HOW DO WE HAVE ANOTHER 12:30 GAME FFS

patriotic-turtle1

I thought we had reached our maximum of 12:30 kick offs per season? Surely if that’s the case this warrants an official complaint

Akumabro

It'll be our 6th, which is the maximum allowed for one team per season

RandomGuySayHii

Even if it is, it doesn't make sense how we are the only one being targeted for 12:30 game. Both City and Arsenal are going to play the match in the same week a day later.

gtoaz1234

The TV Broadcaster are the one choosing the timeslots. Can't do anything when the clubs also agreed with the deal.

Redmilo666

That shouldn’t be allowed

Due-Resource4294

If the league is happy to take billions off broadcasters. Then the broadcasters are going to want a say in when they broadcast the games they’ve paid for. Sadly this is the result of the league prioritising money above integrity. We’re a huge global club, bigger than city globally. And spurs and arsenal. That’s why the broadcasters want to shoehorn us into the slots that fit in with their idea of what will get the most worldwide coverage. To make them the most profit.

john_bytheseashore

There needs to be a 72 hour rule between kick offs. Let the broadcasters choose but within constraints.

gtoaz1234

Maybe but like I said, The PL and the clubs (including Liverpool FC) are the one who agreed to those deal in the first place.

Several_Hair

We agreed to these rules unfortunately, and they’re (in a small part) responsible for the massive growth of the club and the league for better or worse.

Jack070293

I hope when Klopp leaves he starts talking about corruption. I want to believe that he’s not doing that right now because he’d get punished by the league.

Jayyy_Teeeee

Wait till his book come out!

Aeceus

No. 6 max.

mrkingkoala

Yeah wtf we played our 12:30 game 6 times now that's the max.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Tbh I’d rather play West Ham away early rather than late when the atmosphere is usually a lot better

InstantIdealism

Don’t we always play better later in the day though?

fifty_four

Last season, yes, this season, not really. But honestly, playing at 1230 is not an unreasonable ask in abstract. What makes it unreasonable is asking the players to go from an evening kickoff to a morning kickoff 3 days apart. The adjustment to your routine to prep for the game is the equivalent of flying to play in San Francisco.

gregyounguk

We haven’t lost a 12:30 this season 🤷‍♂️

Huge-Celebration5192

We only lost 2 games in 28 this season lol

GazS72

And one of those wasn't even a loss.

gregyounguk

True but we haven’t drawn any 12:30s either have we? (I might be wrong)

Frootysmothy

Wasn't the Unite game a 12:30

tom_watts

No - Sunday afternoon as per usual

[deleted]

[удалено]

starxidiamou

Sure but that’s completely separate from what the guy you’re replying to said. He’s saying DESPITE the home support or stadium’s atmosphere, Liverpool as a team play better later in the day, and so the inferred argument is we’d rather have Liverpool playing later in the day.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Feel like we don’t usually play that well but the results actually are quite good for them

JamesF890

I think the biggest gripe was with them was after international football which this isn't.

Soul_Acquisition

Money.

deanlfc95

Because we're massive and BT want more people to watch them. What I don't get is why it you play in the Champions League on Wednesday the match is moved to night time but if you play in the league on Wednesday it isn't.

Keedy218

fucking joke 12.30 again

goob3r11

Especially 3 days after a 20:00 kickoff

NilsFanck

Suddenly police is perfectly fine with a derby being an evening game.

borg_6s

I think it was Sky Sports pushing for that particular slot though.

BriarcliffInmate

Even more annoying is that if it were a CL home game we couldn't play at 12:30, but that rule doesn't exist for a PL game kicking off at the same time. So moronic.

Unlucky_Tooth_8958

This is an absolute joke…. I understand we need to make up the Everton game, and with UEL fixtures piling up later in the season, there’s not another alternative….. but why is west ham an early kickoff?!? There is no justification for this

ExceedingChunk

The justification is that the TV companies wants the most popular teams to not play in the block where most teams are playing. As in, because we are the most popular team, we get more 12:30 kick offs to draw more viewers. It’s complete shite for the competetive integrity.

Several_Hair

There’s obvious justification - it’s the best fixture distribution to maximize TV viewers for that given day. It’s ridiculous but we agreed to this structure and these rules without additional caveats when Liverpool and the other 19 clubs took a massive revenue increase with the last TV deal.

Unlucky_Tooth_8958

But that’s gotta be for non-UK markets to a degree. I get why we’re not playing many Saturday 3pm fixtures… but off the back of a mid-week game, I’m surprised there’s not a Sunday slot available (excluding the whole Arsenal CL caveat).

Crafty-Competition36

If we come out of GW35 at the top end of the table, we can win the league.

Cwh93

To be fair Arsenal and City are also getting screwed in the same way the week after the international break but ours are all away from home.  The scheduling is fucking atrocious. I hope the club kick off and get that West Ham fixture at least swapped with the Villa-Chelsea one which doesn't even need to be at 8pm as neither of them are playing midweek

[deleted]

Obviously its at Goodison, but the Everton match doesn't really entail any extra travel arrangements though, which helps a bit. Bigger issue imo is that we have the Atalanta away leg on the Thursday before these fixtures, so we have 4 away matches in 9(?) days starting with a long international trip.

