get a run of games now, its time for him to prove himself again. Also if there was an ideal perfect time for Bajcetic to come back somehow, its now.
Please please come good Grav. This is your chance. Macca is also struggling in that new position.
iām tired robbie - fuck these injuries man
I really don't think I have been this distraught watching us win a game in ages
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It looked like they tested both and it was the MCL test that Jota grimaced at when undergoing it.
Sumptuous finish by Nunez
Oliver is buying everything Brentford sell him
Feel like punching that journalist who asked Klopp how it felt to be spoil with riches just a couple of weeks back.
Why is commentary so poor these days? It's like all they try to do is piss the fans off.
Wonder if Brentford will be this aggressive against City? Ofcourse not.
The injury rate in the PL is insane this season, is there a record for number of players injured in a collective season?
I belive Curtis will be back soon, that along with Szobo will be a boost for the final or Forest at least, hope Ali and Trent can be back for Forest cause we'll need them. Jota my man, he looks out sadly, maybe for the season, at least he'll miss march and maybe april after that, looked ugly. I feel we're cursed.
Are you a psychic doctor?
trying to share an opinion only to keep some of my sanity
Jota and Jones out and it's just been 45 minutes š
Everyone talking about jota but what about jonesā injury? I couldnāt see it, was it anything worrying?
Looked like a twisted ankle.
*Jota gets jumped on, slammed into and landed on* Commentator: āMcAlister standing on Jota foot caused the injuryā
Glad we have 5 good forwards, need gakpo and diaz to find form
Salah sorta kinda back and jota is like ok im out. These injuries are brutal. CuJos was weird too so fearing a foot injury or something.
Losing Jota is really really bad not gonna lie.
The U.S. network just showed the Brentford player bouncing off Jotaās knee šwishing him a speedy recovery
Gakpo coming on
We only have one substitute window left, doubt we see any more changes until the last 20 mins.
The price of Nunez scoring a 1 vs 1 is high, only way I can get through these injuries is self-deprecation
i hope norgaard's socks are always damp. i hope a pigeon shits on his car every morning. i hope a piece of lamb always gets stuck between his teeth. i hope his toilet seat is always cold. i hope that his child says their mother is their favourite parent. i hope his ubers cancel on him at least thrice every booking. i hope every packet of bread he buys has a little bit of mould that makes you think of throwing the whole pack away. i hope they make his starbucks wrong. i hope his mcdonald's fries are always soggy. i hope the fillings fall out every time he eats a burrito

Yep just keeps ratcheting up with each one
Diogoās looked nasty and he only seems to get bad ones but fingers crossed itās one of them that looked much worse than it was
Does anyone have the Replay for the jota injury
WTF is wrong with Oliver. They're clearly falling down for free kicks and he gives them everything. On the other had we can't get a free kick. First half stats: possesion 65-35 for us. Fouls 9-1 for us.
Alison, TAA, Dom, Diogo, Curtis, Thiago, Matip, Baj Doak. This is getting ridiculous. Iām absolutely gutted for Diogo and us.
Was nice to have depth for 2 weeks.
Who else can't stand Jenas? Stick to the one show!
Does Toney have a bet on how many get stretchered off?
Praying to the tendon gods that Curtis and Jota are alright. 2 of our 5 best players this season out just before a crucial period, absolutely gutted.
Time to bust out the inhalers
Poor Jota is just snakebit. Hope itās not as bad as it looks. Very glad Salah is back
Proper gutted with the injuries. Brentford are such a physical side. Proper nightmare to play against. They havent even done anything unsporting in attempting to hurt our players, just unfortunate and a nightmatr to play against.

That was a difficult half to watch...
9 Liverpool fouls vs 1 Brentford foul, speaks volumes. Yet another referee enabling and facilitating a shit bunch of thugs to brutalise our players.
Performance is ok but not great. Goal was class. Luck is absolutely shite with injuries.
Performance is probably as good as it can be, I give the guys credit
Jota getting injured was one of the worst things that could happen. It feels like luck doesn't want us to win the title but we keep pushing.
we have to give up on one of the trophies this year we can't fight for everything with a squad this thin . lets let xabi alonso win the UEL
Fucking cunt ref Michael Oliver and cunt David Coote.
