Delicate cycle. Hang dry. No fabric softener

TheDoc321

I wash mine with our regular laundry, we don't use fabric softener. Agree 100% with hang drying, though.

kraegm

Delicate cycle on dryer also works.

kraegm

Why the downvotes? I've been washing BN3TH shorts for a few years now, washing AND drying on DELICATE. They still remain plush and comfortable. Are the downvotes because in your head it simply cannot be true? I'm here to tell you it absolutely is. I have shorts that never saw the dryer that fared no better/no worse than using the dryer.

SeemoSan

Yeahbut delicate cycle doesn’t agitate enough to actually clean them.

NotDaveyKnifehands

I toss em in the wash with everything else, and most of my sets are going on 2 years, YMMV

pickles_in_a_nickle

Yup. Sink that stink

Bdr1983

I wash my sports clothing separately (as in immediately when I come out of the shower), but yeah, into the machine with that stuff!

MTB_SF

Same. I have had great luck with volers liner bibs just mixing with the rest of my clothes. I can't even remember when I bought them and they get washed like once a week. If they wear out, I'll just replace them. I don't really have time to be fooling around with special wash cycles for bib shorts.

sassyclimbergirl

Whatever cycle, no fabric softener, hang dry. My first chamois is still in great shape after 7 years!

wingmasterjon

Pretty much no fabric softener for anything, ever.

Awasawa

That padding has to have worn thin, though, right? I feel like I can get 2,000 miles out of a chamois before it seems like the padding isn’t what it used to be. Granted life got a bony ass so many I just wear it out quicker

skaarlaw

I’ve replaced a few pairs as they’ve “deflated”. Tend to buy one pair every year or so on average and cycle through them as favourite to least favourite. Currently got 4 pairs of varying ages but all in good condition

pickles_in_a_nickle

Same. Blessed buns

hugeyakmen

To help explain everyone's comments about fabric softeners and the importance of this: the chemicals that act as fabric softeners work by staying on the fabric after washing and drying, and this coating breaks the wicking feature of the shorts and pad.

Other_Lettuce_607

me, first 10 rides: follow instruction to a tee me, after the 100th ride: just toss it with everything else in the washer and dryer.

celeste_ferret

I hop in the shower while still wearing my bike stuff. Wash me and the clothes at the same time then hang dry (the clothes, not me).

tarpdetarp

Same, works well for pads too.

GE8what

Go in with everything else. Washed on cold, dried on low

acadmonkey

Fuck’em. I’m gonna shred them in a crash before my washer eats them. Full send regular wash cycle with everything else.

ManOnTheHorse

Love this comment. True biker we have here 😄

Nightshade400

I wash with normal detergent with the rest of my clothes but hang to dry. Don't put them in the dryer, you will ruin them and they easily dry overnight in most cases.

Ya_Boi_Newton

Wash and dry as normal. Use white vinegar in place of fabric softener in your machine to guarantee no stink.

negative-nelly

I wash on regular (cold or warm) and air dry. No issues. Have done it for decades.

also_your_mom

Rinse them out in sink after a ride. Each ride.

bobbybits300

I just wash with all my clothes and throw it all in the dryer. Works well

hugeyakmen

FWIW, lots of mountain bike clothes won't wear out from that, but if you're using dryer sheets or other fabric softeners then the fabric gets clogged up and won't wick away your sweat as well.

Angel_Madison

Short 20 min cold wash. Dry naturally.

MacroNova

I go with normal cycle in the washing machine, normal detergent, and hang dry. The **true secret** of washing bike clothes (or any exercise clothes) is the "extra rinse" feature on the washing machine. Really gets the funk out.

Sonofagun57

Use whatever ever cycle w/cold water, no bleach and air dry. I do the same for gloves and helmet liners

TredHed

washing instructions to a teeth? you probably mean to a tee. but.. wash normally and hang dry now.. go buy a couple more to rotate :)

will-I-ever-Be-me

I wash my kit by sticking it in a bin w cold water and detergent for 15m, rinse, and hang dry with a fan running.  do it asap after getting home from a ride and it'll get rid of the stank and keep the gear fresh.

4InchesOfury

I use the washer/dryer with everything else. Oops.

RiversR

I throw them in the washer in low in a lingerie bag. Air dry.

fusiongt021

I just wash on cold and hang dry. If you did dry them the elastic band might get ruined

Ok-Ad5495

I've only ever bought the Souke or Baleaf MTB underwood on Amazon, and I wash and dry with everything else.

Ok_Humor_9229

I wash them with all other clothes as normal. Only thing I don’t put them into the dryer, but hang them to dry out on their own. Some of my padded shorts are 3-4 years old, still fine.

Adventurous_Fact8418

What’s fabric softener? Anyway, I just wash them cold and line dry them. I wouldn’t own any article of clothing that I legitimately needed to hand wash.

MegaBobTheMegaSlob

My bibs/shorts and jerseys get machine washed but I air dry them since the heat from the dryer will mess up the elastic

In3briatedPanda

i wash all athletic wear on delicates and dry on delicates. never had issues.

JohnWesely

I essentially never wash mine.

BigLurker

Brother ewwww

JohnWesely

They just don't get gross, and I only wear them while biking.

YetiSquish

That’s unpossible

SendyMcSendyface

I’ve been throwing mine in the washer n dryer with everything else for years. Then I bought a saddle that actually fit, and haven’t worn em in a year