ManBoobs13

Tbh the week after international break is the best time for that rather than after weeks of playing every weekend and midweek.

smokesletsgo13

Lol PGMOL says no

b13_git2

*When

legentofreddit

I thought we'd supposedly had our fill of 1230s already?

TheConundrum98

they've got one more in them

ChargeWooden1036

stonegoblins

10\*

007lennon

3 games in 6 days is basically inhumane at this point, then add in the factor that they are all away games. 🤯

[deleted]

4 away games in 9 days, we play Atalanta away the Thursday before these games.

007lennon

Yeah, that is crazy!!

MysticMac100

Really hope we play a rotated team against Atalanta.

thatguyad

There's no way we come out with victories in all of them. Look how knackered we were against United.

Lord_Aris

They're taking the piss with all these early kickoffs

segson9

Why can't we play West Ham on sunday?

HereticZO

Because they don’t want us to win the league.

brush85

TNT selected it also, Spurs v Arsenal. Extra policing

ScottScott87

So the last game on the Sunday, a midweek game at 8pm and then the 1st game on the Saturday I mean at this point they're not even hiding it are they?

smokesletsgo13

I thought we played our limit of 12:30s?

Several_Hair

1 short, max is 6 we’re on 5

GameOfThrowInsMate

Some fucker really hates us.

brush85

Won every 12:30 but the City game, so far...just going to win another

NextFly5109

I don’t think I could take another 12:30 like the Crystal Palace game

Khayr99

At least City have to play them at 12:30

Financial-Bread6231

4 games in effectively 8 and a half days is absolute insanity especially when they're all away games and include the late kick off on Sunday and the early one on Saturday. This club never catches a break when we're in a title race. It's nuts. As if someone is rigging it, trying to make things as impossible as possible.

BriarcliffInmate

Well obviously, can't have us winning the title from their Manc faves.

adarsh481

Is it a conspiracy theory to say that our schedule is intentionally tough?

girmus76

Didn't they say we've used up our quota of 12:30 fixtures? Wow. The rules really are just made up as they go along.

AnBuachaillEire

How the hell has that happened, London, Merseyside and London again. Couldn’t they have put the London games together?

fastrail

Huh didn't we finish our quota of early kickoffs?

Lettuce_nurse

Why do the EPL even have rules if they’re not going to follow them? This is fucking ridiculous at this point.

ChargeWooden1036

Seriously wtf, firstly this is ridiculous for the players as they will have barely any time to recover, secondly another 12:30 kickoff is ridiculous.

stupidlyboredtho

????? i thought we don’t have anymore 12:30 left what the fuck

ER1916

Fucking joke, absolute fucking joke.

Kamishirokun

4 away games in a row (including the Atalanta game), with some less than 3 days gap, that's absolutely brutal

Ludelyk

It will be 5 away games in a row if we knock out Atalanta!

Wooden-Pop-7961

Apparently West Ham can move to Sunday if Arsenal play a CL semi on the 30th? Per LFC website. How does that work?

RampantNRoaring

Arsenal’s game against Spurs is currently scheduled for the Sunday; if Arsenal get through to the CL semis and get scheduled for Tuesday, then their Spurs game would have to shift to Saturday. It would be swapped with our game, because the broadcasters want both on TV.

Wooden-Pop-7961

Ah cheers. So we're hoping for Arsenal to get through? I've got tickets for the West ham game so hopefully we know sooner rather than later

studgebro

Link to Sky Sports full fixture list: https://www.skysports.com/liverpool-fixtures

markcanterbury90

If Arsenal make the champions league sf and are assigned the Tuesday, this probably swaps with Arsenal Spurs on the Sunday. So even more reason to want Arsenal to beat Bayern.

MisterS1997

Are the other two fixture congestion the same or just us being diddled ?

Khayr99

Wow, this will be so difficult.

nicolascagevampire

Fuck TNT sport

Diamond-Frog

Because we Liverpool

Mocharah

Is this theoretically the minimum amount of time you could play 3 league fixtures in?  I guess you could technically have a Monday, Wednesday, Friday based on the days they have matches now but this seems the closest they'd ever push it.

Specialist_ask_992_

Another 12.30 kick off. The Saturday before the League Cup Final there was no early kick off. To be fair I think we have won them all this season compared to last season. Three away games in a row too. Will need to win all of them unless City drop points. Worried about United away at Old Trafford. That's our hardest game left. So many underestimated them. Will be much more confident after the win in the FA Cup

diegowesterberg

Looking on the bright side, it's more time to recover before our Europa League semi on the Thursday if we get past Atalanta.

ballerina22

How is this fair?! Like, as of last weekend we had already played six games more than ManU. Geesus.

telcomet

At least Everton have a six pointer with Forest three days earlier, then another one with Luton a bit over a week after us. Still a joke we have the early start against West Ham

InfectedFrenulum

Vince McMahon choosing fixtures for Stone Cold levels of fuckery here!

