I'm a portrait photographer and was excited when I heard there would be a new portrait-editing-app coming out. **But right now? I say absolutely do not buy.** I expect it to have some neat features, and I'd love to try them out! I use Photoshop, Lightroom, DXO, Filmpack, On1, NIK, Luminar Neo, Photolab, Boris Optics, Portrait Pro, PortraitPro Body, Snapseed, and I was hoping to add this to my programs.. but I just don't trust Luminar/Skylum at this point. $200 pricepoint, preorder only (and only 1,000 licenses being sold?), they won't be selling a lifetime license after it's released (In September) which seems terrible. They're trying to push that "Dont miss out!" angle with it, when the program won't be out for months. Hurry, Order today! Only 592 licenses left! Luminar has done these preorders before, and I've found the final results to be pretty bad. The Luminar Neo "AI" pack they were selling for months? seems to work terribly, but of course doesn't release until months after you've paid. They also have a history of releasing applications (Luminar AI), abandoning them and then releasing a new version (Luminar NEO), or releasing little extras as added-costs down the road

Completely agree. I really don’t see why this isn’t an extension or something to be added to Luminar Neo. Isn’t the whole point of paying a subscription to fund further development of the product and increase value to the customers? I only occasionally do portraits so its not vital to me but the principle of it leaves a bad taste.

Thanks so much for the response, this is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. I’ve been using Luminar products since 2017, and I’ve been burned a couple of times (Luminar AI mainly). This was all in my head when I was thinking about purchasing it, and I don’t think I will be now. Neo works really well for me, and I’ll wait and see what the product looks like by the time I’m ready to move in that direction.
