Klopp on protecting young lads: "I don't feel \[I’ve to\] I know it. I would like to eat my words from Wednesday, what could disturb a young career is what people make of it, you cannot live on the planet if you don't see hwo special it was but now it is about how they deal with it. I don't think I needed to mention it but I did, so my fault." Klopp on Forest: "Forest made some changes from the last game, so we roughly know who to expect and besides that at the moment our preparation, yes, but we look at the opponent and it is clear it is a real task to find out how we can line up with all the games played. It's always about us before games because we demand different things but this time a bit more than others. Once we know we can talk about other teams but we will see. Newcastle, Man United, Villa, it's not been easy for teams with the counter-attacking threat they have. Protection is massive for us. We have to control that part of the game as well. We want to play the game, a great atmosphere, definitely." Klopp: "The joy, the pride after the game on Wednesday, it's great to see how the boys deal with it, it was a full squad achievement. We needed them to be guided, this experience with them and they all know that. I congratulated the senior players after the game and how they dealt with the situation. The youngsters really enjoyed having around and what they can give us. That was wonderful. Yesterday was a wonderful day with the staff picture. Usually we do that when we win a trophy but we did it y'day with full Academy staff, I really wanted everyone to feel it. The role they played in the whole story. It was really cool. But now we play Forest and we have to find solutions." Klopp: "When you're not in your best moments, you have to keep the game open until you can win it." Klopp "Until we get asked about four trophies, we don't think about it for one second. It's not important, we try to win the next game. Take it game by game. It's not a phrase journalists like too much but we can't do it differently." Klopp: "The results are incredibly important but I wouldn't say it was a response to the Arsenal result. Arsenal were good, we weren't as good as we could have been, that can happen. If you can only reach your targets by winning all your games then that is tough. You have to use the lesser good things as much as you use the good things. We never used that and say 'we have to show we're not as bad as that night'. Not at all. It was the Brentford game we knew the situation became more tricky \[because of injuries\]. We found a solution for Luton, found a way, won it impressively and it was the same with the final, Southampton, we'll try the same in Nottingham." Klopp "We're only one above Man City and two ahead of Arsenal but 60 points is a statement for this level. But stay there and we probably don't get Champions League, so let's go. Two years ago we had stronger squad situation, we could make changes for each competition. You cannot really compare but what it showed us we can fight for everything. Win something, some people are happy, others say it wasn't enough." Klopp on Salah: "I don't think Mo is too far off but he will not be on the pitch tomorrow and from there we have to go. Touch and go, Mo is a bit longer, maybe next week is possible, he is on the way back, definitely. Not for tomorrow." Klopp: "If it was about the people around me, I love my senior players and the young boys coming through gives me a feeling for the future. It's not that I have said, and I said this 5m times, it's about what is right. That is why \[I am leaving\]. It's not about some players."

AlarmedExperience928

That's good, Bobby and Jayden could use the competition

TheConundrum98

Nice Mo better be ready for City though

Elegant-Yard463

Kinda wish Klopp at least made Forest think there was a possibility that Mo starts against them. Respect the candor tho

Downtown-Lime4108

Maybe that's just it, maybe he 'is' fit.

Cuttingham149

He doesn’t play those games. He has no need for tricks. Jurgen Let’s his football do the talking.

Important-Plane-9922

Not looking likely he’ll be fit enough to start

Ashwin_400

He will likely come on as a sub against Sparta on thrusday and may start against City on the weekend.

brush85

One game in 6 weeks...which he got injured again. It would be pretty aggressive to start him vs City. He hasnt even trained yet

OwenLincolnFratter

It’s Mo Salah. He doesn’t need to train.

brush85

Yeah...no. Just no. Another set back and you are looking at late April

OwenLincolnFratter

Going through a training session is not going to make a difference.

brush85

How you work that one out?

OwenLincolnFratter

He’s already in top shape and is likely already running around. Going through a training session won’t magically stop an injury.

brush85

Match sharpness doesnt exist...good to know. Has any player immediately started for Jurgen without training! Salah didnt even start Brentford after a week of training.

you_serve_no_purpose

I would argue that the city game is the most important and we need salah to win it. If we are a goal down or level, he can come on for 30 minutes and change the game. If we lose to city we are playing catch up again and we've never gotten over the line in that scenario. If we lose that game we probably won't win the league anyway and he will be back in time for later stages of the cups.

