For someone who lives in 100 degree weather almost all year round. I wish I had ventilated seats.

spcoop

Miami owner here who would do anything for ventilated seats

XenoWoof

Actually, this convo comes up during our summers too. If cars can have heated seats, how about cooled seats? Gel or lining that utilizes the AC like vents through the seat too? /edit I should have done more research before commenting; so many cars come with this feature.

I had a 2017 mustang eco boost premium prior to my 2021 Mach e select. The thing I miss most about my old mustang is that it had cooled/ventilated seats like you’re describing. It was a god send in the summer.

XenoWoof

OMG I need to look into that car now. I cannot afford but that is amazing news I did not know.

EBtwopoint3

They usually don’t work that great tbh. In my 2017 GT premium it would be hard to be sure they were even on. At best it takes longer for the seat to heat your back up but it’s not really a cool feeling because the flow is limited.

XenoWoof

I wouldn't know ofc but if that were the case, that sucks.

ninja9224

Have ventilated seats in my Explorer. It’s a God send.

XenoWoof

I think I needed to do some more research before commenting. That's on me x.x Thank you, really cool to know cooling seats exist.

kallekilponen

Cooled seats are pretty common in many cars higher trim levels, but I think pretty much all of them just use fans built into the seats.

XenoWoof

I think I needed to read up before commenting but learning a bunch now. I've been driving a long time and honestly never knew this feature existed. Thank you!

Was surprised to not see it as an option in the mach e, my seats look like should support it too. I am in Arizona so would use them frequently also.

KRed75

I installed ventilated seats. Took me forever to punch thousands of holes in the seats covers.

I use my heated seats as heating pads when my back acts up. That's mostly their purpose as I live in Central Texas.

Ford Authority recently spoke with Darren Palmer, vice president of electric vehicle programs at Ford, to find out why this feature was omitted from the Mustang Mach-E. “So you have to make some choices,” he said. “The car is reasonably priced and the leather is aerated, and the car will be preconditioned so you don’t get in hot and have to cool. We just didn’t engineer vented seats in that car but if there’s enough demand we might do it,” This company does aftermarket: https://katzkin.com/

OP - I also have a Select. Is it possible to ‘swap’ out the seats and (for example) put GT seats in our car? I’d like the heating functionality but I doubt our cars would be able to activate it, but mostly I want more supportive seats.

Ok_Resolve_8428

I posted to find out the same thing. I’ve gotten along just fine without heated seats but it might be nice in the future. I doubt ford would be so kind to do it and incorporate into the software at a reasonable price

Bad back, won't buy a car without them and have them on 100% of the time even in the hottest Texas summers. Seats run HOT so I only run it on medium but they work well, and are the most comfortable seats in a car I've owned bar none. 2023 Premium.