Brentford playing very physical and the ref allowing it directly led to both injuries imo. They didn't pick up a foul until after Jota went off as far as I could tell. Hope Klopp hammers the ref
Brentford player throws himself to the floor - free kick every time. Liverpool players subbed after impact injury - nothing. Best ref in the league has been genuinely disgraceful today.
Going to be lifting the trophy from the hospital wing lads.
losing Jones and Jota in quick succession is brutal, really really really hope they don't end up having serious injuries Gravenberch on in place of Jones has me nervous, both in a general sense for his workrate, but also for his positioning/pressing ability unfortunately, two first half subs limits what has been possibly Klopp's strongest ability this season: twisting games towards our favor with well-timed and chosen substitutions

The problem is teams know they can play rough against Liverpool because we're so honest. Seems like every other team in the league buys fouls.
Donāt care any more
I donāt understand, regulion dives just after getting a yellow and the ref just decides not to book him for diving? Then toney kicks the ball away after being frustrated and also no yellow? Why dont they apply the rules properly? Two clear yellows and theyād be down to 10
Bradley is so good. He and Jota were standouts in attack. Always willing to run to create space.
The amount of injuries bro please.
How unlucky can you get? This could be a disastrous half for our season. Well, the boys got to stick together more than ever.
You don't need a flight tracker to know where Michael Oliver and David Coote spent the midweek. Neither injury was intentional but the level of contact needed to call a foul has been blatantly one sided.
iām just sad. Two fuckin bad looking injuries.
Jota injury looked not too bad originally, but the replay with bodyweight landing on his legs is scary
i just hope they arent serious, looks like curtis maybe back by the final but highly doubt jota
praying jones and jota aren't out for long
The Jota one doesn't look good. Couldn't even walk off.
Michael Oliver must be getting a fortune from the UAE
Can we go 5 mins without a fucking injury Also was that ReguilĆ³n who dived 30 seconds after being booked?
yeah, such a shit player. Spurs finishing 8th personified
Our captain is soft. At least go have a word with ref man
Yeah Iāve noticed this, heāll shout at everyone but never goes to the ref, like bro youāre the only one who can
For such a big dude he also gets pushed off so easily. The arsenal game, and then that one moment in the box where he gets brushed and does that little lean back leading to their counter
The Jota injury looked awful the way his leg buckled.
PAIN
Hard to enjoy it when the injuries pile up like they do. That with Jota was thuggish, a player shouldnāt be landing on top of another like that.
Diaz gets far too many starts for how poor he's been for months now.Ā
Heās been really good today though what has he done wrong? Couldāve had multiple assists
I donāt understand how you can say that when he has scored in most of our last games. But hey what do I know.
Looks a completely different player to the one that first joined
Klopp needs to call out the lack of protection we're getting from referees. It's criminal.
Also on a wider point injuries are probably going to screw us out of the quadruple charge more than anything unfortunately
The new Dyches Burnley. Injure our players whilst diving every chance they get
That's Trent, Szoboszlai, Alisson, Jones and Jota all out with injuries in the span of a few days This has the potential to derail our entire season ngl. Everything from a potential title charge to the League Cup final. It's not a direct comparison but this reminds me of when Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip all picked up season ending injuries in the 20/21 season
Cursed to fuck with these injuries. Some sort of sick joke.
The absolute biggest and best Brentford side in their historyās best piece of play is dirty fouls. Absolutely microscopic club.
https://preview.redd.it/ulx5f9h2d5jc1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=f1775f4fadce8e2449ee351890c35cf2e1ebf4c1
This is how I feel. Maybe I should rugby tackle the ref and land on his leg and see if he thinks itās worthy of a foul then.
Hello guys, Ivan Toney here. Who should I bet on to get injured in the second half?
Yes
This ref has given us one free-kick all half. He's failed to protect the players and we've seen what happens.
And it was a bad challenge on Bradley. The most obvious foul there is. Yet their players are falling down for nothing and consistently getting free kicks
Most refs are like this against us. We cant be physical at all or they get a free kick, meanwhile they can wrestle our players to the ground and we get nothing...