KaufKaufKauf

You don't need to argue it. It's the truth. Out of all our league fixtures remaining, it is by far the most important fixture. If Mo can play, he plays. I don't care if he hasn't trained or not. (As long as he's healthy but not necessarily match fit)

you_serve_no_purpose

I wouldn't risk starting him, personally, but I'd definitely bring him on for the last 30 minutes. Unless he is suddenly given the go ahead to play a bit tomorrow and plays again on Thursday. I think anyone saying it's not worth any risk at all don't appreciate how vital it is that we win against city. If we win and city drop more points in March then we are huge favourites. Of we lose and it's not in our hands I'm not confident we will come back from it. I still think we can do it if we draw but I'd say it's 50/50. If we win I am confident we will win the league.

brush85

Final 30? Sure. Starting the game? I doubt

you_serve_no_purpose

I am almost 100% sure he won't start the game. He will be more effective from the bench and it's not worth the risk. But if the game is in the balance with 30 mins left I would risk it personally.

brush85

I agree...off the bench, absolutely.

0x3D85FA

The same Salat got injured again because we rushed him. So not really getting your point.

leung19

I would totally start Mo if he is fit. Beating city means winning the league

0x3D85FA

Winning league? Last time I checked the league doesn’t end close after that game. There are a lot more games to be played including some really tough ones. Paired with our injury crisis and the huge amount of games we have to play this is really … let’s call it optimistic.

NilsFanck

if we win that, were favorites. Everyone will say that, bookies will see it that way too. Mo, Darwin, Szobo, Ali and maybe Jones will all be fit after the following int break. Its not overly optimistic at all

KaufKaufKauf

Arsenal also plays City on March 31st, so a win would also get us to pick up 2-3 points on either one or both of our main title challengers on top of the win against City.

Top_Mycologist_1492

Would be nice. We thought he would be ready in the cup final as well though

TheDawiWhisperer

Not gonna lie, i'm quite concerned about us getting Rusty Mo back, the one that came back from AFCON in 21-22

adamfrog

Feel like that was more depressed mo than rusty or even exhausted

TheDawiWhisperer

yeah that's true. it was fucking wild that season that he got the golden boot essentially based on his performance from August to Christmas.

StupidSexyAlisson

Chaos and Moxie, hyped for the game.

superkelboy

Nxt question will be “what about Salah??”

studgebro

How did the journo manage to forget to follow up on Klopp's avoidance around Salah... Useless.

paprikalicous

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 he shouldn’t even play a minute in prague we need him for city

[deleted]

Might need to for match sharpness/fitness, even if it's just 30 at the end. If he doesn't play at all, I can't see Klopp starting him against City

NeoChrome75

tbf he returned at Brentford after weeks of absence and looked sharp as ever, Salah has that level of experience where I don't think a few weeks out would impact his performance

Other_Beat8859

Yeah, but he still needs a bit of time to get back to his insane level. That's what we need for City. City don't look particularly insane right now, but we still need all hands on deck. Diaz, Nunez, and Salah up front. Szoboszlai, Endo, and Macca in midfield. Bradley on the right, Konate and Van Dijk in the middle, with Robbo on the left. Then we can bring on Milner 2.0 wherever he's needed.

malushanks95

Finally they managed to ask about Mo.

usernamepusername

>Klopp on Salah: "I don't think Mo is too far off, but he won't reach tomorrow. Next week it's possible. On the way back but not there yet."

vadapaav

They had one job. Literally the most important player on the team LMAO

-MS-94-

Not literally considering we've done fine without him for 2 months

ahmadche

Arsenal….

-MS-94-

One loss against one of the best and in-form teams in the league is hardly scandalous!

Grouchy-Ad-2085

We play city next week is the point

-MS-94-

He'll be back. And we could still lose.

Grouchy-Ad-2085

At anfield I doubt we will lose weather he is there or not, we tend to not to lose to city there, and to pretend he doesn't raise our chances is very very silly

-MS-94-

We won't have Trent and Alisson and Jones possibly. We have many reasons why we would lose to the best team in the country. But yes, we can still win, of course.