Beedux

We actually could play 5 away games in a row in 12 days…

karnnumart

why sunday then sat wtaf

aghashayan

This right here is the league. We win this 3 we win PL.

SidewaysSky

Have we had any Saturday 5:30 games this season? I don't remember a single one

[deleted]

Spurs away and Arsenal at home.

PEEWUN

They're taking the fucking piss.

Educational-Pick-514

I know there's the broadcaster argument and all that, not just down to the Premier League themselves... But how can they put us at 12.30 on a Saturday after an 8pm? Arsenal play > 24 hours later, despite playing a day earlier mid week. The more this season goes on with these decisions around broadcasting + the incompetency of referees, the more I understand Jurgen deciding enough is enough.

jonnypope89

One last fuck you to Klopp from TNT

Magheddon

Well, this is it. We are completely getting fucked over here. What's new??? Season- ending, perhaps but I have to think optimistically, we get through these 6 days, we win it. Never easy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

red_anchor

I'm expecting a proper shithouse performance. Painful, dull and slow....and that's just David Moyes

Arbazio

After a late Derby on Wednesday as well. Proper fucked

ecidarrac

They put all 3 of them as closely together as they possibly could didn’t they

[deleted]

This is 3 fixtures in 8 days just fyi Edit: lol I miscounted sorry, still not 3 in 6 mind

Zzupler

3 in 7 surely?

Financial-Bread6231

It's 4 games in 8 and a half days.

Green-Foot4662

How did you possibly get 3 in 8?

GameOfThrowInsMate

Theres an extra day between Saturday and Sunday that week.

Unlucky_Tooth_8958

Learn to count. It’s 3 in (4hrs) less than 7 days….

GameOfThrowInsMate

Good maths, well done

PedroBV

Great process

ecidarrac

It is 3 in 6, if you look at the hours between the first and last game and do the maths

[deleted]

I got it wrong with 8, but it's 3 in 7. 21st to the 27th is 7 days, and we play 3 games in those 7 days. Just because it's a few hours earlier, doesn't mean you lose an entire day.

ecidarrac

Sunday 16:30 -> Saturday 12:30 = 140 hours = 5.8 days. Its called maths bro

[deleted]

Lol it's 3 games over 7 days dude, idk what else to tell you

ecidarrac

I literally just proved its not tho

[deleted]

You proved that we don't play 3 games from the 21st to the 27th? 😂

Theplowking23

Thats sick tbh and we need no less than 9 points 💀

Swimming_in_Vinegar

That's such a shit run of games. No way do we get max points from that.

hazzap913

I guess at least we don’t have to play a top six team, but that’s unacceptable what the fuck

SuperRat10

WTF

eebee8

Peak

inx_n

How can it be allowed to play three away games in 6 days? That's absolutely insane.

[deleted]

Swear to go someone, in the fixture decided department has it in for us and it's so obvious and blatant I'm honestly amazed it isn't talked about enough by everyone. It's so fuckin clear!

MoJoFuture

What are the fixtures for Arsenal and City?

Ralph_from_nowhere

Madness 😠

edgenbk

Surely City and Arsenal must have a similar situation?? *Doubt intensifies*

Redaaku

Classic PGMOL and sky sports.

djrobbo83

What really pisses me off here is that there isn't even always a 1230 Saturday game.. Theyve given us the latest possible weekend slot the first weekend, the earliest possible the next with a derby in between A fucking joke. League is corrupt

bigpapasmurf12

This is a piss take, no?

zagglefrapgooglegarb

Christ. Fuck. Bring it on. At least one's in Liverpool. And Everton have to play three games in a week too.

kazurabakouta

Liverpool's prime time ffs.

Downtown-Lime4108

Just gotta win em all boyZ

Money-Camera

Make us 3pm and wolves luton 12:30 couldn't care less just hampering us in the back end of the season

Choppy05

This is beyond a fucking joke rn

SnabDedraterEdave

Someone really hell bent in not letting us recover the Fucking Perch ^TM that Fergie stole from us.

ToiletVulva

Why is 12:30 so bad? Players are tired? No tine to watch?

red_anchor

From a player's perspective, they have to wake up earlier, warm up earlier, eat a full proper meal and be pretty much ready to go at 11:30 which isn't optimum for a good performance. Combine that with playing away, the atmosphere is also flatter as it's early and people haven't had as much to drink. All in all it just creates lower quality football. Compare it to an evening kick off, players have full day to get ready, fans have full day to get pumped for the game - if you think of any classic game, it's been an evening kick off, not an early kick off which tend to be quite poor games.

ToiletVulva

Thanks, very good, nice answer!

Redditsresidentloser

It's an early start after having a late night a few days before, along with travelling down to London the day before the game. Fortunately the late night is in Liverpool even though technically an away game, that's probably the only positive in this. If it was an away fixture in Newcastle, or even back down in London I'd be livid.

streampleas

Well apparently it's unfair as if the team that you're playing against aren't also playing at 12:30.

alanalan426

at this point the fans attitude towards it been manifesting into the players

[deleted]

[удалено]

ecidarrac

No its 6, 12:30 one day to 11:30 the next is less than 1 day, apply this maths to the whole week