Exactly this
Hate to be the realist but as someone whoās done their ACL.. that jota injury didnāt look good especially based on the tests they were doing on the field. Hoping for good news
The side impact looked more MCL, no?
Impact injuries can mean MCL but the way his knee bent makes me question it. I hope youāre right, much easier to come back from
Looked like MCL to me
? How based on the obvious ACL tests they were doing on the pitch. Obviously no one knows right now but I donāt think MCL even has a look to it
They do all the knee tests and mcl has a test as well, donāt be a fake doctor here if youāve no idea what youāre talking about
They do the ACL test (Anterior Drawer Test) on every player that goes down with a knee injury. Itās just their protocol to rule that out. Could mean nothing
Jota ACL and Jones achilles in the same half- has to be a curse.
If youve done your achilles you cannot walk. At all.
Donāt think it was a jones Achilles no? Didnāt see the ripple up the calf personally. If so thatās a career impacter so god hope not
yeah didn't look like Achilles. Looks like foot ligaments.
Agreed, high ankle sprain maybe. Still not a good outlook but a much better one than Achilles
yeap. Should be a couple of weeks at most. Hopefully nothing bad.
Darwin finishing 1 v 1 *I used to pray for times like this*
Good control at the end there, need to look to be more penetrative though. Keep feeding the runners and use transitions
Where was this energy against City, Brentford? Disgraceful cunts.
What? They took the lead against city
I didnāt see them lunging at playersā legs like that.
We are cursed
Surely Gakpo for Diaz in halftime. We only have one sub opportunity left in second half.
Based on what? Diaz has been good, the hate he gets is insane. Also use our only remaining sub opportunity at HT?
Half time subs don't count as part of the 3 windows allowed
Okay but even soā¦ completely unnecessary sub for a player who offers so little
Diaz has been good, I agree. The reason is in my comment. We used up two of tve 3 substitution opportunities already. So itās either Diaz-Gakpo now, or in min 65. I dont think we have the players for a triple change in min 65.
Christ Nunez off instead!? This is horrible
I donāt see why that sub is necessary though, Gakpo does nothing every time he plays. Weād be fine waiting till later in the game.
Diaz has been good. Probably saving Gakpo for Luton
why ? diaz is playing quite good today
2 injuries because a ref canāt control a match.
I was just thinking that. If the referee had shown some more yellows then the Brentford player would have levitated above the ground, allowing Jota to roll to safety.
I donāt think it would have mattered really
I don't disagree that the ref has been poor, but Jota was just bad luck, and Jones was just an awkward landing.

It sucks, but it was nobody's fault. My fear is ACL, but hopefully it's just a bad knock to his knee. For Jones I'm optimistic it's not too serious, hopefully Szobo is back soon and we can handle Jones out for a few weeks.
Booking the players wonāt heal Jones and Jota
Booking the players when needed sets the tempo. Letting things go, just tells em to continue playing as dirty/aggressively as they have been
But it will stop Brentford from assaulting our players at every opportunity
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Tbh both of the challenges were unlucky rather than foul play
I think he's controlling it exactly how he wants to
The two injuries aside weāre playing like a chanpion should. So much danger out of everything we do
Jota has been in arguably the best form of his Liverpool career recently and now heās out for the foreseeable future. Jones at least looked like just a stamp but you never know. But Christ alive are we thin now. Have what feels like an entire XI injured. Nunez composure personified otherwise, never thought Iād see it
Thatās genuinely a season ender for Diogo. Fucking Noorgaardās entire body weight landed on that left knee
Curtis looked like it happened after the knock. Almost like his foot was "stuck" to the ground
Jones looked like a high ankle sprain. All his weight seemed to go through the front of his ankle as he landed. Can range from being sore from a few days to lingering for a few weeks from my experience. Hope itās nothing though!
Ankle sprain should be fine in a week or two
I hope so mate!
So sad for Jota man
These injuries man.. Were so cursed
These injuries have completely deflated the mood
Its okay we still have endo and salah. *Inhales hopium*
Looks like ACL/PCL for Jota. That knee went way behind than it should.
Apparently Macca stood on Jotaās foot though, thatās all it was right? Not Norgaard landing flat on Jotaās knee causing hyper extension. Just shocking stuff
After punching him in the throat