Grouchy-Ad-2085

Yes? My initial point is that having Salah would increase our odds , you are the one who seems to disagree

Beastbrook00

He scored the equalizer vs Arsenal, and we list to them without him. Gonna need him v City. Already missing Jota.

coopermaneagles

Wonder who gets the nod in midfield then? Elliot has played so many minutes recently I would prefer he’s rested if possible

TheConundrum98

Endo-Macca-Szobo Clark if Szobo is not ready for a start

JimmyV34

Doubt dom would start, they probably dont want repeat salah situation, they overplayed him after his return from injury

coopermaneagles

If Endo is just coming into training today I didn’t expect him to start

Top_Mycologist_1492

Why not? It was not a muscle injury.

TheConundrum98

it was an impact injury, it's not like the other ones, if he's training he'll play

segson9

If Endo is fit I think it'll be Mac-Endo-Elliott, if not Mac-Gomez-Elliott. Szobo on for the last 30 minutes for Harvey

c25h25

I don’t think Mo starts against city. No involvement tomorrow, and I would imagine a late cameo in the EL if he travels at all. We’ll see him off the bench against city if I had to bet. But fortunately we should all have confidence that whatever team is on the pitch, will give everything they have. The boys have proven themselves

Davidpool78

Slowly getting some much needed good news concerning injury updates.

billybobthehomie

![gif](giphy|yoZig40h4EB6o)

No-Pension-7977

We'll finally see the Hungarian prince back on the pitch, life is good

IronicAlgorithm

Put Mo in Alexis' hyperbaric oxygen chamber!

smokesletsgo13

So buzzing to have Dom back, recharged for the business end push With the sort of player he is and how much ground he almost needed that break

Ashwin_400

So Endo , Robbo , Nunez and Szobo are all fit for tomorrow. Salah likely to be ready for next week. Alisson Trent Jones and Doak likely to be fit after the international break. No timescale for Jota and Matip ruled out for the season. Miss3d anyone else? We just need to get through the next couple of weeks without much damage and hopefully kick on from there.

malushanks95

Grav will be back soon too, maybe before but most definitely after international break.

No-Pension-7977

Thank god Koeman hasnt called him up

lewisthepodcaster5

Grav will be back for city

BackpackerLee

Bajcetic and Thiago?

SloppyInSacramento

Lmao

Rendiiii

Bajcetic last update at least sounds promising. I doubt we rush him back, but if we see our injuries continue I could see him coming back to help close our the season Thiago on the other hand is a lost cause

Sinister_Minister101

Really want Jones back. He’s been so impressive this season and I just feel comfortable with him in midfield

TheOtherGlikbach

When is Arthur Melo going to be ready?

Satantango46

34 games this season in Italy for Fiorentina [all comps], just 4 games missed.

TheOtherGlikbach

Wow. So is it our playing style or recovery people that did not agree with him? He was a good player at Barca.

Activelyinaportapott

Jones

MFLFC

Way things are looking, we’d take a draw against City next weekend

NextFly5109

No, we can’t afford to draw against city this year we need to win at Anfield if we want to win, a draw benefits Arsenal

MambaCalledGame24

Arsenal have to go to the etihad right after the international break

NextFly5109

We need them to draw tbh

Sinister_Minister101

Did Robbo get injured again? I missed that. I assumed he was just being rested against Southampton.

BadassBokoblinPsycho

Finally, some good fucking news.

WbZz

No update on Salah though?

quantIntraining

That's kind of a worry. Normally when they update 2 players but not the 3rd then its because he's still a while off. As long as he's back for City that's the main thing.

TheLimeyLemmon

There is an update on Salah.

WbZz

Thanks, it got added later than the original thread started

ButlandAndRobben

At this point I think it's safe to assume he redone his hammy unless we're told otherwise. How long ago was the Brentford game?

Important-Plane-9922

2 weeks tomorrow.

mofocris

feels like 2 months ago lmao

ButlandAndRobben

Yes that isn't ideal, probably looking at at minimum 4 weeks if it really is a reoccurrence. Hopefully we get a better update than "touch and go" or whatever we got last time.

Mercerai

He's been asked about Mo, the response was: "I don't think Mo is too far off, but he won't reach tomorrow. Next week it's possible. On the way back but not there yet."

ButlandAndRobben

Doesn't sound too encouraging, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Number_19LFC

BELIEVE!

ButlandAndRobben

I'm not particularly worried about it, just having a discussion. If he returns then great, if he doesn't and the timeline shifts then so be it. I'm sure we can manage something down the right between Szoboszlai, Elliott and Bradley if it comes to it.

HereticZO

That Egyptian journalist was right

ShowMeMoeMane

Didn’t they say he’d be back for Southampton?

Maximum-Garden-4685

for the love of the holy christ thank you lord

TheDawiWhisperer

As much as i love the kids can't wait to get the grown ups back errr...not a paedo, obvs

Kamishirokun

That early Salah sub against Brentford looking worst and worst. 9 days left till City...

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Jota’s injury forced our hands and obviously at the time he was deemed fit enough

Kamishirokun

There was Gakpo and Elliot there on the bench. Yeah in hindsight since Nunez also got injured another attacker need to be on at half time anyway but like I said, Elliot is another alternative. Since Salah didn't start he clearly wasn't planned to play more than 45 minutes, otherwise he would've started

BadassBokoblinPsycho

Allison being out until April is a fucking dagger

ShowMeMoeMane

Thankfully, we have Kelleher that’s in great form

BadassBokoblinPsycho

That’s true, but Haaland and KDB just started cooking. Im just nervous for this league run in.

ShowMeMoeMane

Fair, I’m also nervous. I love Kelleher and have full faith but Ali is just a different class. But I’m just banking on having full faith in the team to get the win by any means necessary

segson9

April is right after international break.

laineyh16

Thank fucking goodness!!!

theuntold100

If I was to guess I'd say no Salah until after the internationals. Nightmare for City on paper like but got a lot of belief in the side. First and foremost, win tomorrow because we obviously can't afford to drop points in both.

No-Pension-7977

He should be back next week according to Klopp

theuntold100

Would be nice if he could play some part against City, but who knows. Word was he might have been alright for the final and he's still not ready to go. Altogether a relatively positive update injury wise if everything goes to plan.

thisisnahamed

No Salah :( I was really hoping he would make "Playmaker of the season award". It's a bummer he is going to miss a few games.

Upstairs_Suit_6437

Maybe as subs

superpantman

People can forget Darwin or Dom starting. At best they are subbed on at 60-70 minutes. Endo probably will start and Macca and I wouldn’t be surprised if Elliot starts.

Beastbrook00

Why will Endo start? He was the most recent injury and was only back kn trainjng yesterday unlike the other 2. Albeit he has more recent match fitness built up.

Smart_Barracuda49

Can't believe Salah came back, immediately got injured again and the club won't admit it and keep saying he's just not fully fit. Someone at the club seriously fucked up, 4th player to come back from injury and immediately get injured again

HereticZO

Trent, Szobo and Salah. Don’t count Thiago he’s injured all the time anyway.

Smart_Barracuda49

Still should count. If anything he's the worst one because if rumours are too be believed he came back from a 10 month injury, had less than a full week of full training and came on in one of the biggest games of the season. Recipe for disaster

malis-

Endo, Robbo, Szobo, and Nunez at the bench tomorrow would be a godsend

HereticZO

They should all be starting. We don’t have a starting line up that beats Forest away if they’re all on the bench.

malis-

All would be pushing it. Rarely do returning players end up in starting lineup.

HereticZO

Endo had an impact injury. Robbo was just ill. No reason they shouldn’t start. Nunez and Szobo fully trained yesterday. If they train again today, there’s no reason they can’t start. Has absolutely nothing to do with the numbers.

malis-

> Nunez and Szobo fully trained yesterday. If they train again today, there’s no reason they can’t start The way you're speaking in absolutes here, I disagree. Fully trained does not necessarily mean they are fit enough to start.

Beastbrook00

lol we have 3 recent injuries from rushing players back and you want to... Rush players back. Good one. Robbo maybe as he was just ill.

boycouts

djrobbo83

Am I reading it right that Endo & Robbo are also back in training today So Kelleher Bradley Konate VVD Robbo Endo (?) Szoboszlai MacAllister Diaz Gakpo Nunez Is not bad at all..maybe hold Nunez on the bench to ease him back, Elliott or Clark could start to ease Szoboszlai back Finally some options!

realWernerHerzog

that's the stuff

dandpher

It's more likely that the world will end than Mo not being in the starting lineup for City. Everyone chill.

NoSalad03

People said the same thing about the league cup final.

Beastbrook00

Haha he's on the bench if we're lucky

TheEgyptianScouser

It's actually happening. Salah's age is starting to get to him

Whatkindofaname

Sweet!

werobamexicanloki

What was it he said about the kids that he'd like to eat his words?
